Chapter 14 Yang Zhuo's Little Thoughts

Chapter Fourteen

Just as Yang Zhuo was feeling smug, Wang Qiang came in from outside the classroom and walked up to Yang Zhuo, saying, "Zhuozi, have you done something bad?"

Yang Zhuo was a little confused: "What do you mean?"

"Old Liu wants to see you over there. He says he needs to talk to you. You should go right away," Wang Qiang said.

Although Yang Zhuo didn't know why Lao Liu wanted to see him, he had to go no matter what since his teacher had called him.

Yang Zhuo's class was on the west side of the stairs on the third floor, while the teachers' offices were on the east side of the middle stairs on the second floor. Although both sounded a bit far, they were actually less than 100 meters apart, so Zhou Yang arrived at the office quickly.

When Yang Zhuo came in, Teacher Liu was writing something. Seeing Yang Zhuo come in, she pointed to the stool next to her and said, "You can sit there first. I have something to ask you later."

Upon hearing this, Yang Zhuo sat down in the seat indicated by Teacher Liu.

Less than two minutes later, Teacher Liu put away her notebook, took off her glasses, and said, "Yang Zhuo, I called you here today to talk about your studies."

"Study progress? Teacher Liu, why did you suddenly bring up this?" Yang Zhuo asked, puzzled.

"It wasn't entirely sudden. I was supposed to talk to you right after the exam, but I've been busy these past few days, so it's been delayed. The main reason I called you here is to ask you why your grades have improved so much all of a sudden?" Teacher Liu asked the question that had been on her mind.

"Do you suspect me of cheating?" Yang Zhuo asked.

"No, that's not it. I've seen all your test papers, and there's absolutely no trace of cheating. Besides, I heard that you always hand in your papers early during exams. These two things show that your grades are genuine, and I don't mean to doubt you. I'm just curious. Also, I'd like you to summarize your study patterns and methods over this period of time so I can try them out in class. We'll need you to give a presentation on your learning experiences and methods to improve the students' grades and efficiency. What do you think?"

Teacher Liu shared her thoughts and then looked at Yang Zhuo.

When Yang Zhuo heard Teacher Liu say that he had summarized his learning patterns and methods, he was dumbfounded. His academic performance was entirely due to the effects of the "Elementary Intelligence Pill," which was tantamount to cheating, only no one would ever find out. Now he was being asked to summarize and give a report on it. How was he supposed to write it, how was he supposed to summarize it?

Yang Zhuo scratched the back of his head and said awkwardly, "Teacher Liu, I really don't know how to write this. Although my grades have always been poor, they are not my true grades. Even my current exam score is not my true grade, so I don't know how to write this report."

Upon hearing this, Teacher Liu frowned and asked, "Are you saying that your previous poor test scores were intentional, while your good scores this time are because you studied hard and could have done even better?"

"Well, more or less. Actually, I've always studied diligently, but I didn't take the exams seriously, so I really don't know how to summarize my findings," Yang Zhuo said with a wry smile.

Teacher Liu frowned and remained silent, looking at the student in front of her who had suddenly achieved a remarkable improvement in his exam results, and began to ponder the truthfulness of his words.

He initially thought the other person had improved their grades so much by using scientific learning methods, but now the other person is saying that they were just pretending to be bad at studying before, and that what they are doing now is the truth, and that it is not their true ability.

Recalling Yang Zhuo's exam results, Teacher Liu couldn't help but doubt Yang Zhuo's statement.

After a while, Teacher Liu said, "Here's what we'll do, Yang Zhuo. I have a test paper here. Start working on it now. I want to see your actual score."

As he spoke, he took out a set of test questions from the drawer and placed them in front of Yang Zhuo.

Yang Zhuo looked at the set of test questions, nodded and said, "Teacher Liu, can I discuss something with you first?"

"What, you want to bargain with the teacher?" Teacher Liu looked at Yang Zhuo and said with a smile, "Alright, go ahead and say it."

"It's like this, Teacher Liu, my study habits have always been very independent. For example, when I was in class before, I was wondering if you could please not change my study habits in the future?"

"Tell me about your study habits first. I still don't know how you study. You don't pay attention in class and play all day, yet you still get such good grades. I really want to know what your study habits are like." Teacher Liu said with a smile, also very curious.

"Well, my learning style used to be very free, both during and after class. Even at home, my parents never forced me to study, so my learning mode has always been free. Sometimes I like to read math books during Chinese class, sometimes I like to read English books during math class, and sometimes I can skip class whenever I want. Before, because I was a poor student, the teachers didn't really care about me, as long as I didn't cause trouble. I was thinking that in the future, I might be able to arrange my own study time. I think this would be more beneficial to my learning," Yang Zhuo said.

Of course, Yang Zhuo's words were just to fool the teacher, in order to prepare for skipping classes and getting distracted in the future. Now that he had the system, it would be a waste of his life to just waste time at school.

Upon hearing this, Teacher Liu frowned. He understood what Yang Zhuo meant: he wanted a special privilege—the privilege to skip class or do other things. He was now wondering if Yang Zhuo was telling the truth. He had never encountered a student like this before, so he had absolutely no experience. Fortunately, he was a relatively open-minded teacher, knowing that the world was never short of self-taught geniuses or people with all sorts of quirks, like Chen Jingrun, who would spend several yuan to take a bus and chase after someone for a few cents. But what he wasn't sure about now was whether Yang Zhuo was telling the truth, and whether Yang Zhuo could be considered a genius student.

However, after thinking about it, Teacher Liu still wanted to advise Yang Zhuo. So she said to Yang Zhuo earnestly, "Yang Zhuo, although I don't know how effective your learning method is, I still want to advise you to be more cautious. After all, there is only a little over a month left before the college entrance examination. I still hope that you can listen to the teacher's lectures in class, maintain your current academic performance, and then improve it further. In this way, you may even be able to get into Peking University."

Yang Zhuo smiled wryly upon hearing this. It seemed that Teacher Liu did not quite believe what he had just said, so he said, "Teacher Liu, I have always been studying hard. It's just that my learning method is different from other students. Moreover, I think my learning method is better for me. I have always used this learning method. I'm afraid I won't be able to adapt if I suddenly change my learning method. So I still hope you can consider it."
