Quick Transmigration: Let Me Tell You, I'm a Social Anxiety Person
Chapter 5 After being locked in a dark room by a paranoid and jealous man (5)
Wen Ying ran all the way out of the girls' dormitory before realizing that Chi Ye hadn't made any arrangements with her over the phone to meet somewhere.
It was the time when freshmen were leaving their evening self-study sessions. The streetlights were on on both sides of the road, and students carrying backpacks passed by from time to time. She stopped and belatedly felt nervous.
Because she was wearing too few clothes, a gust of cold wind made Wen Ying sneeze.
Just as I was hesitating whether to go back to the dormitory, a jacket was suddenly draped over my shoulders.
There was also the sound of something falling from the sky and landing on one's head.
"You ran so fast," Ikeno said calmly, "your hair is all messed up."
The sudden warmth enveloped her, and Wen Ying was momentarily dazed, but Chi Ye did not reach out to smooth the stray hairs at her temples as she had anticipated.
He stood still, a distance between them, and made no further inappropriate moves after putting his coat on her.
So Wen Ying tidied her hair herself.
Chi Ye handed her the phone, speaking in a businesslike tone: "I found it at the entrance of the cafeteria. I wanted to call you, but you had already gone far away. I checked it, and the outer membrane is a bit dented."
Wen Ying thanked him, and as she spoke, her gaze lingered on Chi Ye's neck, as usual.
The system's intermittent, fragmented voice echoed in my mind: "You need to look him in the eye to sound sincere!"
Wen Ying felt that she couldn't do it yet, and was worried that Chi Ye would deduct points from her because of it.
But Ikeno didn't. He pulled up a QR code: "Want to add me as a friend?"
Wen Ying: "Add!"
Scan the QR code to add verification information – all done in one smooth motion.
The system murmured: "[With the male lead actively asking if you want to add him as a friend, who's actually pursuing whom?]"
Wen Ying, however, was happily thinking about something else: "If we add each other as friends, we can chat online, and we won't have to create so many opportunities to meet!"
system:……
It really wants to complain: you didn't create any of these opportunities to meet, did you?
"Let's go back." Ikeno put away his phone.
Wen Ying nodded, then suddenly remembered she was still wearing his coat: "Your clothes..."
"Wear it, the pajamas are a bit thin."
After Ikeno finished speaking, he turned and left.
Wen Ying returned to her dormitory, where Yu Qing was waiting at the door.
Upon seeing her return, his gaze immediately fell on the coat Wen Ying was wearing.
"What's wrong? You found a phone, and now you're wearing an extra layer of clothing?" Yu Qing lifted the obviously oversized sleeve of her black coat. "It's a man's."
Upon hearing this, the remaining two roommates also poked their heads out from the top bunk.
"Does Aying have a boyfriend?" Jiang Xue asked.
“Then who was Aying talking to on the phone earlier? It must have been her boyfriend,” Lu Xi said. “You’re so out of the loop.”
"So this outfit also belongs to your boyfriend? Your boyfriend picked up your phone?" Jiang Xue asked again.
Wen Ying scratched her head, feeling that explaining it to them would be a bit complicated, so she just smiled and didn't say anything.
Her roommates were used to it and assumed she was just shy about talking about relationships. None of them were particularly gossipy, so after they finished chatting, they went back to bed to do their own things.
Wen Ying washed her hands, found a clothes hanger to hang Chi Ye's coat, turned off the light, and climbed back into bed.
She hugged a pillow, turned on her phone in the dark, and went to her friends list.
Ikeno's friend is a new addition, listed first. Her name is Ikeno, and her profile picture is a half-moon hanging above a treetop. It looks like a casual snapshot, but it has a lot of artistic conception.
Wen Ying clicked into his Moments, which was empty with nothing in it; the background was pure black.
Wen Ying stared at the black for a few seconds when her phone suddenly vibrated. Chi Ye had sent her a question mark.
She returned to the dialog box and found a new message in the blank space.
“wyy” patted “池野”.
It was probably accidentally touched while viewing profile pictures.
