Martial Arts Crossover: Something's Wrong with This Evil Sect

Chapter 17 Black Stone's Letter, A Life of Debauchery

Dan Tianxie originally wanted to give silver directly, but then he thought that giving silver in this mountain village would only make the host family panic. It would be better to give some pastries instead, as a token of his appreciation.

Afterwards, the two followed the old man into the village. During their conversation, they learned that the old man's surname was Wu and his given name was Fu. His son's name was Wu Qi and his bride was Huang Hua, his childhood sweetheart. Huang Hua lost both her parents at a young age and was raised by Old Man Wu. She developed feelings for his son over time as they spent every day together, making their marriage a double blessing.

At this point, Old Man Wu couldn't stop smiling.

"We've arrived, Young Master Shan."

Old Wu stopped in front of a somewhat dilapidated courtyard. Although the courtyard was not large, it was very clean, which showed the care of the owner.

There were six or seven tables set up in the courtyard, and quite a few guests were already seated. They all seemed to be from the village. Although they were not wealthy, they still dressed in their best clothes to congratulate the newlyweds on this special day.

The old man led the two to the banquet. After Shan Tianxie and Xiyu sat down, the villagers next to them were obviously a little nervous, but they would steal glances from time to time. After all, such a good-looking man and woman had never come to the village before.

After a round of cheers, the groom and bride began the traditional wedding ceremony of bowing to heaven and earth.

The air was filled with the sounds of gongs and drums, and firecrackers crackled. Although there were no red flags waving or crowds of people, it was still quite festive.

After the bride and groom paid their respects to heaven and earth, the village aunties who helped with the cooking began to serve the dishes. Although it was called a banquet, it was not as lavish as that of a wealthy family.

However, the wine is homemade rice wine, and the dishes are mostly homegrown vegetables, which gives it a unique flavor.

The only decent dish was the braised pork belly at the end, which was devoured as soon as it was served.

Dan Tianxie even said he wanted to taste it, but in this respect, the villagers' speed was probably already comparable to that of a second-rate expert. Before he knew it, it was gone!

I couldn't help but smile. It was quite amusing, after all, these days, it's rare to have meat to eat.

Weddings in the village aren't so complicated. After the bride finishes bowing to heaven and earth and changes her clothes, she comes out to toast the guests with the groom.

As guests from outside the city, Shan Tianxie and Xiyu were the last to be toasted by the newlyweds, but they both seemed a little reserved.

The groom was a dark-skinned, honest-looking farmer, while the bride had delicate features but her skin was not fair; it was wheat-colored, obviously due to her daily farm work. After the two finished toasting, they stood there, watching Shan Tianxie and his companion with great anticipation.

This left Shan Tianxie completely bewildered. Hadn't he already given the gift? Did he think he hadn't given enough?

At this moment, Old Man Wu walked over with a big smile on his face and nervously rubbed his hands together. "My two honored guests, the two children see you two as heavenly beings. According to our local custom, I wonder if you two could say some words of blessing to the two children?"

"Is that all? It's nothing. As the saying goes, a good match is made in the first place." Shan Tianxie downed the wine in his cup in one gulp, showing his carefree attitude, and then continued, "I wish the two newlyweds a lifetime of happiness and joy, and a hundred years of loving devotion."

"What excellent writing!"

"Look at the words they used, tsk tsk, this young couple is really lucky."

"My son's teacher says he has the makings of a scholar! I hope he can be like this young master someday!"

Some villagers led the applause and cheers. Although they could not read many words, the village's judging criteria were simple: if there were so many words that they could not understand them, they could tell at a glance that they were good words!

Old Wu was overjoyed and thanked them repeatedly. Listening to the surrounding villagers' discussions, he felt that his reputation had grown significantly, and he was very happy.

After the banquet, night fell.

Dan Tianxie and his companion politely declined Old Man Wu's offer to stay overnight and then bid farewell to the newlyweds.

The two drove the carriage away from the village and continued towards the Valley of Bliss. The moonlight shone on the road, casting a silvery white glow.

Driving in the drizzle, Shan Tianxie sat in the car, resting with his eyes closed.

Suddenly, a cry of an eagle pierced the night sky, growing louder as it approached. A black eagle circled overhead, seemingly searching for something.

It finally locked onto its target, swooped down, and headed straight for the drizzle.

Xi Yu stretched out her arm, and the black eagle landed lightly on her shoulder. Its eagle eyes scanned the surroundings warily. Xi Yu noticed a letter tied to its leg, and her heart tightened. She looked down and saw only a few words on the envelope: "The remains of Rama have appeared in the world. Return to the capital immediately!"

Xi Yu's expression changed slightly, but she quickly regained her composure.

He turned to look at Shan Tianxie, who was resting with his eyes closed inside the carriage. Shan Tianxie, however, seemed to have already sensed him and slowly opened his eyes. "Black Hawk? Black Stone's letter?"

Xi Yu nodded and handed him the letter. Dan Tianxie took the letter, his gaze lingering on the words, a playful smile playing on his lips: "Looks like we'll have to go to the capital first. The remains of Rama? We want something good! Let's head to the capital!"

Rama's remains!

Legend has it that Rama, a high-ranking monk from India who lived eight hundred years ago, traveled thousands of miles to the Central Plains to spread Buddhism. Later, in order to promote Buddhism, he voluntarily purified himself and entered the palace to explain Buddhist scriptures to the emperor for three years. However, after Rama passed away, people discovered that he was still in perfect health, as if he had reached the state of being reborn as a celestial being.

Several years after Rama's death, his body was stolen from his tomb and cut in two. Legend has it that if Rama's body could be reunited, one could comprehend Rama's unparalleled martial arts, reach the realm of the celestial being, and have his severed limbs regenerated to dominate the martial arts world.

Half of the body is now in the home of Zhang Haiduan, an imperial censor of the current dynasty. In the original story, Zhang Haiduan was already the Grand Secretary of the current dynasty, but according to the current intelligence, he is still an ordinary imperial censor, except that he has a son with good martial arts skills who is studying under the Kunlun Sect.

Dan Tianxie and his companion drove at high speed and arrived in the capital in just ten days.

Even after nightfall, the capital of the Ming Dynasty remained bustling with activity, its streets brightly lit and teeming with people.

Dan Tianxie rested briefly inside the carriage.

Following the directions, Xi Yu walked through several alleys and finally stopped in front of a brothel called "Zui Sheng Lou".

"Drunken Life Pavilion?" Shan Tianxie poked his head out of the carriage, raising an eyebrow and smiling. "That's a good name. A place for pleasure-seeking, a place to live a life of debauchery."

This place is the stronghold of Bliss Valley in the capital. It not only supplies funds and information about the martial arts world to Bliss Valley, but also serves as a place for the valley's dual cultivation disciples to practice.

Dan Tianxie straightened his clothes and strolled into Zuisheng Pavilion.

The interior was brightly lit, filled with the sounds of traditional Chinese string and wind instruments, and elegantly dressed young women moved about the hall to greet guests.

When the madam saw Shan Tianxie, she smiled slightly and swayed her slender waist as she walked over gracefully.

Although she was called a madam, she was only in her early twenties. Her red dress was like a blooming rose, dazzling and eye-catching, which only accentuated her charm.

"Young master, is this your first time visiting Zuisheng Tower? Do you know any ladies here?" The woman in red spoke in a melodious voice, her eyes sparkling with a touch of allure.

Dan Tianxie stared intently at the woman in red, one arm around her waist. As she tried to resist, he whispered, "A place of drunken revelry, a paradise of ultimate bliss."
