Martial Arts Crossover: Something's Wrong with This Evil Sect

Chapter 2: The Adventure at the Bottom of the Cliff? The same old formula.

At the foot of Fanzi Cliff.

A solitary, withered tree clung to the cliff face, and a ragged figure could be vaguely seen among its branches and leaves. A black fist mark on its chest was particularly conspicuous, and black energy was constantly approaching its heart.

This person is Zhang Feiyu, the only survivor of Tianbao Village. The Blissful Ghost King Fist that he was hit by was created by the Blissful Valley Master.

This technique is extremely vicious and cruel. Even if both sides have the same skill level, they will still be injured by its shock if they can circulate their energy to counterattack in time.

Those with weaker skills would only feel a sudden heat in their body, and their internal organs would immediately perforate. Within an hour, they would die from the fire poison attacking their heart!

Because of its proximity to the Tang Clan, the bottom of Fanzi Cliff is perpetually shrouded in poisonous fog. Zhang Feiyu was quite lucky, as he was caught by a pine tree half a meter above the fog.

Suddenly, a few low "Jiang Ang, Jiang Ang" sounds came from the bottom of the cliff. A small toad hopped up and down the pine tree. Its whole body was as red as blood, but its eyes were flashing with golden light, as if it was attracted by some kind of aura on Zhang Feiyu. The little toad's belly was swollen, as if it was pregnant.

The little toad opened its big mouth and bit down hard on the fist mark on its chest. It slowly sucked as its belly rose and fell. Strangely enough, the fire poison that had been spreading towards its heart was slowly fading away.

After a long while, the little toad smacked its lips and left satisfied. The fist marks on Zhang Feiyu's body disappeared, and his skin returned to its normal color.

June weather is as unpredictable as a child's face; it changes in an instant.

The once clear and sunny weather suddenly turned cloudy, and a light drizzle began to fall.

Rain lashed against Zhang Feiyu's face. He coughed a few times, shook his head, opened his eyes, and looked around at the surrounding cliffs. He was now hanging on a withered tree, the branches creaking and swaying precariously.

"Where am I?" Zhang Feiyu thought for a moment and finally remembered that he had jumped down because he was forced to the brink of death and had nowhere to run.

"It's truly my destiny to survive! Wait, what's that?"

As Zhang Feiyu's gaze darted around, he suddenly saw a cave below that was as tall as a person.

The cave entrance, which was usually covered by toxic fog, was now slightly revealed by the rain.

A faint light shone from inside the cave, while the outside appeared to be deserted, overgrown with weeds.

This discovery gave Zhang Feiyu a jolt of joy.

"Could it really be true that those who survive a great calamity are destined for good fortune? The stories say that there are always extraordinary encounters in the caves at the bottom of cliffs! I have to go and see; who knows, I might just find something that can help me get revenge!"

He gritted his teeth, preparing to use his last bit of strength to jump off the pine tree.

However, as soon as he exerted force, a piercing pain came from his left ankle; he had twisted it!

"I twisted my ankle jumping off a cliff! But thankfully, I'm mostly okay." With a determined look, he strained, using the strength of his right foot.

With a muffled thud, he landed perfectly in a "T" shape, slowly got up, and limped towards the cave.

The closer you get to the cave, the brighter the light becomes.

Upon closer inspection, the cave was indeed a hidden paradise, quite spacious, with many fireflies dancing on the grass, emitting a soft glow.

"So it's the light from fireflies." Zhang Feiyu looked at the fireflies in front of him.

He tore off his clothes, wrapped the fireflies in them to make a makeshift lantern, and carefully examined the cave to see if there were any other traces. He also wanted to find a place to rest and recover his strength.

As he looked around, he suddenly noticed a sword mark on a wall.

He carefully followed the sword marks, and soon a wider cave came into view. In the center of the cave stood a pile of rocks, which looked very much like a tomb. He couldn't help but feel a chill and thought, "It seems that this is the location of a tomb. I wonder what kind of person the owner of this tomb is?"

Looking up and around, I glimpsed what appeared to be writing on the cave wall beside me, but it was covered in dust and moss and was not clearly visible in the darkness.

Picking up the homemade firefly lantern, I wiped away the moss on the cave wall, revealing several lines of writing. The characters were very fine, yet deeply embedded in the stone, clearly carved with an extremely sharp weapon. It read:

"I abandoned my sword to enter the world of martial arts, exchanging my own hands for those of my own. Defeat? I have already won! Who says there are no true men in the marketplace! The world of martial arts has no useless things, they are left for those destined to find them."

The signature below reads: "Go to hell, you old geezer."

"So this place is not a burial ground, but the place where our predecessor abandoned his sword."

