Lianxue was a little confused because she had just woken up and hadn't figured out what was going on.

Bai put down her work and came over. "The child is awake. Here, have some water first." She poured some water from the kettle and handed it to Lianxue.

"Glug~ glug," Lian Xue finished the water in two gulps. "Thank you, can you tell me where this is?"

Bai looked at Lianxue with a loving expression and said, "This is Fengyu Town, and you are currently in our Xiahe Village."

After drinking the water and recovering somewhat, Lianxue asked again, "How did I get here?"

"I know that, I'll tell you."

"I was cultivating by the river when I saw you and that woman. You were caught in a fishing net by the river, and the people from our village rescued you," Qing Shu continued, gesturing as she spoke.

Lianxue wondered who she was with. Peeking through the gap between the two, she saw a bed opposite them, with someone lying on it, fast asleep.

She realized she was on a soft couch by the window, and upon closer inspection, she saw that the person on the bed opposite her was Li Zhenzhen.

Lianxue was very surprised. She remembered being tricked and knocked unconscious by Xia Lan. How could Li Zhenzhen appear?

Lianxue asked in confusion, "Then what about her?..."

"She's carrying you on her back, she's tying you to her back. Don't you recognize her?" Qing Shu was also confused.

"I know her. I was knocked unconscious by bad guys, and I don't know what happened after that." Lianxue looked at Li Zhenzhen, whose face was pale with a hint of purple. She knew that Li Zhenzhen had been poisoned, probably because of her, otherwise she wouldn't have kept it from her.

"How is she?" Lianxue asked again.

Bai said, "Don't worry, it should be curable, but not yet." He shook his head.

"Then I thank you for saving us." Lianxue said, getting up to bow.

Bai Shi supported Lian Xue's shoulder, saying, "Miss, there's no need for that. We were just doing what we could."

Lianxue didn't insist, "Then how should I address you?"

He stood up and asked how to address her.

Qingshu replied, "My surname is Bai, and my name is Bai Qingshu. Bai means daytime, Qing means clear sky, and Shu means virtuous woman."

"This is my mother, everyone calls her Bai Shi."

Mrs. Bai said, "Child, if you'd like, just call me Aunt Bai."

"Yes, Aunt Bai, Sister Qingshu, thank you," Lianxue said sweetly.

Lianxue thought for a moment and then said, "By the way, you can call me Lianxue, Lian as in lotus and Xue as in snow."

"That older sister is Li Zhenzhen, Li as in 'precious' and Zhen as in 'cherish'." Because she remembered Xia Lan's mockery, "You think you're precious Zhen? Humph, you should be called 'cheap and mean'." The two even had a fight because of this, but it was just a minor squabble.

"Wow, your names are all very nice. Lianxue, let's cultivate together from now on." Qingshu pulled Lianxue over.

"I'm going to get busy, you two chat." Seeing that there was nothing else to do, Bai left.

"Okay, Aunt Bai." Lian Xue

After watching Bai leave, Lianxue pulled Qingshu aside and said, "I'll go see Sister Zhenzhen first."

"Mmm~ Mmm." Qing Shu.

Lianxue got closer and saw clearly that Li Zhenzhen's face was very pale. "Sister Zhenzhen, how did you get so badly injured?" She couldn't help but feel a pang of sorrow.

Qingshu said, "Mr. Lian said that my sister was whipped and the wound was poisoned, which should be from the whip."

“Oh! By the way, Mr. Lian is a doctor, and we are used to calling him ‘Mr.’” Qing Shu added.

Lianxue looked at Li Zhenzhen. She hadn't expected that Li Zhenzhen would be so badly injured while trying to save her. But why didn't she ask for help when there were so many people around?

He was filled with doubt, but there was no one who could answer him at the moment. He would only know the answer when Li Zhenzhen woke up.

They gently and quietly tucked Li Zhenzhen in with the corner of the blanket.

Lianxue looked at Qingshu and said, "Let's go outside and talk."

"it is good."

The two arrived in the courtyard, and Lianxue saw a row of neat houses, which she found quite special.

"Sister Qingshu, can you take me to where we appeared?" Lianxue looked at the unfamiliar surroundings and thought for a moment, then decided to go and see where she had appeared.

"Okay, Lianxue, let's go." Qingshu took Lianxue's hand and walked towards the crossroads.

"See that crossroads? There's a river to the south. Our village is called Xiahe Town because of this river." Qingshu said as the two walked to the crossroads.

"Oh! Qingshu, is this the girl from yesterday? Has she woken up?" Fei'er happened to be passing by and saw Qingshu leading the little girl over.

"Yes, Aunt Fei, her name is Lianxue. She just woke up. Let's go to the river to see her," Qingshu replied politely.

Then she turned back to Lianxue and introduced her, "This is Aunt Fei."

"Hello, Aunt Fei."

"Hey~ I'm fine, you guys go ahead and don't mind me." Fei'er said, but didn't leave, standing there watching the two of them.

"Then, Aunt Fei, let's go." Qing Shu said politely, and led Lian Xue to the riverbank.

Lianxue saw a wooden bridge ahead, with water flowing gently beneath it, just like the saying "small bridge and flowing water".

"Is this where we were found?" Lianxue asked.

"Yes, this is it. You don't know, I had just finished my cultivation and turned around and saw a fishing net. Out of curiosity, I went over to take a look, and I was so scared..." Qing Shu looked like she was still shaken.

Lianxue: "And then?"

"Then, I screamed in fright, and then all the villagers came over. When the village chief arrived, he asked Brother Da Niu to check what was going on, and then he found that you were all fine."

"My mother and I have decided to let you stay at our house to recover." Qing Shu said, glancing at Lian Xue, thinking to herself, "We're not bad people, don't overthink it."

Lianxue thought about what Qingshu had said, and she thought that she would probably be frightened if she were in Qingshu's shoes.

Then Qing Shu continued, "Look, it's that net that's entangled you."

In the distance, there was a net, which was torn and hung on a tree.

Lianxue was even more puzzled. Why were they unharmed after being in the river for so long? She frowned.

"By the way, is this place far from Ghost Forest?" Lianxue asked.

Qingshu thought for a moment and said, "It's quite far. There's a town to the south of our village. It's about a two-day and one-night journey to Guisen from the southeast of the town."

"How long would it take to fly on a sword?" Lianxue looked southeast.

Qing Shu spoke frankly and without reservation, saying, "This will probably take a day and a night, since spiritual energy is limited and can't be output continuously."

"Yes, it takes that long." She said, but her mind was even more puzzled. Since it was so far away, and the place she was from before was far from the town, how did she manage to get here safely?

"Shall we go back now?" Qing Shu asked uncertainly.

"Okay, let's go back. We didn't find anything." Lianxue nodded, and the two walked back.

Many people greeted and showed concern along the way.

As soon as the two entered the courtyard, an elderly man with a cane came out to greet them.

Qingshu quickly greeted him, "Hello, Grandpa Mo."

"Hello, young lady," Old Mo replied with a smile.

"Lianxue, this is the village chief I mentioned before, Grandpa Mo." He then introduced him to Lianxue.

Lianxue bowed and said, "Grandpa Mo, thank you for saving me."

"This child, there's no need for that. It's good that you've woken up." Old Mo stroked his beard with a smile.

Bai came out and said, "Your Grandpa Mo just came to see if you were awake. He was about to go back when he saw you weren't there."

"Grandpa Mo, if you have nothing else to do, would you please come inside and sit down? I have some questions I'd like to ask you, and I would appreciate your help." Lian Xue invited him politely.
