Chapter 94, The Little Mouse Hunts

Although the treasure map is not yet complete, its general outline is clearly visible. After some discussion, everyone reached a consensus—at daybreak tomorrow, everyone will head at full speed towards the location marked with a red cross, and they will meet at the destination indicated on the treasure map.

Lin Yue carefully put away the treasure map fragments. Seeing the remaining dust, weeds, bark, and other debris in the box, she patiently cleaned them up. She even washed a towel and meticulously wiped the entire box inside and out before finally placing it back in its original place.

Having slept all day, Lin Yue didn't want to rest. In addition, she was really excited. After wiping the wooden box clean, she took out the automatic floor scrubber and prepared to give the slightly old stone house a thorough cleaning.

With a soft hum from the machine, Lin Yue wiped everything except the recliner until it was spotless. Seeing the entire room looking brand new, Lin Yue finally smiled.

But soon, she felt it wasn't enough. Thinking of the gray blanket she had just put away, Lin Yue simply put all the fabric items in the room—blankets, quilts, towels, and the like—into the washing machine to wash and dry. Once everything was tidied up, Lin Yue sat cross-legged on the bed and started playing games.

Speaking of which, she hadn't played Plants vs. Zombies for several days, and she was really worried that Xiao Linyue might throw a tantrum again. However, it seemed that as she opened more and more treasures from the treasure chests, the frequency of Xiao Linyue's tantrums had indeed decreased quite a bit.

It took Lin Yue over an hour to successfully complete the eighth level. This time, the reward she received was yet another antique-style pastry box. When the prize appeared, Lin Yue was stunned for a moment. The rewards in Plants vs. Zombies were always high-tech and amazing; why the sudden change in style?

Moreover, although this snack box keeps food warm or cold and has no capacity limit, it seems to have the same function as the insulated lunch box we got before. This snack box can only be used to store snacks, and it is not as comprehensive as the insulated lunch box, so it is really a bit of a gimmick.

Lin Yue naturally scoffed at this as well, intending to put it away for the time being. Just then, she suddenly heard a low cough. It was Jin Xuan. Lin Yue's hand froze in mid-air. This thing was indeed useless to her, but it would be perfect for Jin Xuan, who couldn't cook and was physically weak!

Thinking of this, Lin Yue silently made a decision in her heart. After thinking for a moment, she stood up, walked around the screen in the center of the room, tiptoed to Jin Xuan's side, and poked the little mouse that was dozing off with her finger.

The little golden mouse wriggled its round body to dodge, but when Lin Yue poked it a second and a third time, it finally couldn't hold back any longer. It reluctantly opened one eye slightly, glancing at Lin Yue from below, as if silently questioning her about what she was trying to do.

Clearly, it had just fallen into a deep sleep, and being forcibly woken up naturally put it in a bad mood. But perhaps because it had eaten the food Lin Yue had given it, and as the saying goes, "he who eats another's food is bound to him," it didn't immediately throw a tantrum. Instead, it exuded a low, oppressive aura, and its furry little face seemed to clearly say, "Spit it out."

Seeing that it was awake, Lin Yue gestured to it, indicating that it should go further away before speaking.

The little mouse didn't want to wake Jinxuan, who was finally able to get a good night's sleep, so it could only wag its tail a few times unhappily and reluctantly follow Lin Yue to another corner of the room.

Lin Yue didn't care at all about the little mouse's unfriendly attitude. She spoke directly to the little mouse, "I'm planning to make some snacks for Sister Jinxuan, but I'm short on ingredients. You're so strong, could you go out and hunt some game? Hmm... preferably something that can replenish your health."

Lin Yue wasn't sure if the little mouse could accurately distinguish the effects of the ingredients, but since it had found so many treasure map fragments, its strength must be extraordinary, so she made the request with peace of mind.

Sure enough, as soon as the little mouse heard that she was making something for Jinxuan, the previously lazy creature instantly became energetic. It circled the table several times, then nodded at Lin Yue, and with a soft "swoosh," it dashed off like lightning toward the stone house door.

The stone house's door, which had been tightly shut, was forcefully pushed open by the little mouse and then slammed shut again. Immediately afterwards, there were many screams and running sounds outside.

While the little mouse was out hunting, Lin Yue reorganized the ingredients, taking out the flour and rice. She didn't have much of these two items, as they were airdropped, only a pound or two. Since these were essential for making desserts, Lin Yue took them all out.

As for the rest, we'll see how capable the little mouse really is.

About forty minutes later, a red figure suddenly darted into the house from outside. Lin Yue, who had been on guard, was startled and instinctively gripped the dagger in her hand and stood up.

With a loud bang, the stone house door slammed shut again. Only then did Lin Yue realize that the red figure that had just rushed in was a small mouse covered in blood.

From head to tail, including its nose and the tip of its tail, it was completely stained a glaring red with blood. Its once golden fur had lost its luster, matted together in strands, and its wet body looked as if it had just been through a fierce battle, appearing somewhat disheveled. More importantly, its mouth was empty; it hadn't brought back any spoils of war.

Could it be... that I overestimated this little guy's abilities? Lin Yue wondered to herself. Had it returned empty-handed from its trip?

Just as Lin Yue was about to ask a question, she saw the little mouse nimbly leap into the basin of water placed nearby, and then begin to roll around incessantly. The clear water was instantly stained red, while the little mouse's dirty red fur gradually returned to its original color.

Before Lin Yue could reach out to scoop it out, the little mouse leaped out of the water and onto the table. Then, it violently shook its head, scattering countless water droplets in all directions, tracing arcs in the air like a shower of flowers.