Wen Ying thought for a moment and decided not to explain, but instead replied, "I'll wash the coat and give it to you tomorrow?"
A few seconds later, Ikeno sent a screenshot of the weather forecast.
“It’s going to rain,” he said succinctly.
It rained for three days in a row, and the fourth day was cloudy, so the washed coat wouldn't dry.
Wen Ying unconsciously twirled a stray strand of hair by her ear, unsure how to reply.
The system in her mind was exasperated: "[Do you really have to wash it before giving it back to him? Do you know how suggestive it is to leave your body heat on the male lead's clothes? How can you be so obsessive about cleanliness!]"
Wen Ying: [Just a heads-up, it's true that my OCD can't stand it...]
She didn't reply for a long time, and Ikeno stopped sending messages.
The dialog box fell into an eerie silence.
At this moment, Zhao Qi sent her a voice message.
The surroundings were quiet, and Wen Ying hung up.
She typed back: "The dormitory lights are out."
Scrolling up, I saw that there were still many unread messages in the chat box.
Judging from the time, it must have been during the brief interval when she lost her phone.
After returning to his dorm, Zhao Qi apologized to her and said that the date experience was terrible and he wanted to reschedule.
Wen Ying hadn't replied because she'd lost her phone, so he tried video calling her, but of course, the call didn't go through.
The phone vibrated again. Zhao Qi asked, "Are you angry with me? Angry that I left right after dinner without waiting for you?"
Wen Ying said, "No."
She didn't seem to mind at all; after all, it's only natural to feel embarrassed and lose face.
She explained to Zhao Qi that she hadn't replied to his messages before because her phone was missing.
Zhao Qi insisted that she was simply unhappy and took her quietness as a sign of being petty.
"Baby, answer my call!" Zhao Qi seemed to be immersed in the drama of a gentle boyfriend and a dramatic girlfriend, relentlessly continuing to send messages, "How am I supposed to coax you if you don't answer my calls?"
Wen Ying's phone vibrated repeatedly, and the system notification sounded: [Answer it, the male lead should be in his dorm right now.]
Wen Ying didn't want to answer: [If he hears me talking to Zhao Qi, won't he deduct points from my score again?]
There was one more thing she didn't say: she really didn't like talking on the phone. Why not just type things out? Why make it awkward to hear other people's voices?
The system said: [My ancestor, it's no longer a matter of deducting points. The problem now is that there's absolutely no progress between you and the male lead. Believe me, opportunities are created. This tactic is called retreating to advance, striking from afar!]
The system continued to encourage: "Furthermore, I've already checked the point deduction issue last time. Our system doesn't have a setting to reduce favorability; the values either accumulate or stagnate. So, the two points you lost and then regained were probably just a bug."
"A bug...?" Wen Ying answered the phone as the system urged her.
"Yingying, my darling." Zhao Qi's voice immediately came through the receiver, his tone sweet and sticky.
Wen Ying quickly put on her headphones.
"Still not saying anything." Zhao Qi chuckled. "My darling looks so cute when she's sulking."
Wen Ying was already feeling a bit helpless. She asked in the dormitory group chat and, after learning that her roommates were still awake, she replied, "I'm really not angry."
Zhao Qi immediately replied, "You're just saying one thing and meaning another. I really can't do anything with you."
Wen Ying: "..." Try pretending to be a doting boyfriend again and see what happens!
Zhao Qi: "Then let me show you. You won't be angry when you see your boyfriend's face."
After Zhao Qi finished speaking, he turned on the camera.
The lights in their dormitory were still on when Wen Ying's phone screen suddenly lit up, making her squint.
Zhao Qi sat under the bed: "By the way, look, I also have a hat from this brand. Isn't it much better looking than your roommate's? How about I give it to you?"
Wen Ying looked at him with some confusion as he fiddled with the obviously used hat on his head, and was about to say, "Why are you giving me something you've used?"
There was a sudden movement behind Zhao Qi, and Wen Ying then realized that there was someone sitting below.
Ikeno got up from his seat and began to take off his shirt without saying a word.
