Falling into the mortal world

The entrance to the cave was quite small, so Lan Qingqing found a large rock that could be used to block it up, which made her feel safer.

Before blocking the entrance, Lan Qingqing lit a fire at the cave entrance and also processed the pheasants by the mountain spring. The spring's flow wasn't large, but it was enough to deal with the pheasants.

After tidying up, Lan Qingqing went back and roasted the pheasant. Feng Caidie cleaned up the cave and found some dry grass outside to spread on the ground. The nights in the mountains were quite cold, so Feng Caidie laid out a thick layer of dry grass, and then put on sheets and blankets.

Soon Lan Qingqing's roast chicken was ready, and Lan Qingqing called for a halt to Feng Caidie's busy work.

Feng Caidie stopped what she was doing and came over. Lan Qingqing handed her a roasted chicken. Feng Caidie took the chicken and started eating.

After finishing the pheasant, Lan Qingqing lit a large fire at the cave entrance using coarse wood so it would burn longer, at least until the latter half of the night. This would keep her warm in the cave and also scare away some wild animals.

They blocked the way with stones and then fell asleep. Lan Qingqing slept soundly because of her pregnancy. Feng Caidie, however, didn't sleep as well. Although she had lived a hard life before, she had no experience of spending the night in the deep mountains, so she was naturally a little scared.

If it weren't for Lan Qingqing by her side, Feng Caidie would probably have been scared to death long ago.

After enduring until the early hours of the morning, Feng Caidie finally succumbed to sleep.

The next day, Lan Qingqing decided to climb to the highest point. Most of the leaves on the trees had already withered and turned yellow. The mountains stretched endlessly, and even if she searched for a month, she might not be able to find the hot spring.

The area around the hot spring must be lush and green due to the suitable temperature. Lan Qingqing visually estimated which mountain was the highest and finally locked onto her target before setting off. Along the way, whenever she saw animal droppings, Lan Qingqing estimated the location of the animals and walked around them.

Upon reaching the summit, Lan Qingqing felt a cool breeze blowing. She had been sweating profusely from the climb, and the cold wind sent a shiver down her spine.

Lan Qingqing looked at the endless mountains in the distance and actually saw a lush green place.

With a clear destination in mind, the journey became much faster. Lan Qingqing and Feng Caidie walked for another two days before finally reaching their destination.

The cliff below was teeming with life. Lan Qingqing was afraid of hurting the baby if she went down the cliff; she had clearly felt the baby moving these past few days.

It's probably because Lan Qingqing has been very active these past few days, and the baby in her belly may have felt it too.

Fortunately, the babies in her womb are very strong.

She'd rather go down with her than wait here. The cliff was terrifying, but she feared even more that her daughter wouldn't come back. She didn't want to endure the pain of losing a loved one again.

Seeing that nothing she said would work, Lan Qingqing had no choice but to take them with her.

Lan Qingqing tied the vines to a thick tree, then tore the bed sheet into strips and tied them around Feng Caidie's waist and to the vines. This created a zipline, allowing them to slide down little by little. She then wrapped strips of cloth around Feng Caidie's hands so that they wouldn't hurt themselves while gripping the vines.

After tidying up Feng Caidie, Lan Qingqing tied herself up and wrapped her hands with strips of cloth. Afraid of hurting her stomach, Lan Qingqing tied the bed sheet under her armpits. She then folded the small quilts in the basket together.

It is tied around the waist to the abdomen, as there are inevitably some sharp rocks on the cliffs and steep slopes, so this can reduce the risk of injury to the abdomen.

Lan Qingqing went down the cliff first, while Feng Caidie slowly walked towards the edge of the cliff with trembling legs. By the time Feng Caidie reached the edge, Lan Qingqing had already started going down the cliff.
