Chapter 99 The Carnage Begins!

Diana, flying at breakneck speed through the sky, spotted a shop and swooped down into it.

Bang! Diana landed heavily, cracking the ground. The streets were deserted in the pouring rain.

Diana landed with a loud thud, and the door to the target shop was opened, with a burly man with a full beard angrily pushing it open.

He stopped himself from uttering a curse, because he saw a little girl holding a long sword, standing coldly in front of his door. The raindrops were deflected an inch away around the girl. This was definitely not an ordinary child!

"Oh...is there anything I can help you with, miss? The shop is closed now! Please...please come back tomorrow!"

The shop owner always felt cold all over, but couldn't figure out why.

Diana activated her detection skill and indeed found more than a dozen red dots below the shop!

Diana swiftly swung her sword, then walked into the shop on her own.

The shop owner looked puzzled, wondering what the child was up to. Suddenly, the signboard behind him broke in two and fell to the ground.

The shop owner tried to turn his head to see what had happened, but as soon as he moved, a neat slit appeared on his neck. The slit widened instantly, and his body fell forward uncontrollably, blood gushing out and rolling onto the shop owner's head on the road, his eyes still filled with confusion!

Upon entering the shop, Diana cleaved open the disguised basement door with a single sword stroke and then went straight downstairs.

The layout of the basement was very similar to the basement below the weapons shop, with the same iron cages holding different children.

Diana shattered all the iron cages, releasing them all. She then casually cast a healing spell and a recovery spell, suspending the magic circle in the air.

Two of the children in the cage had already stopped breathing. The remaining few particularly weak children were taken out and placed under the magic circle.

Diana then took out some more food.

"Wait here!"

Without waiting for the children's response, Diana left the shop and disappeared into the downpour.

The torrential rain was still pouring down from the sky, as if proclaiming its resentment!

Torres took the hairpin from his daughter's hand and put it on her, then buried her next to his wife's grave.

"Our family can finally be reunited, Nana!"

Torres took out a dagger, pointed it at his heart, and slowly moved closer. He felt no fear at that moment. The sound of dense hooves of horses quickly passed by outside the cemetery, and even in the torrential rain, it carried far.

"Dad! You can't do this! There are many children like me waiting for you to rescue them!"

A small hand grasped Toris's hands.

"Nana!"

Torres suddenly opened his eyes, but the familiar figure was nowhere to be seen.

Torres looked down at his chest; the dagger was now completely embedded in his heart, and blood stained his chest, yet he could still feel his strong heartbeat.

Torres pulled out the dagger, but no blood gushed out. The wound in his chest healed rapidly, and the image of Diana suddenly appeared in his mind.

"I have to help her!"

With a burst of energy, the bluestone bricks beneath his feet shattered, and with a whoosh, he transformed into a blur, chasing after the guards who had ridden away.

Torres didn't know why he was doing this; he only knew he had to!

Two small holes in Toris's neck slowly healed.

The inner city was in chaos, and news of the viscount's murder had spread.

Countless guards searched the entire city for the perpetrator, but they were always a step too late. By the time they discovered the trail and arrived, they only found the shop owner's body dismembered and a group of children. Everywhere was the same, so they had no choice but to take all the children back with them.

The west gate of the palace slowly opened, and Brenda, dressed in golden armor, rode a white horse with a strange smile on his face.

"Follow me to apprehend the perpetrator!"

"Yes!!!"

Behind him were knights dressed in neat silver armor, riding black horses; the procession was very long and numbered in the hundreds.

Brenda did not order a search, but instead went straight to a wide street.

The orderly procession stood imposingly in the middle of the street, while Brenda waited quietly on horseback.

People in the surrounding shops looked out their windows at the long procession of knights and discussed it amongst themselves.

Inside a hotel, many of the people eating and drinking were gathered around the window watching.

"Boss lady! Do you know what terrible thing has happened?"

A man with a full beard looked at the alluring proprietress standing by the window with a burning gaze.

"I heard from a guy who just got back that there's a girl named Diana who's been rescuing trafficked children all over the inner city!"

"What! Isn't that a noble's property?! Does she want to die?!"

"Diana? Why does that name sound so familiar?"

"Isn't that the genius girl from Austin Magic Academy? She's the one who repelled the Demon King's army! It was all the rage a while ago!"

"Yes! That's her! No wonder her name sounds so familiar! This is troublesome! Nobles don't tolerate any injustice!"

The proprietress's alluring voice rang out.

"I also heard from that fellow that this girl killed a viscount!"

The chatter inside the hotel stopped abruptly, falling into a brief, deathly silence, followed by gasps of shock.

"The sky is about to fall!"

"What a pity! I really thought highly of this girl! She was too impulsive!"

"I have a feeling she can win!"

"Are you kidding me? She's offended all the nobles and even killed a viscount! Do you think His Majesty the King would forgive her!"

"Isn't anyone willing to help her? She's clearly doing the right thing!"

The proprietress's words brought everyone into silence once again.

The thought of 'wanting to help!' only lasted for a moment in everyone's minds!

Someone gave a self-deprecating laugh.

"Help? How can we help! We're nothing but a bunch of ants!"

A loud thud echoed as Diana, dressed in white, landed in the middle of the street!

Brenda's smile widened even more when she saw Diana finally arrive.

"Diana! For the sake of being the Sword Saint's disciple, immediately lay down your weapon and confess your crimes! Otherwise, your life will be in danger!"

Diana simply looked at Brenda calmly.

"Those who obstruct will die!"

Diana's calm voice sent chills down the spines of the knights, as if, just as she said, anyone who stood in her way would die!

Brenda gripped the spear on his back in his hand.

"One! Three! Squad, take down Diana! Dead or alive!"

"Yes!"

One group wielded greatswords, a third group carried spears, and forty men dismounted and left the ranks.

Forty people surrounded Diana in a grand procession.

"Do it!"

The squad leader shouted, the ground beneath his feet shattered, and he charged forward, gripping his greatsword in both hands. The ten knights around him, each wielding a greatsword, attacked almost simultaneously.

A transparent blue shield instantly appeared around Diana, and eleven greatswords slammed heavily into the shield with a whooshing sound.

The shield deformed, and the greatsword in the squad leader's hand suddenly flashed with a white light. Cracks appeared in the shield, and he was overjoyed, increasing the force in his hand.

With a crack, the shield shattered, but there was another shield underneath, which blocked the sword strike!

Suddenly! A long spear pierced through several layers of shields without any resistance, heading straight for Diana's back!

Diana turned and grabbed the spear. To the horrified look of the third squad leader, Diana beheaded him with a single stroke, instantly turning the water on the ground red!

"team leader!"

The three teams, who had been waiting for their chance, roared and charged forward! Their spears were thrust at Diana.

"Chain Dragon Thunder!"

As Diana finished speaking.

Violent arcs of electricity rose around Diana, and more than a dozen lightning-shaped chains pierced precisely through everyone around her!

When the violent lightning subsided, Diana was surrounded by charred corpses, with occasional flashes of electric arcs!

Brenda's face was grave, but inwardly he was laughing hysterically.

'Kill! Kill more!'
