This Life's Song: The Genius Rune Master
Chapter 86 First Impression ~ (Bad)
If the symbol of a sect can be easily destroyed, then that sect can only be looked down upon. It is a special symbol that represents a glorious historical milestone.
Jingwei, fuming, gave up struggling. Suddenly, she looked up and stared at Lianxue. "Did you already see through me? Then why are you laughing at me?" After saying that, Jingwei chased after Lianxue to hit her.
Seeing this, Lianxue hurriedly ran over, "I was just guessing! Thanks to your experiment, hahaha!"
"You still dare to talk back." And so, one chased and the other ran, the two of them playfully fighting as they went their separate ways.
At the bottom of the mountain road, a man accompanied by two people strolled leisurely over.
The man, dressed in purple and tall and slender, walked in front, with two other people following beside him.
The three of them chatted as they walked.
Qi Nianbei gazed at every blade of grass and tree within the Guiyuan Sect, his eyes deep and thoughtful, lost in thought.
The person on the left was talking non-stop, but Qi Nianbei's thoughts were wandering and she wasn't listening at all.
"Nianbei, did you hear what I said?" the man on the left asked, shaking his hand helplessly in front of Qi Nianbei's eyes.
Qi Nianbei snapped out of her reverie, "Huh? What?"
The man looked utterly dejected. "I said, what do you want to learn first? I'd like to hear your opinion," he said, pausing between each sentence.
He was finally convinced of his own incomprehension; after all that rambling, the other person hadn't heard a thing.
The man on the right chuckled and joked, "Go do whatever you like. Maybe Nianbei is just having a crush, why bother him?" He then winked at the other person.
Qi Nianbei swallowed back what she wanted to say after they rambled on.
"I think you two are asking for a beating, huh?" With that, she kicked out, and the man on the right bent over and almost fell down, before straightening up and running away as fast as he could.
He kept saying, "Oh dear! See~ I hit the nail on the head, you're all furious and embarrassed, run! You're going to kill me!"
Another man scratched his head, pleading, "I wasn't talking about you, so please don't hurt me." After saying that, he glanced cautiously at Qi Nianbei, turned and ran without looking back, letting out a crisp laugh.
"You two are infuriating! I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget! Don't run away if you dare!" Qi Nianbei pointed at the two of them and chased after them.
Lianxue and her companion arrived at the Talisman Hall, the place where talismanic arts were taught. This hall also had different levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced, and so on...
Lianxue was not so arrogant as to think that her knowledge was invincible. She preferred to learn from the strengths of others, increase her experience, and broaden her horizons.
Jingwei was originally interested in elixirs, but she was also curious about talisman knowledge, and finally decided to come and listen to talisman knowledge with Lianxue.
Afterwards, the two went to the Dan Hall to listen to the lectures.
The two entered the talisman hall, which was already filled with about a hundred people. They found a corner and sat down quietly, as there were multiple doors, so they didn't disturb the instructor's lecture.
After taking their seats, they heard the instructor's introduction, including a summary of the talisman, key points, the amount of spiritual power used, the concentration of cinnabar, and the planning for each stroke.
Lianxue was already familiar with these things, but she still listened attentively, afraid of missing even the slightest detail.
Jingwei listened attentively at first, but soon she began to doze off.
I saw her head drop down a little, then lift up, then lower again and try to open her eyes. The instructor was lecturing with great enthusiasm when he suddenly looked up and saw a girl dozing off in the far corner. Her eyes were cold and sharp, and she slammed her lesson plan on the table with a loud bang.
Jingwei was trying her best to stay awake when she was startled by the sound.
This caused her to stand up abruptly. Looking into her mentor's cold and sharp eyes, she involuntarily shivered, clearly frightened.
Everyone followed the instructor's gaze and saw a girl looking at him with a bewildered expression and wide eyes.
Because everyone was listening to the instructor's lecture, they only realized what was happening when the instructor got angry and threw his book. By the time they turned around, the girl had already stood up.
But everyone understood why: because what Professor Lin hated most was when someone wasn't paying attention and was sleeping during her classes.
It's no wonder the mentor was so angry that it was discovered today.
Lianxue noticed everyone's gaze and realized that they were looking at Jingwei. She frowned.
"I've said it before," Professor Lin said sternly. "Not paying attention in my class is disrespectful and shows a lack of respect for me. If you think you're better than me, then you can arrogantly say you want to have a match with me. If you beat me, fine, but otherwise, please leave and don't let me see you again."
Lian Xue frowned even more deeply. Her first impression of this mentor could be summed up in one word: terrible. She still pleaded, "Please, Mentor Lin, have mercy. We are newcomers and don't know the rules. This won't happen again."
Jingwei nodded repeatedly, indicating that she would never do it again and would definitely listen attentively in class from now on.
But was that really the case? Lin, the mentor, became even angrier. "If every newcomer is like this, where is my dignity as a mentor? Does that mean newcomers can do whatever they want? You're not welcome here, please leave."
When Instructor Lin heard that they were newcomers, she became even more furious. Why should she be the one to teach these ignorant newcomers? Newcomers should act like newcomers. If she didn't curb their arrogance, what would they do in the future?
I thought it in my heart and said it out loud, without any hesitation.
Upon hearing this, Jingwei became anxious. "Teacher Lin, I did not disrespect you. Please forgive me. If I am leaving, I will leave alone. Please do not involve her. I am very grateful."
At this moment, Jingwei felt a little guilty. Why did she have to fall asleep at the wrong time and drag Lianxue into it? She felt a little ashamed and uneasy.
Looking at the two of them, Lin, who was intentionally trying to suppress them, was unlikely to back down.
Lianxue wasn't one to abandon her friends. Seeing that Instructor Lin wasn't willing to let it go, she stood up, took Jingwei's hand, and bowed to the instructor. "Instructor Lin, we're sorry to have disturbed you. Please continue. We'll leave together." Although she didn't like this instructor, she still had to observe proper etiquette.
After Lianxue finished speaking, she grabbed Jingwei and left without any politeness.
Instructor Lin added, "I don't want to see you again. I hope you won't be in my classes in the future." Because Lianxue had left, she couldn't say anything else, so she could only say this.
Lianxue had her back to Instructor Lin, and Jingwei stopped and was about to turn around. This kind of instructor really didn't get the position through connections.
Lianxue quickly pulled Jingwei back, fearing she would act impulsively. Jingwei tried to turn around, but Lianxue supported the back of her head with one hand, and the two left the classroom.
Stepping out of the classroom, Jingwei broke free from Lianxue's grasp. "Why won't you let me speak? What kind of lousy teacher is this? She won't let us come back. Even if she begs me, I won't come back. What kind of person is she? How can she be a teacher? She looks down on people like that. I just dozed off for a bit, it's not a big deal. Is it really necessary to make such a fuss? Bah!"
Jingwei vented her anger for a while, her chest heaving violently, clearly quite furious.
"And why did she kick you out too? This is clearly bullying and tyranny on her part."
Lianxue patted her back to soothe her emotions. Seeing that she had calmed down, she said, "I'm fine. At worst, I won't study here anymore. I don't like this instructor either. Aren't there other learning programs in the sect, and many other instructors? We'll have many more options after leaving here. Let's go to the next place."
