Not following the expected path? Reborn and unexpectedly married to a demon.

Chapter 52 If she's unhappy, Feng Zhe won't have an easy time either.

"It's the same as before, but I'm afraid it won't last long in this weather," the bamboo craftsman replied after thinking for a moment.

"Then how do you think we can survive in this weather for about two hours?"

Chu Luo sat on the bamboo stool next to her and asked.

"How much?"

"I'll take as many as you can make before evening, the more the better."

The shop owner nodded in agreement, "That's perfect. Many of the ones we made before didn't sell; we can rework them for you."

Chu Luo asked the group to sit down, picked up a bamboo strip and taught them how to weave baskets. The shopkeeper ignored them and went to the backyard to prepare things.

The group became very interested in learning how to weave baskets, and they learned very quickly from the story. In no time, they had woven half of one.

"Young Madam, how could a daughter of a merchant family like you know how to weave such things, and so skillfully at that? You could open a shop with that skill!"

Xingzhu held up the crookedly woven basket in her hand and asked Chuluo.

Chu Luo had indeed sold bamboo baskets to make a living, but not in this life. Chu Luo smiled and said, "Learning a skill is more useful than having a certain status. My title as a merchant's daughter is of no use."

Listening to the story and hearing the wind, they smiled and nodded in agreement. The two of them had already finished one basket, and their hands, which held swords, were just as nimble in holding bamboo.

The two looked at the bamboo baskets in their hands with a great sense of accomplishment, and after looking at them for a while, they handed them to Chu Luo to show her.

Chu Luo picked them up and praised them for being clever, saying, "If I ever go out to weave baskets to sell in the future, I'll take you two with me."

Listening to the story and observing her lip movements, I understood what she meant and nodded happily with delight in my eyes.

They picked up bamboo again and started weaving. Happy times passed quickly, and before they knew it, it was noon. The shopkeeper came and said everything was ready, and asked Chu Luo where she wanted to deliver it.

Chu Luo quietly told the shopkeeper a place, took out several silver notes from her bosom, and then took out a money bag full of silver and handed it to the shopkeeper.

"How come there's so much?" the bamboo craftsman asked, puzzled by the large sum of money.

"It's been raining heavily these past few days, and the farmers who helped deliver the goods have had a tough time. Please give them more; if the rain keeps going like this, the crops are probably doomed. Also, please ask everyone to pretend this business never happened."

"Don't worry, this isn't the first time I've done business with you. Everyone keeps their mouths shut."

The bamboo craftsman patted his chest and guaranteed that Chu Luo's single order was worth several months' worth of his business. He was a man of few words and wouldn't say much, besides, he knew that this customer was doing good deeds.

Chu Luo led the group to the top of a mountain in the rain. There was a waterfall there, but the water had turned a muddy yellow due to the continuous downpour. If it hadn't rained, the scenery here would have been beautiful.

Everyone was puzzled as to why they had come to such a place.

Chu Luo pointed to a place not far below the waterfall and said, "There used to be a very beautiful and harmonious village there, with a lovely name called Galaxy Village. The villagers lived by this waterfall for generations, and they were known for being kind and easy to get along with. For hundreds of years, they worked diligently in the fields, truly living up to the saying 'no one picks up lost items on the road, and doors are left unlocked at night.'"

Xingzhu looked down but didn't see any harmonious and beautiful Milky Way Village. Instead, she saw a bustling but desolate courtyard that resembled a palace, with walls so high they were almost touching, like a real imperial palace.

"Where did the village go?" Xingzhu asked, puzzled.

"They were driven out of Jiangzhou after their home was seized by the owner of this courtyard."

"How could anyone be willing to leave home and such a beautiful place?" Xingzhu thought subconsciously.

"Yes, no one wanted to leave. Some people would rather die than leave. So more than half of the villagers died tragically in that ruthless plunder, on the very homes they had lived in for generations, and were finally burned to ashes and scattered into the river."

