The Prince's Beloved Little Wife

Chapter 50 Preparations Before Moving into the New Home

Chen Mengyao and Ouyang Han sat hand in hand in the carriage, chatting about the scenery they had seen during their visit to the Grand Tutor's Mansion that day. As if remembering something important, Chen Mengyao said to Ouyang Han, "Yichen, didn't you say you wanted to pick an auspicious day to formally recognize our godparents? I think we should go back to the fortune teller who helped us choose our moving date and ask him to help us pick a suitable auspicious day for us to formally recognize our godparents!"

After hearing this, Ouyang Han smiled and nodded, indicating his agreement with Chen Mengyao's idea. Then, they instructed the carriage to head back into that alley.

Upon arriving there, Chen Mengyao politely explained her purpose to the fortune teller and asked him to help her choose an auspicious day for the adoption ceremony.

The fortune teller narrowed his eyes slightly and extended his right hand to begin calculating. After a while, he slowly opened his eyes, looked at Chen Mengyao and Ouyang Han, and said, "Hmm... the 18th of this month is a good day, suitable for sacrifices, prayers, marriage, and other such matters. What do you think?"

Chen Mengyao and Ouyang Han exchanged a glance, both secretly agreeing that the date was quite auspicious. They thanked the fortune teller, paid the fee, and left happily. On their way, they envisioned the wonderful scene of their godparenting ceremony and imagined their happy and fulfilling future.

After catching his breath, Ouyang Han immediately summoned Ling Feng and solemnly instructed him, "Ling Feng, go to the Grand Tutor's residence immediately and tell them that this auspicious day I have chosen is for the ceremony of recognizing godparents. This matter is of utmost importance and must not be delayed in the slightest!"

Upon hearing this, Ling Feng immediately bowed and replied, "Yes, Your Highness! I will certainly live up to your mission!" With that, he turned and sped away like an arrow, disappearing from the gate of the Prince's mansion in the blink of an eye.

Meanwhile, Chen Mengyao wasn't idle either. She called out, and several dark figures instantly appeared.

Chen Mengyao parted her lips slightly and said softly, "You few, immediately split up and go inform His Highness the Crown Prince, as well as the princes and consorts. Tell them that I, the county princess, will be moving to a new residence in a couple of days, and ask them to bring their families to visit. I will prepare fine wine and delicacies to entertain everyone. Remember, make sure the message is delivered!"

The guards replied in unison, "Your subordinates will obey the county magistrate's orders!" Before they finished speaking, they vanished like ghosts, each going off to carry out their missions.

Immediately afterwards, Chen Mengyao gracefully turned around, her beautiful eyes fixed on Ouyang Han, and she said softly, "Ouyang Han, you must remember to tell Chang Le this news. If Father and Mother can find some free time to come, that would be wonderful. At that time, I, the county princess, will personally cook some unique and delicious dishes for them to enjoy!"

Upon hearing this, Ouyang Han dared not delay in the slightest and quickly nodded in agreement. Immediately, he beckoned to his trusted bodyguard and whispered, "Go to the palace immediately and inform the Emperor, the Princess, and all the ladies of the palace that the County Princess is about to move to her new residence. Do not make any mistakes!"

The guards, with solemn expressions, bowed and accepted the order before vanishing like ghosts, speeding towards the palace.

After giving their instructions, Chen Mengyao and Ouyang Han exchanged a glance before heading in different directions. Ouyang Han turned and walked towards the study, his tall figure gradually disappearing at the end of the corridor. Once inside, Ouyang Han sat down at the enormous desk and began to diligently work on the mountain of official duties.

Prior to this, Ouyang Han had already instructed the members of Longyuan Pavilion to conduct a thorough investigation in the capital. Now, he was concerned about the progress of the matter. Thinking of this, he decided to send a message by carrier pigeon to the head of Longyuan Pavilion to inquire about the specifics. He quickly picked up a pen and wrote a short but carefully worded letter, then tied it to the leg of a well-trained white pigeon, and with a gentle wave of his hand, sent the pigeon soaring away.

Only now, as she walked towards her room, did she feel utterly exhausted. She sighed softly and reached into her bag to take out a small bottle of Azure Elixir. The exquisite little bottle shimmered captivatingly in the sunlight, as if it contained boundless magic.

Chen Mengyao carefully opened the bottle cap, and a fresh and pleasant aroma immediately wafted out. She took a small sip of the Azure Ocean Nectar, and the sweet and mellow taste instantly spread across her tongue, sliding down her throat and into her stomach. Just moments later, she felt a cool sensation rise from her dantian, quickly spreading throughout her body, sweeping away her fatigue and instantly making her feel refreshed and energetic.