Since it's reserved for those destined to be there, my arrival here today must also be the will of Heaven. I couldn't bear to see your martial arts buried in the wilderness, senior. Please forgive my rudeness!

Zhang Feiyu's heart stirred. He apologized as he impatiently dug through the rubble, wanting to see what was left for the destined person.

As the rubble was quickly cleared away, a box appeared before Zhang Feiyu's eyes, containing a sharp sword, a sword manual, and a pill.

He eagerly opened the sword case, inside which lay a gleaming, sharp sword. Its body was a deep, dark green, the blade was light and sharp, and a chill emanated from it. It was clearly a rare and excellent sword.

The elixir had an enticing fragrance; even a slight sniff made one's inner energy begin to stir.

A small note was left beside it, which read: "Jade Soul Condensing Light Sword, Shaolin Great Rejuvenation Pill, Heavenly Heart Sword Manual, given to those who are destined to receive them."

"It seems my opportunity has arrived!"

Overjoyed, Zhang Feiyu reached out and grabbed the Jade Soul Condensing Light Sword. He immediately felt a chilling sensation coming from the hilt, and the cold air almost caused him to drop the sword.

"What a fine sword! It even exudes a chilling aura. No wonder the Great Rejuvenation Pill and the sword manual are so well preserved."

After saying that, he picked up the Great Rejuvenation Pill and swallowed it without hesitation. The moment he swallowed it, warm currents surged through his body, like a torrent formed by countless streams, rapidly repairing his injuries and gradually increasing his internal strength.

The previously unopened Shaoyang Meridian of Hand was broken through like a flood bursting its banks. When the medicinal effect was exhausted, it combined with a crimson true energy in the body and rushed directly towards the Ren and Du meridians.

After opening the Ren meridian, he reached the level of a top master in one fell swoop, and his internal energy finally returned to calm, without any more turbulent waves.

"Unfortunately, he's still a little short; he hasn't reached the Innate Realm yet!"

Feeling the power within his body, Zhang Feiyu murmured to himself, "I'm already content. I thought I had reached a dead end, but I never expected to find a way out of this predicament! Life's circumstances are truly wondrous."

After recovering through meditation, he unfolded the sword manual and was surprised to find that it only contained three moves. Each move was vividly drawn on the paper, like a child's drawing book, completely unlike ordinary sword manuals.

In the painting, a swordsman who looks like a commoner is clumsily practicing his swordsmanship. Although his movements seem comical, a closer look reveals that each move is perfectly natural!

.....

The next day, on Fanzi Cliff.

Dan Tianxie and a hundred disciples who rushed over from the Poison Envoy overnight. These disciples had all grown up in the Gu poison, making them immune to all poisons.

"For a mere remnant of Tianbao Village to personally take action, just for this spirit of leading from the front, my admiration for the young master is as boundless as a surging river." Zhou Wuse, one of the Five Wanderers of Bliss who accompanied him, said with a beaming smile.

He showed none of the arrogance of a top master.

"Ahem, Lao Zhou, what you said is true, but we should still keep a low profile!"

Dan Tianxie pretended to be serious and said, "Only by becoming a heretic can you know that there are many talented people in heretics, and they all speak very nicely."

"Hehe, the young master's excellence is like the sun, it can't be hidden! I'm not just praising him, I'm simply speaking out for justice!"

Zhou Wuse's face was full of conviction, and his sincerity was truly indescribable.

Ji Wuming, standing to the side, remained expressionless, inwardly despising him for his constant flattery, unlike himself who only did practical work!

Looking at the two, Shan Tianxie was filled with emotion. In the vast Bliss Valley, the only confidants he could count were the Five Wanderers of Bliss.

These five wandering masters of bliss were the start-up capital given to him by his elder brother. Even the worst of them were top-level experts, just half a step away from the innate realm. Each of them had been through countless battles, and it took his elder brother several years to gather the five wandering masters.

He then waved his hand, stopping Zhou Wuse from continuing. The hundred disciples behind him automatically split into two teams, one of which slowly climbed down the cliff face along the rope.

The remaining fifty disciples stood guard on the cliff top, constantly observing the surroundings. If they discovered anything unusual, they would immediately pull their fellow disciples up from below.

Everything went smoothly, and soon a disciple came up to report.

"Reporting to the young master, we have found traces of someone stopping on a dead tree below, and there is also a cave not far away. It seems that someone passed by not long ago."

"Good lad, he's still alive. Investigate again and report back. Never mind, I'll go down and check myself. This is something I have to do personally."

After hearing this, Shan Tianxie secretly made his own plans.

Even if it's a master transferring skills in just one day, the energy loss during the transfer will only allow them to reach the peak at most. With two top masters like Ji Wuming and Zhou Wuse present, a two-on-one fight is a sure thing.

He immediately took an antidote pill, tied the rope, and prepared to descend the cliff.

