Quick Transmigration: Let Me Tell You, I'm a Social Anxiety Person
Chapter 33 After being locked in a dark room by a paranoid and jealous man (33)
System: [Now it's your time to shine! Good luck, I believe in you.]
Wen Ying remained silent, trying to look down at Chi Ye's other house through the window in front of her. Chi Ye had mentioned before that he had planted many new flowers and plants on the balcony of his study, and Wen Ying wanted to know how they were growing.
There's also the hanging chair that Ikeno bought, which should be installed in the study where sunlight streams in right now. Lying on it, whether reading or taking a nap, should be very comfortable.
Unfortunately, Wen Ying didn't have a chance to try. Chi Ye locked her in a room she had never visited before. The room was airtight and she couldn't find her way downstairs.
Wen Ying stood quietly by the window for a few minutes before turning around to face the camera behind her.
Her dark eyes gleamed with a faint red light. She adjusted her expression to one of thoughtful confusion mixed with a hint of fear, and tilted her head back to speak softly, "Ikeno?"
"is it you?"
No one answered; the room was completely silent, even the hum of the electricity was faint.
Wen Ying wandered aimlessly around the room for a while, then picked up her phone and glanced at the time, which showed that it was 3 p.m.
She tried sending messages to several contacts, but her phone lost signal after she entered the room.
Wen Ying's fingers paused on the three keys "110".
System: [Uh, isn't that unnecessary...]
Despite the system's hesitant advice, Wen Ying pressed the dial button but still couldn't get through.
The system immediately breathed a sigh of relief: [That scared me to death! This male lead is actually quite capable.]
Wen Ying, however, was thinking about something else: "You said I could connect to the downstairs Wi-Fi password? I remember Chi Ye gave me the password before. Oh, and did he install a signal jammer in his room? Won't that jammer affect the building's signal reception? And also, won't the surveillance cameras drop out?"
System: [...You have a strong thirst for knowledge.]
Wen Ying spent the afternoon pacing back and forth in the room, occasionally saying angry lines like "You are illegally imprisoning me" to the monitor.
People occasionally walked along the path outside the window, and birds flapped their wings as they flew through the fading sunlight. Wen Ying's room was bright, spacious, and undisturbed, like a lonely island.
As night fell, she finally felt a bit hungry and called Chi Ye's name again into the bedroom monitor, but there was still no response.
The kitchen was fully equipped. She rummaged through the ingredients in the refrigerator and was eventually drawn to a light blue lunchbox hidden behind a strawberry milk. There was a note stuck on the lunchbox.
Ikeno wrote on it: "You'll like it."
"Will I like it?" Wen Ying weighed the lunchbox in her hand. Instead of opening it immediately, she threw the lunchbox and the note into the trash can while facing the camera next to the refrigerator.
"Chi Ye." Wen Ying's annoyed voice carried a hint of regret for wasting food, because she was really hungry.
"You locked me up and even prepared food for me to get. Do you think this is like raising a cat? I'm a person, not your pet."
She walked to the door and turned the handle again: "I have important things to do tonight, you have to let me out."
The door lock remained firmly in place. Wen Ying checked her phone again, trying to send a message to Xu Che. She typed in the input box: "I broke our promise. Something came up here. I'm sorry, you'll have to do the filming all by yourself."
The second message was sent to Jiang Xue: "He actually treated me like this. I really misjudged him."
The third message was sent to Yu Qing: "I should listen to you. My junior brother is clearly more innocent. Chi Ye can get along with Zhao Qi. What kind of good person could he be?"
The overhead camera silently recorded everything.
Without exception, every message in the chat box was marked with a red exclamation mark. Wen Ying threw her phone aside, sat on the ground, hugged her knees, and her eyes gradually reddened in the darkness. She buried her face in her knees, and her shoulders trembled.
The system offered timely encouragement: "[You acted so well, I want to buy a bucket of popcorn now.]"
Wen Ying wiped away the tears that had streamed down her chin: "I'm already like this, why hasn't he shown up yet?"
She sent text messages to her love rival, said all the bad things she wanted to say, and even brought up Zhao Qi to put down Chi Ye, but Chi Ye himself stubbornly refused to show up.
Wen Ying couldn't figure out where things had gone wrong.
The system is also considering: "Could it be that you're sitting too close to the door, and the male lead is worried that you'll run away without looking back as soon as he opens it?"
Wen Ying:......
That can't be, she's not that agile.
Besides, Chino looks tall and strong; he could easily lift her back with one hand.
Despite her complaints, she still moved a little further inside.
"Never mind, I'll wait a bit longer."
Time seemed to drag on in the silence. There was no internet in the house, and there were many books on the cabinet next to the TV, but Wen Ying had no intention of using them to pass the time. She waited in the dark for a long time, and finally felt a little scared, so she stood up and turned on all the lights in the room.
Wen Ying continued to rant and ramble on into the monitor, circling the room again and again. Suddenly, she realized that her behavior didn't seem like acting; it really resembled that of an animal that had been kept in a zoo for a long time and developed stereotypical behaviors.
A wave of hunger washed over her, and she couldn't stand it any longer, so she reached into the cupboard and grabbed a box of instant noodles.
Unexpectedly, there was also a note on the instant noodle box. Ikeno wrote: "Looks like he prefers to make trouble for himself."
Wen Ying: "..."
Well, I didn't expect Ikeno to have such a dry sense of humor.
After adding ham to her instant noodles, Wen Ying went on to open two more cans of strawberry milk.
Holding a steaming bowl of rice, she defiantly took a big bite in front of the surveillance camera: "Who's asking for trouble? This instant noodle smells much better than your cooking, okay? I love instant noodles, I'm willing to eat instant noodles every day. Your cooking can stay in the trash can until the New Year."
Back in the bedroom, the lights on the opposite building were gradually coming on. One family hadn't drawn their curtains, and many people were walking around inside, as if they were having a meal. Several men were smoking on the balcony.
Wen Ying tried tapping on the glass, then took out some brightly colored clothes from her wardrobe and waved them around. She also took out her lipstick from her bag and drew a huge "SOS" on the windowpane.
The person on the other end didn't react at all. Even though the lights were on in Wen Ying's room, the other person couldn't see anything in the dark.
The windows in this house should be one-way and very soundproof; Wen Ying even suspects they could be bulletproof.
