Ahhhhh, high-altitude survival!

Chapter 49, Han Wei1 is in danger

In the few minutes that her thoughts were wandering, the food processor stopped running, and the light changed from red to green. Lin Yue perked up and saw her turn on the food processor, take out a handful of yellow flakes, pop one into her mouth, and then a look of enjoyment spread across her face.

Seeing that she was no longer moving, Lin Yue took out the food processor and lunchbox.

Xiao Linyue on the grass seemed to have gotten used to taking things in and out without even glancing at them, and continued chewing happily.

Lin Yue first took out the insulated lunchbox and looked at it. The box was still pink and white, a color that the Plants vs. Zombies game seemed to particularly favor. Upon opening it, she found four compartments inside.

She tried putting some jerky inside and discovered that the lunchbox seemed to be like the compartments of a backpack, allowing for the stacking of similar items indefinitely. Moreover, time seemed to stand still inside the box; the food remained exactly as it was when taken out, without even a change in temperature.

Although it can only hold food, and only four kinds in total, it is very practical for Lin Yue. It not only saves space in several backpacks, but also prevents the food from spoiling.

Lin Yue happily placed it aside and then opened the food processor drawer.

This food processor is about the size of a small freezer. It has an electronic screen on top and two small drawer-like compartments below, one labeled with ingredients and the other with food, making it easy to see at a glance.

Lin Yue had just opened the drawer labeled "Food," and inside was a rather large "Nut Wall," so there were still some bright yellow flakes left in the food processor. Lin Yue took one out, took a small bite, and with a slight "crunch," a rich potato flavor burst in her mouth. That little Lin Yue had actually made a whole pot of potato chips with the "Nut Wall"!

Lin Yue couldn't resist grabbing another handful, then tidied up all the potato chips in the food processor, thought for a moment, and put in a piece of wild boar meat.

The screen above lit up and displayed many pictures, labeled "Roasted Meat", "Braised Meat", "Red-braised Pork", "Twice-cooked Pork", "Dongpo Pork", "Meat Jerky", "Meat Floss", "Char Siu", "Dumplings", "Steamed Dumplings", etc. There was also a page-turning button at the bottom.

Lin Yue's eyes widened in surprise. Is it that amazing?

Then, I tapped the image of "steamed dumplings," and the image zoomed in to take up the entire screen. A new line of text appeared on the image: "Main ingredient missing: flour."

Lin Yue took out another bag of flour and poured it in. This time, the text changed again—"Other seasonings can be added to enhance the flavor of the dumplings."

Lin Yue simply went to Han Weiyi again and exchanged some seasonings with her, also throwing in about a dozen peas. This time, the food processor didn't display any new messages, but instead emitted a soft beeping sound and lit up a red "processing" light.

Lin Yue was quite expectant. A few minutes later, the red light turned green, and Lin Yue opened the food drawer, where she saw plump, white, and steaming dumplings.

She picked one up and tasted it. The steaming aroma made her nose slightly moist. The dumpling skin was as thin as a cicada's wing, with a faint sheen, while the filling was exceptionally rich and juicy. The wild boar meat was firm and mellow, paired with the crisp and refreshing peas, creating distinct yet harmonious layers.

It might not be considered particularly amazing, but it was far superior to Lin Yue's own level.

Steamed dumplings are convenient and delicious, and with the insulated lunchbox available, Lin Yue didn't hesitate to add a dozen portions of meat and two bags of flour, letting the food processor continue working. She then opened her Sky Wings, which had already cooled down, and took to the air.

Unfortunately, the floating island seemed to be deliberately working against her, failing to appear for half a day. Just as Lin Yue was about to give up and play some more games, the bracelet on her wrist suddenly began vibrating rapidly without warning.

Lin Yue found it strange, and when she opened it, she saw that it was a message sent by Han Weiyi.

Han Weiyi: "Sister, sister, help me!"

Han Weiyi: "Waaaaaah, am I going to die?"

Han Weiyi: "Sister, waaaaaah, I haven't seen my mom and dad yet."

Lin Yuexin's heart skipped a beat. Han Weiyi was her favorite little sister in the high-altitude survival game. Without thinking twice, she quickly called back with a video call, but the call was immediately disconnected as soon as it was sent.

Lin Yue was even more worried. Han Weiyi was naturally lively and outgoing, even a little bit socially adept. She usually preferred face-to-face communication, especially with Lin Yue; she almost never sent text messages, always opting for video calls. What could have happened this time that made her afraid to even answer video calls?

Various unpleasant thoughts began to flood Lin Yue's mind, but fortunately, Han Weiyi quickly replied with a new message: "Sister, I'm hiding right now and I don't dare to speak. There are wolves down there!"

Wolf?

Lin Yue's heart, which had been pounding with anxiety, eased slightly, but quickly tightened again. While the situation wasn't as dire as she'd imagined, the danger posed by the pack of wolves was not to be underestimated. Especially in this high-altitude survival game, it was likely far more terrifying than anything in real life.

Han Weiyi is still young and probably has never faced a real wild animal before, so you can imagine how scared she must be.

She quickly replied with a message asking, "Where are you now? Is your hiding place safe? Are you injured?"

At this moment, Han Weiyi was gritting her teeth and secretly typing on the bracelet screen: "I'm okay for now, sister. I was picking fruit from a tree when suddenly a sika deer came over. I didn't even intend to fight it, but it attracted a pack of wolves! Now the sika deer has been surrounded and killed, and the wolves are sharing it. I don't dare to move, and I don't know when they will find me."

Lin Yue breathed a slight sigh of relief. That was good; at least she had some time to recover. But how exactly could she reach her?

Han Wei's defense is high, but he definitely can't withstand the wolf pack's bites. Sparrow feather darts? Daggers? Or pea shooters...?

Lin Yue frowned, her mind racing, but no matter how she thought about it, it didn't seem very plausible.