Reaching the bottom of the cliff, Shan Tianxie stood outside the cave, and several disciples quickly stepped forward to report the situation. He carefully observed the traces around him, a smile playing on his lips.

"This kid really has the life of a protagonist. First, he was caught by a tree on the edge of the cliff, and then he somehow became immune to the poisonous fog. If he has any more adventures in the cave, then he'll really be diagnosed."

The disciples around him looked at Shan Tianxie with admiration. Before, none of them believed that anyone could survive under such circumstances.

I think the young master is overthinking things and is always too cautious.

But in the current situation, the young master has a brilliant plan!

"Then let's rush in now, and while he's still recovering from his serious injuries, let's attack him side by side and chop him into mincemeat on the spot!"

"No, no, no, that's too crude, Brother Zhou. We don't even know what's going on inside the cave. What if there's an ambush? The enemy is in the dark while we are in the light, so it's best to be careful. Do you remember what I said before?"

"Young Master has too many famous sayings; I don't know which one it is."

As Zhou Wuse replied, his mind raced. The young master had uttered many memorable quotes this year. Which one could it be?

"The path lies ahead, proceed steadily! We show no mercy to those who are weak."

"Everyone, get your hidden weapons ready. Throw them in and sweep around to check. Now is the time to proceed cautiously."

Dan Tianxie raised an eyebrow and said in a low voice.

After a barrage of various hidden weapons used to clean up the ground.

"It should be fine, but leave a team outside to provide backup. If that kid manages to escape, he'll be seriously injured and must be killed on the spot, his bones crushed to dust! Brother Zhou, you lead the team, I'll hold the rear!"

Seeing that there was no movement inside, Shan Tianxie gave his instructions and slowly stepped forward to protect everyone in front of him.

Zhou Wuse watched him finish speaking and then walked to the back of the group. He didn't care. The young master's words meant he had thoroughly implemented the first half of the sentence: proceed steadily. Besides, he was a top expert, so a small cave was no problem for him!

"Fireflies? It's really strange that these things can survive in poisonous fog!"

Zhou Wuse took the lead and entered the cave, looking at the large swarm of fireflies in front of him and said.

Seeing that there was no danger, Shan Tianxie stepped out from the back of the group. After observing carefully, he pointed to the sword marks on the wall and said, "Brother Zhou, did you notice the sword marks over there? Can you tell what level of expert left them?"

Zhou Wuse walked up to the sword marks, and after carefully examining them, a look of solemnity flashed across his face: "Judging from the depth of these sword marks, the master was at least a master of the Innate Realm. His inner strength had been converted into Innate True Qi, which is why the sword marks could penetrate so deeply into the stone."

"Great! If I remember correctly, Zhang Feiyu is the only one in Tianbao Village who practices swordsmanship, right? He can even jump off a cliff and land at a place where a master of innate cultivation practices swordsmanship?"

Dan Tianxie laughed. The protagonist template is truly overpowered, but unfortunately, my system is not without its disadvantages.

"Could that kid have already observed the sword marks, received the power from a master of innate cultivation, and advanced to the level of a top-tier master?"

“Young Master, a top expert may be a figure in the martial arts world, but he is nothing in front of our Bliss Valley.”

Zhou Wuse spoke with an air of confidence.

"Well said! But Brother Zhou, it seems you are one too."

"Ha...hahaha, although I am not talented, I am fortunate to have been personally taught the Blood Condensing Divine Claw by the Valley Master. It is incomparable to ordinary wild fox Zen. There are differences even among the best! The difference lies in the level of this martial art."

Zhou Wuse chuckled awkwardly twice, then turned to explain.

"Ahem, everything is under control, unless he ascends to the heavens in one step and reaches the level of a Xiantian master... Waaaaah!"

Dan Tianxie realized he had hurt someone and tried to change the subject, but before he could finish speaking, Zhou Wuse seized the opportunity, rushed forward, and quickly covered his mouth.

"Young Master, please don't say that! Once you enter the Innate Realm, you open up the Ren and Du meridians, and your internal energy begins to transform into true qi. Compared to those below the Innate Realm, it's a world of difference, which can be quite troublesome."

Dan Tianxie pulled his hand away, glanced at Zhou Wuse, and thought to himself, "This Zhou Wuse with his thick eyebrows and big eyes is playing the game of taking advantage of an opportunity. I wonder where he learned that from."

He then said, "Pah, pah, pah, I won't say it. Brother Zhou, you should go first and keep going."

Nothing unexpected happened along the way. The group from Bliss Valley followed the sword marks deeper into the cave. As time went on, an even larger cave suddenly appeared before them.

A young man was sitting cross-legged, practicing meditation. He was Zhang Feiyu, who had fallen to the bottom of the cliff the day before.