"How did you know?"

Xingzhu noticed that the courtyard wasn't newly built; it must have been there for several years.

"The people of Yinhe Village once gave me a meal as a token of their kindness."

This act of kindness in providing a meal was not for now; according to the original timeline, it should have been during the time when Chu Luo and her mother were sold into Jiegu and were on their escape route.

She probably won't meet that kind little guy again since she wasn't sold in this life, but she has never forgotten her promise to avenge them.

That day, as she left the Chu family home, the torrential rain revived Chu Luo's past life memories of this incident.

The culprit behind this whole affair is none other than Feng Zhe, who deserves to be torn to pieces. Anything he sets his sights on, no matter whose it is, will eventually become his through his ruthless means. The village of Yinhe, with its hundreds of inhabitants, has been turned into his private villa for viewing waterfalls.

"Forced plunder, murder, and arson are truly despicable acts. No wonder this courtyard is so deathly still." Xingzhu felt deeply empathetic; as someone who had crawled out of a pile of corpses, she could understand this kind of pain.

"Today we're going to do something, destroy this place," Chu Luo said, her eyes filled with coldness as she looked at the waterfall-viewing villa.

"Destroyed? With just the four of us? How is that possible?" Xingzhu thought it was wishful thinking.

Chu Luo said nothing more. She had been in a bad mood these past few days and needed to make Feng Zhe pay a price.

She picked up a large kite and tied it to a big tree beside the waterfall, then directed the others to do the same, tying all their kites to the trees she had mentioned.

After glancing at the distance downstream from the waterfall, Ting Shuwenfeng quickly grabbed a kite and got to work. The two of them were quite skilled in martial arts, and they leaped up a tree to tie the kite even higher.

Chu Luo was growing to admire the two of them more and more. They were incredibly clever; they had figured out Chu Luo's plans and objectives just by looking at the downstream area.

After the kite was tied up, it was weighed down by the rain and couldn't fly at all.

Xingzhu scratched his head, still not understanding his mistress's intentions. Tingshu tied several large kites to a large rock next to the waterfall, and he and Wenfeng took out their swords to remove the soil under the rock.

The rain suddenly intensified, and a strong gust of wind blew the kites on the rocks into the air. The large rocks were even slightly moved. Xingzhu noticed that some kites on the trees were also being blown up, and she began to understand Chu Luo's intention.

"I understand now, young mistress used the wind to uproot trees and move stones, creating an opening to let the waterfall flood the mansion, is that right?"

Xingzhu asked excitedly, and Chuluo nodded, adding that there was another purpose besides that.

"What a pity for these big trees."

Xingzhu looked at the trees with regret and said, "Trees can prevent wind and stabilize sand. If it weren't for these big trees, there would have been a flash flood under the waterfall long ago."

"These trees aren't even the biggest; many of the largest have already been uprooted to build that waterfall-view villa. The heavy rain has covered many of the pits and hollows left after the trees were dug up." If it weren't for so many pits and hollows, she wouldn't have been able to get things done.

"Most of the trees here were planted by the ancestors of Yinhe Village. Every year afterward, the villagers would come here to plant trees, and these trees would protect the safety of Yinhe Village."

Chu Luo looked at the trees here. She had to sacrifice them, but they might still survive. She simply moved some of them aside. "Perhaps some trees can live; after all, they are resilient and can survive as long as there's soil."

She was actually comforting herself with these words; she had to move the tree for the sake of the living.

Chu Luo knelt and prayed devoutly to the trees, "I beg you to take advantage of this opportune time and place to help me. The injustice suffered by Yinhe Village and the lives of those downstream all rest on your shoulders."

After kneeling in prayer, Chu Luo grabbed Ting Shuwenfeng's hand, who was still frantically shoveling mud. "We need to leave quickly. The wind and rain are getting stronger. Once the water from above reaches here, it will become extremely dangerous. I believe God will help us."
