Clan Cultivation: The Ye Clan

Chapter 11 Jade Slips

After Ye Zhenwen, the older brother, told his grandfather, Ye Shibai, the grandfather looked at Ye Zhenzhen with a meaningful look and then asked her, "What did you say to the fifth brother?"

Ye Zhenzhen looked at her grandfather, who had a serious expression, and repeated what she had just said to her fifth grandfather in detail.

After Ye Zhenzhen finished speaking, the surroundings fell silent, and everyone fell into deep thought, considering how feasible this method of alchemy was.

Ye Anbo was the first to come to his senses, looking at Ye Zhenzhen seriously, "Zhen'er, are you sure you can do it this way?"

"I'm not sure," Ye Zhenzhen shook her head, then added, "Let's give it a try."

Ye Zhenzhen thought to herself, "In my past life, my greatest skills were talismans and formations. I could reach the third level. Talismans were the cheapest to learn, but formations were too expensive to buy, so I taught myself how to make them. I also knew a little about pills and weapon crafting, but I was lucky if I could reach the first level. I hadn't really studied them in detail."

Ye Anbo then looked at Ye Zhenwen and asked, "Wen'er, you've been learning alchemy here the longest. Do you think this approach is acceptable?"

Ye Zhenwen carefully reviewed the alchemy process he had learned over the years. "I can't guarantee success, but I think it's worth a try."

"Why not give it a try? The worst outcome is what we're going to do right now. Give it a shot, and maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised!" Ye Zhenrong looked at Ye Zhenzhen with a smile. This little potato has so many wonderful ideas.

When Grandpa Ye Shibai heard that everyone was so supportive, he decided that after the fifth son finished his enlightenment, he would have him arrange manpower to start trying it out.

Since he couldn't help with anything else right now, Ye Shibai told Ye Zhenwen and his sister to go home first.

When Ye Zhenzhen left, she took Ye Zhenrong with her.

On the way home after leaving the schoolyard, Ye Zhenzhen started to lash out, saying to Ye Zhenrong in an unfriendly tone, "Fifth Brother, look at my neck, doesn't it look longer today?"

Ye Zhenwen glanced at his younger sister and fifth brother, but said nothing (Ye Zhenwen was the seventh in his family).

Ye Zhenrong glanced at the little potato next to her, ignoring her sarcastic tone, "What? Don't you want yesterday's answer anymore?"

Ye Zhenzhen's expression changed instantly, a cheap smile plastered on her face. "Fifth Brother is so handsome, it's only right that we wait for him." She inwardly despised herself for being such a sycophant.

Seeing his younger sister's changed expression, Ye Zhenwen smiled. She was still so cute.

"Alright, let's get down to business," Ye Zhenrong said seriously, his earlier joking demeanor gone. "Regarding the He family, they have a few more cultivators than us, about 35 or 36. The highest cultivation level among them is Qi Refining Level 9, probably 3 or 4. This spring, a concubine's daughter from the He family married the illegitimate son of the Zhou family patriarch, so they are related by marriage."

Ye Zhenzhen: "No wonder the Zhou family turns a blind eye to the He family's actions; no wonder the He family is becoming more and more rampant."

"Where do the He family get their raw materials for refining magical artifacts? Are their finished artifacts only sold in Zhuxi County? Are there any other artifact refining families in Zhuxi County? Does the He family have any competitors?"

Ye Zhenrong: "Are you planning to cut off someone's source of income?" This little potato is quite ruthless!

"The source of the raw materials is still unknown and needs to be investigated; the sales should all be in Zhuxi County. The He family's magical artifacts sell very well in Zhuxi County. Other families that refine artifacts also do so. The city lord Zheng family has an affiliated Zhao family, which also refines artifacts, but the quality is slightly worse than that of the He family."

Ye Zhenzhen: "Then let's discuss the follow-up after we find out the source. Also, I was just thinking, aren't you the one who's supposed to handle this?" She thought to herself, "I'm still a child, I can't do this, I can't do this."

Ye Zhenwen: "Your plan is quite good, but if there's no profit to be made, the Zhao family probably won't make a move. What do you plan to use to persuade the Zhao family?"

Ye Zhenzhen: "Brother, I feel like my luck has been off the charts lately." As she spoke, she looked up at the sky, "Do you think a pie might fall from the sky and land right on my head?"

Ye Zhenwen looked at his sister with a surprised expression. "Are you kidding me?"

Ye Zhenzhen nodded with a grin, then said to Ye Zhenrong, "Fifth Brother, how do you think I'll compensate you for this long neck?"

Ye Zhenrong thought to himself, "This little potato has quite a few secrets," and said with a helpless expression, "Tell me, what do you want?"

"Hehe, Fifth Brother, I've recently become quite interested in cultivation-related strange events. Do you have any jade slips like these? Maybe ten or eight? I'd like to borrow them and take a look?" Whether she would return them or not was another matter. Ye Zhenzhen thought to herself, but didn't dare to say it out loud.

Ye Zhenrong: "Instead of cultivating properly, you're thinking about all this nonsense. I can lend it to you, but I don't have that many. I only have 5 or 6 in total. Remember to return it."

"Come on, let's go to your house to get it now." With that, Ye Zhenzhen pulled the two of them and changed direction, heading towards Ye Zhenrong's house.

Ye Zhenwen and Ye Zhenrong exchanged a glance, both seeing the helplessness in each other's eyes.

After quickly obtaining it, Ye Zhenzhen grabbed her brother and rushed home to eat and sleep.

Lying on the bed, Ye Zhenzhen could finally begin her plan. She first looked at the contents of the six jade slips given to her by her fifth brother. They were all strange tales and anecdotes from the cultivation world, which were quite interesting.

After reading them, Ye Zhenzhen got down to business. She cleared the contents of all six jade slips and then used her divine sense to input the contents into her brain one by one. After finishing the last one, she fell asleep on the bed. The last thing she thought of before falling asleep was, "That's it, I definitely won't be able to get up tomorrow morning."

Sure enough, the next day, Ye Zhenzhen, her face slightly pale, woke up in the classroom, ready to study (or sleep) again.

After school, Ye Zhenzhen rushed home and, after dinner, took out a carefully prepared storage bag and said to her mother, "Mother, this is a storage bag I found in the bear cave. There are quite a few things inside. I think it should be given to the family. Take a look."

Ye Anxin took the storage bag, looked at its contents, and said nervously that we should rest first before running out.

She must have gone to find her grandfather, Ye Zhenzhen thought, and went back to her bedroom to sleep. This time, recording so many jade slips had still damaged her spiritual consciousness. She estimated that it would take her half a month to recover. How terrible.

On the other side, Ye Shibai took the storage bag, emptied its contents, checked a jade slip, and then stopped looking at it. He sent out several transmission talismans, and within the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, Ye Shiqing, Ye Shilan, Ye Anbo, and Ye Zhenrong arrived at the council hall.

When the group saw Ye Shibai's serious expression, their hearts jumped, thinking that something serious had happened.

Ye Shibai asked everyone to sit down first, and after thinking for a moment, he said to Ye Anxin, "Go back first and bring Zhen'er over."

Upon hearing her father's words, Ye Anxin went out.

Ye Shibai then looked at everyone and said, "We'll talk all at once when Zhen'er arrives. Everyone, please sit down and wait."
