Barracks?
[Barracks]
Level: None (increases with the level of the shelter after binding)
Function: Can randomly recruit a follower (whose level will not exceed the level of the barracks), who will be absolutely loyal to the recruiter.
Method: Recruitment with 1 Ancient Coin: 50 coins per attempt
2. Rare Metal Recruitment: 50 units per recruitment run
Number of times: 5-day cooldown for each recruitment method
Introduction: Would you be an excellent leader?
P.S.: Upon first obtaining the barracks, you will receive one free random recruitment.
This barracks is the one with the most information among all the items Mo Ming obtained.
First of all, the level is easy to understand. Like the Twin Beasts Four Directions Well and the Guardian Radar, the level will increase as the shelter is upgraded after it is bound to the shelter. It is a growth-type facility.
Mo Ming placed it in front of the shelter, opposite the Bronze Beast King's Palace.
From the outside, the barracks is a trapezoidal structure, with a huge statue of a general holding a sword and wearing armor standing on top, looking very imposing.
Once the barracks were bound to the shelter, upon checking again, the level had changed to Crimson Purple.
The subsequent recruitment method is somewhat similar to the card games that Mo Ming used to play.
In the game, you can use gold coins for regular recruitment, which generally yields characters with lower aptitude. You can then use advanced recruitment tickets for advanced recruitment, which will result in characters with higher aptitude caps.
However, the recruitment in this barracks is random, which means that the recruitment with ancient spirit coins and rare metals may just be two different recruitment methods, and there may not necessarily be a fundamental difference in the outcome.
But that doesn't make sense either, let's not even talk about recruiting with Ancient Spirit Coins.
If we only look at the recruitment of rare metals, and if there is no difference in the result when recruiting with two metals of different rarity, then who would be willing to use the rarer one to recruit?
Therefore, Mo Ming boldly speculates that different rare metals may correspond to different recruitment pools.
The rarer the metal used, the better the followers you recruit.
But... what qualifies as a rare metal?
Mo Ming tried using bronze, iron, silver, gold, platinum... all the metals he owned, one by one, but none of them worked.
It seems that the definition of rare metals here follows specific rules. If precious metals like platinum are not considered rare, then looking further up, jade and diamonds may not necessarily be considered rare metals either.
Does it mean only those elements in the periodic table count?
Unfortunately, there's nothing there, so we can't verify it. We'll have to wait for another opportunity.
Each recruitment has a 5-day cooldown period, which Mo Ming doesn't care about. The recruitment cost is ridiculously high anyway, and there aren't enough materials. Even if he manages to gather enough, it's only enough for one recruitment at most, so the cooldown period doesn't matter.
Finally, there's the information in Photoshop: a newbie perk—a free recruitment opportunity, which is quite thoughtful.
"Why not take advantage of a free opportunity?" Mo Ming walked into the barracks. The barracks were small, only about ten square meters in size.
The interior is quite simple, with a half-meter-high circular platform in the center and a stone pillar on each side.
The stone pillars are carved with many intricate patterns, resembling runes or incantations, likely used for recruitment.
After briefly surveying the surroundings, Mo Ming began his first recruitment as instructed.
Several beams of blue light slowly rose from the runes on the four stone pillars, then began to converge towards the center of the platform, and soon the deep blue light filled the entire platform.
Half a minute later, the deep blue light gradually faded, and a figure appeared on the platform.
At the same time, a new connection seemed to have formed in Mo Ming's mind, somewhat similar to when he was training pets.
However, unlike before, this connection quickly transformed into a receipt, which remained in Mo Ming's mind.
It is a contract that outlines the contractual relationship between the recruiter and the follower. This contract will play a crucial role in the follower's life or death.
Mo Ming could sense that he could now manipulate the contract to decide the life or death of the follower at any time.
He guessed that this was probably an effect that would occur after the soldiers were recruited, in order to ensure the loyalty of the recruited followers to the recruiter.
The man had dark skin, a strong build, striking features, short black hair, and appeared to be about 1.8 meters tall, similar to Mo Ming.
Is this...a human?
Or... Deep Blue?
Before Mo Ming could recover from his shock, he saw the man jump down from the recruitment platform, kneel on one knee, clasp his hands in a fist and say, "Greetings, leader."
The language was still unfamiliar to Mo Ming, so he figured the person in front of him probably wasn't from Earth.
leader?
This title is a bit strange, isn't it? A leader who only has one person under his command?
Mo Ming waved his hand, helped him up, and said slowly, "Don't call me leader anymore. It's just the two of us here now, so just call me boss!"
"Yes! Boss!"
"Haha, don't be so reserved, introduce yourself first."
"My name is Stone, a Moro alien. I was captured by a group of monsters and imprisoned in a dark prison."
People from other planets?
Mo Ming's heart was filled with turmoil. Could it be that this was not just a conspiracy targeting Earth, but also other planets?
"Okay, go on!"
"There were many people in that prison, all of them Moro aliens. We were kept there all this time. Every now and then, our fellow countrymen would be taken away, but... they never came back!"
Stone looked somewhat forlorn, his eyes filled with sorrow.
"What do those monsters look like?" Mo Ming was very concerned about this; he wanted to confirm whether they were the orcs he had encountered before.
"Some of them are enormous monsters, I don't know what they're called, and some have animal heads and human bodies, and can even speak human language, they're very powerful."
As he spoke, a hint of anger gradually emerged in Stone's eyes.
"Actually, our Moro Star didn't originally have such a large fog; it only started to appear after those monsters arrived."
This fog seems to only affect humans; once you step inside, you never come out again, but wild animals are unaffected. Alas!
Mo Ming frowned. "You mean... this misty world is your home planet, Moro Star?"
"Uh-huh, yes!"
"Do you even know how you got here?"
"It's strange, but one day, a voice and a contract suddenly appeared in all of our minds."
The voice said that if any of you react to this contract one day, you can choose to sign it and you will be recruited to leave this prison and return to the outside world.
But the price is that you become the recruiter's slave forever, and you are forbidden to betray him.
"What are the characteristics of that sound?"
Stone frowned, trying hard to recall the scene.
"The sound didn't feel like it came from a human; it sounded more like it came from a machine, cold and aloof."
really.
Mo Ming guessed correctly; it was the mechanical sound from the Misty World!
But if the mastermind behind it all imprisoned all the locals, why would they suddenly create a military camp to recruit them back?
Isn't this inconsistent?
Or is there more than one group of people behind this?
Rather, it's a situation where two forces are checking and balancing each other?
Mo Ming recalled the previous "Mist Announcement" and "Temporary Notice," which were issued in two different mechanical voices.
It seems the situation in this misty world is becoming increasingly complex!
"Come on, I'll show you around and help you get familiar with the surroundings." With that, Mo Ming took Shi Tou and left the barracks.
