Wine-scented Beauty

Chapter 72: Danger Averted
He didn't seem particularly nervous. The accompanying imperial physicians stared in disbelief as Lu Yu skillfully operated various instruments. After he finished, a bloody object was pulled out and then disconnected from the human body before being placed aside.
It was almost evening when the matter was finally completed.
Lu Yu breathed a sigh of relief, but he didn't know if he would have to feed it for a few more days. A long wait always makes one a little impatient.
Following the recipe in the ancient book, Lu Yu cooked her a bowl of anesthetic powder and then had his maid feed it to her.
He will stay here for a few more days. Xunhua is still not awake, and the entire inn is closed.
After resting for a while, it was time for dinner. Xunhua had already made a request, so he couldn't leave now.
After resting in the room for a while, he came out. The effects of the medicine hadn't worn off yet, and the princess was still lying down. As for the rest of the matters, he didn't need to get involved.
It wasn't until midnight that someone came to inform him.
"The princess has woken up and is looking for you."
Lu Yu slowly followed her over; the room was dimly lit by candlelight. Xun Hua, her face pale, watched him slowly approach, and finally saw him sit down in front of her.
"Did it succeed or fail?"
"It seems to have been successful."
Xunhua smiled contentedly and said weakly, "You've had a hard time. I'll send someone to take you back."
"Thank you, Princess." Lu Yu still dared not relax, as people came from behind and he had to act according to Xun Hua's expression.
He got up and left with the man, and the room returned to silence.
"Send someone to keep an eye on them; they can't leave until I'm fully recovered."
"Yes, Princess." The head guard's voice rang out in the room, and then he quickly left.
Xunhua moved her fingers; she seemed fine, except for some pain in her arm. It was probably cut open, and she dared not move. With the help of a maid, she finally lay down.
The city gates had already been under curfew, but fortunately, Xun Hua had given advance notice, and after seeing Lu Yu, he was allowed to leave.
He rode at full speed and arrived home in half an hour. Ji Meiqing was still asleep. He went to her room to check on her. The flush on her face had disappeared, but her lips were dry.
There was no hot tea in the room, only some cold water. Lu Yu went to the back and boiled a pot, then poured it for her to drink.
"Hmm..." she groaned, then woke up. Seeing that it was Lu Yu, she smiled and said, "Brother Lu, you haven't rested yet?"
"No, drink some water before you sleep," he coaxed gently, supporting her head with his arm and then feeding her water.
She finished almost all her drinks before lying down to rest again. Lu Yu tucked her in several times, still worried, before finally going back to sleep, satisfied.
She didn't wake up until noon. There was no obvious pain in her forehead, and everything seemed normal. But Ji Meiqing felt uneasy, and she ran outside.
She was relieved to see Lu Yu.
"I'm going to prepare for the princess's surgery today, so I'll probably be back late. Brother Lu, you don't need to wait for me for dinner," she said with a smile, as if she didn't know that the matter had already been resolved.
Lu Yu looked up at her and slowly said, "When are you coming back?"
"Finish your own business."
“Then there’s no need to go.” He looked at her very calmly.
Ji Meiqing was taken aback, and subconsciously wanted to ask, "What?"
"Everything has been taken care of, you don't need to go." Lu Yu said slowly, his eyes never leaving her, looking straight at her. "Take a good rest."
"You...you actually did that?" Ji Meiqing looked at him in disbelief, completely surprised that Lu Yu was quite capable. He was even wielding a knife on the princess's head.
"I practiced with a rabbit on the spot." He told the truth without any sense of shame, which made Ji Meiqing's jaw almost drop to the ground.
He actually used a rabbit for practice... How cruel!
Thinking about this, she couldn't help but have doubts again, "Are you sure it really worked?"
"Yes." Lu Yu nodded calmly. "It's a success."
At this moment, Ji Meiqing no longer knew what expression to use to express his joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. What could possibly stop him?
Ji Meiqing looked at Lu Yu with great admiration, never expecting that Lu Yu's hands-on skills were in no way inferior to those of professionals.
"Is there anything else?" Looking at Ji Meiqing who had been following behind him, Lu Yu raised his eyebrows and asked, his face as calm and composed as ever, as if the surprise he had just shown was just an illusion.
Ji Meiqing shook her head. "It's alright."
"Aren't you going to take a look at the orchard?" Lu Yu reminded her.
After hearing this, she immediately turned around. She hadn't really gone to see it before, and was incredibly happy to finally be able to today.
After saying goodbye to him, they immediately found the people who had just boarded the ship.
After arriving at her destination, she wandered around looking at the rice seedlings in the field, not knowing how long it had been there.
She went straight in, and after a while, she heard a sound from the side. Following the sound, she could see a reclining chair in front of her, with someone sitting on it looking at something.
Ji Meiqing couldn't help but walk over and give him a nudge.
How has work been these past few days?
Upon hearing the sound, Old Man Wang immediately opened his eyes. He was stunned when he saw Ji Meiqing, but then he remembered almost everything.
"Things have been alright these days, it's just that there's not much powder."
Ji Meiqing looked thoughtfully at the gate. After wandering around the orchard twice, she stopped, crossed her legs, and leisurely looked at her palms.
"I'd like to expand my territory. Do you have any other good ideas?"
She asked this question with the intention of maintaining harmony, but it was a betrayal of her because the name was unsuitable.
Ji Meiqing glanced at it again. "Thank you. I'll go check out the art exhibition first. If you're my flower, be careful."
After glancing at Ji Meiqing, Uncle Wang resumed holding the item, which had been restored to its original state, and sat down on the recliner to rest.
She wandered around for a while before returning. Uncle Wang had already fallen asleep, so Ji Meiqing went straight home.
Just then, Lu Yu brought over the food and placed it in front of her. Ji Meiqing casually said, "I just went to check on the fields, and I feel like there aren't enough. I'd like to buy two more plots."
"Ah."
He looked at Ji Meiqing's hair, his mind wandering.
"You don't object?" She was surprised. Usually at this time, he would object with both hands and feet.
Lu Yu frowned and comforted him, "Don't frown. Just do what you want to do. I won't stop you."
Ji Meiqing was a little stunned; she hadn't quite reacted yet, carefully considering the meaning behind Lu Yu's words.