Having regained her energy, Chen Mengyao returned to her room and went straight into her spatial dimension. She took out the materials she had prepared earlier and checked them again. These were all carefully prepared for the opening of several new shops. She had previously categorized and bound them into file folders. After carefully checking and finding that nothing was missing, Chen Mengyao made several extra copies of the materials so that everyone could see them. Then, she stapled them together and placed them into different colored file folders. On each file folder, she made detailed notes in neat handwriting. As for the final names of the shops, she decided to discuss and decide on them when everyone gathered together.

After organizing the materials, she carefully checked whether the tools she had previously stockpiled for hot pot and barbecue were complete, and also silently inventoried whether the necessary seasonings and ingredients were plentiful. After a thorough sorting and confirmation, Chen Mengyao found that all the tools were in place, which made her very satisfied and at ease. She then used her mind to move all these things out of the warehouse and piled them aside. The tools and seasonings were numerous and dazzling. She had taken all of these things with her when she left the space.

Looking at the abundant items laid out before her, Chen Mengyao nodded in satisfaction. Next, after dinner, she could call Ouyang Han to go to the neighboring courtyard together. She would then ask Ouyang Han to dispatch a group of capable servants to help thoroughly clean the courtyard over the next two days, preparing for the arrival of the Crown Prince and his entourage.

Before she knew it, the sun was gradually setting and the sky was getting dark. Chen Mengyao, who had been busy for most of the day, looked out the window and realized it was time for dinner. She stretched and loosened her stiff body, then got up and went out to find Ouyang Han, intending to have dinner with him.

As night fell, the Prince's mansion was brightly lit. At dinner time, Chen Mengyao and Ouyang Han sat facing each other, the table laden with a sumptuous feast. In the warm atmosphere, Chen Mengyao gently put down her chopsticks and smiled at Ouyang Han, saying, "Yichen, I'd like to discuss something with you. Our new courtyard is all ready, but we're a little short-handed, so I was thinking of transferring some people from the mansion to help manage it."

Upon hearing this, Ouyang Han nodded slightly in agreement. His deep eyes gazed at Chen Mengyao, and he replied gently, "This matter is for you to decide, Madam. I will naturally grant your request." With that, he continued to enjoy his meal elegantly.

After dinner, Ouyang Han acted swiftly and decisively, immediately summoning all the servants of the manor to the spacious and bright hall. The servants stood respectfully in several rows, heads bowed, awaiting their master's instructions.

Ouyang Han sat upright in the grand chair at the head of the table, his gaze slowly sweeping over everyone present. Then, he cleared his throat and asked, "Gentlemen, the new courtyard needs people to serve the Princess. I wonder if any of you are willing to go? Also, if anyone is skilled in planting flowers, herbs, vegetables, fruits, etc., please inform me."

As soon as the words were spoken, a commotion arose from the crowd. Everyone eagerly spoke up, vying to express their willingness to go to the new courtyard to serve the Princess. Some servants even blushed with excitement, raising their hands and shouting, "Your Highness, we are willing to go!" In an instant, the entire hall was bustling with activity.

Faced with such an enthusiastic crowd, Ouyang Han smiled with satisfaction. However, the final choice still needed careful consideration. At this moment, the steward stepped forward, bowed to Ouyang Han, and said softly, "Your Highness, in my humble opinion, it would be better to let the Princess Consort choose a suitable candidate herself. After all, this concerns the daily operation of the new courtyard and the Princess Consort's daily life."

After a moment's thought, Ouyang Han found the steward's words quite reasonable, so he turned to Chen Mengyao and gestured for her to step forward and make her selections. Chen Mengyao moved gracefully to the front of the group. She first looked around, then began to inquire about the strengths and experience of each servant. After a thorough understanding, Chen Mengyao, on the steward's recommendation, carefully selected more than a dozen capable servants.

Of these dozen or so people, six were particularly noteworthy. Some had extensive experience in growing flowers and plants, ensuring the new courtyard was blooming beautifully in all four seasons; others were experts in fruit and vegetable cultivation, guaranteeing the princess could always enjoy fresh and delicious produce. The remaining servants also had their own strengths, some were skilled cooks, able to prepare delicious dishes for their masters; others were diligent and quick, able to keep the courtyard spotless.

After the personnel were selected, Ouyang Han stood up and addressed the crowd in a loud voice: "Those of you chosen to go to the new courtyard must serve the Princess with utmost care and diligence, without the slightest negligence. Those who perform exceptionally well will be richly rewarded by this Prince!" The servants responded in unison, their voices clear and resounding throughout the hall.
