Reversing the Milky Way

Chapter 1 Shocking Change

In the depths of the universe, in the boundless darkness, a crack suddenly appeared. Like a wound torn open by an invisible force, it continuously emitted indescribable light.

Enormous energy continuously surged from the crack, causing the surrounding space to tremble. The surrounding galaxies and nebulae began to surge, and intense fluctuations constantly erupted from the crack.

Suddenly, as if stimulated, tiny cracks began to appear around the crack, extending outwards like spider silk, accompanied by faint red lightning.

As the lightning increased, the entire crack flickered incessantly. Finally, as the flickering frequency of the crack rose higher and higher, a tremendous amount of energy erupted from the crack, and with the burst of energy, the massive crack exploded.

At the same time, the release of energy caused electromagnetic radiation to emit a bright light that spread throughout the planetary system, and the dazzling white light seemed to illuminate the entire universe.

However, as time passed, this beautiful sight began to fade, and the accompanying shockwave, mixed with eerie red lightning, spread in all directions. Planets swept by the shockwave were strangely stained red. Among them, the most massive and eerie energy, accompanied by red lightning, surged towards the blue planet.

In 2050, on the Blue Star Dragon Kingdom, in the Dragon Kingdom's top-secret command center, an old man sat in a corner of the room, his eyes fixed on an electronic screen, his gaze focused and sharp. His aged face told the story of the years, but his eyes were full of vitality. At this moment, he was sitting at the table, leisurely drinking coffee.

This person is none other than Yan Qingshan, the commander-in-chief of the Dragon Kingdom's top secrets department.

A clear, youthful voice called out, "Old Yan!" followed by a flurry of footsteps. With a bang, before the security door was fully opened, a young woman rushed into the office, panting heavily, her eyes filled with anxiety and unease.

"What's wrong? Did something happen? I'm not saying this to be mean, but what kind of behavior are you in right now?" After saying that, he picked up his coffee and slowly sipped it.

The female secretary said with a serious expression, "Mr. Yan, something bad has happened. Our Explorer interstellar satellite has detected a huge energy fluctuation 550 light-years away from Earth."

Yan Qingshan almost choked after hearing this. He coughed twice and said, "Oh, I thought something serious had happened. Stellar explosions are nothing new to us. There's no need to panic about this."

"But Elder Yan, we observed that planetary belt before and did not find any stars or star-like entities. There are no conditions there that could produce an explosion. Moreover, according to the images sent back by the explorers, the power of the explosion would probably far exceed that of any previous star explosions."

After listening to the female secretary's words, Yan Qingshan also sensed a dangerous thought: "Have you detected the level of energy fluctuations?"

"It has already been predicted that the shockwave from the explosion will not affect Earth."

After listening, Yan Qingshan said calmly, "There's no need to panic. As long as it doesn't affect Blue Star, there's no problem. It doesn't concern us."

As Professor Yan said, Earth has now entered an era of highly advanced technology. Human society has undergone tremendous changes and progress. With the development of technology, a considerable portion of Earth's energy has been consumed, many countries can no longer extract usable energy, and some countries are now completely reliant on imports to maintain their national operations.

With the continuous advancement of technology, the weapons developed by humankind have become increasingly sophisticated, and space travel has become a part of daily life. In order to master more advanced energy technologies, humanity has turned its attention to beyond our solar system, and some planets relatively close to Earth have been transformed into habitable environments for humans. Mars is one such example.

Mars terraforming has been quite successful; now 70% of the planet is habitable for humans. Many people are choosing to live on Mars because, without prolonged mining, it still possesses abundant untapped resources. This has attracted numerous wealthy investors, and some countries are even considering relocating their entire populations to Mars. The global power structure is now saturated; some smaller nations have been absorbed into larger powers due to energy and economic issues—something beyond their control.

That's why they turned their attention to Mars.

Back to the present...

The female secretary said with a serious expression, "Elder Yan, in addition to the energy generated during the explosion, we have also detected energy fluctuations of unknown components, which are rapidly heading towards Blue Star. It is estimated that they will arrive in about 5 days."

Upon hearing this, Yan Qingshan's expression tensed up, and his previous composure vanished: "What? Why so fast?"

The female secretary explained, "This energy has surpassed everything we know, and we haven't detected any components of it yet."

After speaking, Old Yan looked troubled, his brows furrowed, and his eyes revealed a hint of worry and unease. His fingers tapped incessantly on the table, as if time had stood still, the sound of his fingers tapping echoing throughout the room.

Then Yan Qingshan spoke seriously, "What did the UN Department of Defense say?"

"It is still uncertain what kind of impact that energy will have on Earth. No relevant announcements have been made yet. We have only issued a reminder to the citizens that an electromagnetic wave will pass through Earth in 5 days."

After listening, Yan Qingshan's expression relaxed slightly: "Alright, issue the order to declare a Level 3 emergency."

"Yes," the female secretary replied before leaving the room.

As the female secretary left the room, the old man's expression remained unchanged. He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. His hand pressed lightly against his nose, as if trying to relieve the pressure in his heart. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then slowly exhaled. He muttered to himself, "Hopefully, this isn't a disaster."
