Chapter 62, Planting an Apple Tree

Ni Yi accepted the request instantly and soon sent a message: "Lin Yue, I have an incubator here, and I'd like to trade it for some meat. However, I don't have a pot, so I'd like you to make one for me in exchange. Is that possible?"

"No problem!" Lin Yue readily agreed. Now that she had an automatic food processor, cooking was really no problem. "What do you want to eat? How about braised pork?"

"Sure! That's perfect!" Ni Yi agreed immediately, then seemed a little embarrassed and hesitated for a moment before asking, "Um, Lin Yue, I have some white sugar here. I'll find it and give it to you. When you make braised pork, can you make it a little sweeter?"

"Okay." The automatic food processor can adjust the sweetness level, which isn't a difficult task.

Ni Yi was delighted and quickly sent over a whole bag of white sugar and a wooden bowl. Lin Yue put the ingredients into the food processor, selected the dish and flavor, and after more than ten minutes, the food processor lit up a green light indicating "cooking complete".

Lin Yue filled a bowl with braised pork and sent it to Ni Yi in exchange for the automatic incubator. Then, under Bai Shuang's guidance, she put several eggs into it.

The incubator showed that the eggs would take 5 days to hatch, which was much faster than in real life. Lin Yue thought about it and built a separate room for the incubator, planning to keep the chicks there after they hatched.

After resolving the egg issue, Lin Yue decided to continue cooking. However, there was still quite a bit of braised pork left in the pot. Lin Yue picked up her chopsticks, took a bite, frowned, hesitated for a moment, and then swallowed it. Ni Yi's cooking was just too sweet for her; she didn't really like it. So, what should she do with the remaining half-pot of pork?

Should I give it to the only person in the group? Or should I share it with everyone in the small group?

Just as Lin Yue was thinking, a strange feeling of irritation suddenly flashed through her mind.

Ok?

Lin Yue paused for a moment; this wasn't her own emotion. But quickly, she realized it stemmed from the Plants vs. Zombies game in her mind. Could it be that little Lin Yue was unhappy again?

Lin Yue quickly channeled her mental energy into the device and saw that little Lin Yue was indeed wandering around again, her steps heavy and labored.

What's wrong? Does she want to play games again?

Lin Yue was about to tap the start button at the top of the screen when she caught a glimpse of three items neatly arranged beside the lawn. Next to the shower pod, the marks left by the automatic food processor hadn't yet disappeared.

Oh right, when I took this food processor out yesterday, Xiaolin Yue still had half a pot of potato chips left in it. She's unhappy now, could it be because she's hungry?

Although she couldn't be completely sure, Lin Yue quickly put the food processor back.

As soon as the machine was placed on the grass, Lin Yue remembered that she had forgotten to take the braised pork out of her food processor. What should she do? Would it go to waste?

But at that moment, Xiao Linyue had already run over quickly and pulled open the food processor drawer. Lin Yue stared intently at her movements until she saw Xiao Linyue actually pick up a small cube with her fingers, put it in her mouth, and chew it. Only then did she realize that not only could she take out items from the game, but she could also put her own things in!

Wait, something's not right! Lin Yue suddenly remembered that when she was making the ice basin a few days ago, because she was in a hurry and received a lot of materials, she didn't want to keep running to the warehouse. She even tried putting the materials in the lawn of Plants vs. Zombies, but it ended in failure.

Now, only four days have passed, and the braised pork can be teleported in. Is it because only containers from within the game can be used as teleportation tools, or is the game itself evolving and upgrading as she progresses through the game?

Lin Yue had an idea and was about to take out some more things to experiment with when she saw Xiao Lin Yue chew the braised pork in her mouth, then frown and spit it out, clearly dissatisfied with the taste. She even pulled out the entire drawer, seemingly intending to dump everything inside.

Lin Yue quickly took the drawer out, divided the braised pork into several bowls and shared them equally with her friends in the group chat, then put the drawer back on the lawn. Then, she saw that Xiao Lin Yue had bought another "nut wall" and put it into the food processor. The flavor was exactly the same as hers! Lin Yue felt that things were becoming more and more confusing.

Seeing that Lin Yue had started eating, the slight annoyance that had been lingering in her mind disappeared. Lin Yue stopped playing games and started tidying up other things.

First, there were the two apple trees. Lin Yue took out a planting pot and planted the larger one in it. As described in the instructions, the planting pot wasn't limited by the plant's size. Once the apple tree's roots were placed in the pot, it seemed to sense the trunk's thickness and quickly expanded several times until it matched the tree's size. In this way, one apple tree occupied half the space in the planting room.

Unfortunately, each planting pot can only hold one tree. Lin Yue originally planned to clear out a wooden box, fill it with soil, and try to make a simple planting box herself. Just as she was about to do so, she suddenly remembered the large grassy area in Plants vs. Zombies. Apart from the five central lanes used for planting plants to defend against zombies, there was a considerable amount of empty space on the sides.

Since Xiaolin Yue can be used to directly place level completion rewards, can't I also directly plant trees there?

Having come up with the idea, Lin Yue decided to put it into action immediately. She steadily supported the apple tree, then concentrated her mind and tried to move it to the edge of the open grass with her thoughts.

Once, twice, three times... Lin Yue tried again and again without getting tired. Until suddenly she felt her head buzzing, her vision blurred, and the apple tree in her hand seemed to be pulled by an invisible force, slowly disappearing from the spot.
