"You're employing child labor!"

Xu Ning made a joke that the Sumeru people couldn't understand.

Seeing Bai Shu's puzzled expression, Xu Ning handed the bag to Bai Shu and said with a smile, "What I mean is, I'll take care of Qi Qi's food, clothing, and lodging. Let her do whatever she wants, and she doesn't have to do those herb-gathering and sorting jobs."

Bai Shu looked at the several sets of exquisite clothes in the bag and said with a wry smile, "You'll spoil the child like this. Letting her do more things will actually help her recover."

"Playing is fine too..."

Xu Ning wanted to argue further, but Qi Qi, who was standing next to him, raised her hand and gently tugged at his sleeve.

"Qiqi likes to collect herbs."

Xu Ning pinched Qi Qi's little face and said with a smile, "Alright, Qi Qi can do whatever she likes."

As Bai Shu led Qi Qi away, Xu Ning smiled and reminded Bai Shu, "Brother Bai Shu, don't forget our promise. I'll visit her from time to time."

Bai Shu smiled, said nothing, and led Qi Qi toward Yujingtai.

Ningguang remained silent throughout, secretly observing Baishu.

Upon hearing Xu Ning mention the "agreement," she asked, "What agreement did you make with him? Was it about Qi Qi?"

Xu Ning said seriously, "Yes, I warned him not to do anything strange to Qi Qi, or I will beat him to death with my own hands, in a very cruel way."

Ningguang glared at Xu Ning, "You're talking nonsense again."

"However, I really can't see through this person. I always feel that he's hiding a lot of things. Let's wait and see!"

As the two were talking, they suddenly saw Xiangling running over from outside and disappearing into Wanmin Hall.

After hearing a few loud banging sounds from inside, Xiao Xiangling rushed out again, carrying a brand-new wok.

"What are you rushing off to, little one?"

Ningguang watched Xiangling's departing figure, then suddenly reached out and tugged at Xu Ning's clothes, saying, "Xu Ning, you should follow her and see what's going on. I saw a very fierce-looking girl following behind her. Maybe something's happened..."

A fierce-looking little girl?

Xu Ning looked around, but they had already run far away and could no longer see anything.

"Okay, I don't have anything else to do anyway, so I'll go check it out. But I bet the little guy is going to experiment with some weird dishes again. Don't you want to come with me and try them?"

Ningguang stood up. "Go by yourself! I'm not like some hands-off manager who does nothing all day. I have several businesses under my management now, and I'm very busy."

"Now that Xiangling's matter is settled, when you have some free time, go and replenish the wine and spirits in the warehouse. Beidou should be back in the next day or two. Keep an eye out near the dock. If you can catch her, she'll be very happy."

Xu Ning agreed to everything, then said with a smirk, "Ningguang, you're becoming more and more like the matriarch of the family."

Before Ningguang could show any shame or anger, Xu Ning laughed and ran away.

Xu Ning was fast on his feet and soon caught up with Xiang Ling.

There was indeed a fierce-looking girl next to her, who was half a head taller than Xiangling.

Xu Ning didn't go up to greet Xiang Ling, but followed behind at a distance, wanting to see what the two little ones were up to.

The little ones ran all the way to the dock and then ran down a pier opposite the White Horse Inn.

If you follow them here, the two little ones will see you.

Xu Ning went straight onto the bridge, sat on the railing, drank his wine, and looked down.

The two little ones turned off the pier and went straight to a big ginkgo tree.

There, a few stones had been placed there at some point, forming a rough stove-like structure, with some bottles and jars placed next to it.

"The stone is very hot, so don't use your hands."

The little girl with dark skin and a fierce appearance reminded him.

"I know."

Xiangling tossed the wok aside, dragged a stick out of the grass, and used it to push down the stone cover on the stove, revealing a bright red fire slime.

Xiangling pressed the wok down, threw in a piece of fatty pork, and carefully wiped the inside of the wok. After washing it, she replaced the piece of pork and wiped it again.

"It might break again soon, so let's just leave it as it is!"

The dark-skinned, fierce-looking little girl said somewhat impatiently.

Xiangling nodded, took the oil from the jar, and began to cook.

"What an audacious little guy! He actually put a fire slime here. Isn't he afraid that this little thing will run out and burn down the bridge?"

Xu Ning shook his head, watched for a while, and when Xiang Ling was about to plate the food, he jumped off the bridge and landed directly behind the two of them.

This startled Xiangling so much that she almost dropped the wok she was holding.

Xu Ning reached out and took the wok from him. "Let me pour it in! Hmm, it smells pretty good. Oh, it's fish. Um, what's this sticky stuff on top?"

When Xiangling saw that it was Xu Ning, she lost all fear and put on a silly smile. "Brother Xu Ning, come and have some too! It's my new dish!"

Xu Ning flicked her forehead and said, "Playing here, aren't you afraid of getting burned? You haven't told your brother what's in this sticky stuff?"

Xiangling pointed to the fire slime trapped by the rocks, "The one that was accidentally blown up last time, I picked up some clean condensate left behind, and it came in handy this time."

"Xin Yan, you should try it too. Don't worry, this is Brother Xu Ning, it's nothing."

Xu Ning smiled as he looked at the dark-skinned, fierce-looking girl. So it was Xin Yan!

Without those strange costumes with little spikes, I really couldn't think of it right away.

However, with her dark skin and fierce face that looked like she was angry, it seemed that there was no one else in Liyue Harbor besides her.

"Hello, my name is Xu Ning."

Xin Yan walked up and looked at Xu Ning, saying, "I've seen you on the mountain."

Xu Ning poured the bizarre dishes from the pot onto a plate, and was taken aback when she heard Xin Yan's words.

Which mountain?

Xin Yan said, "Tianheng Mountain. That night, you and two other people suddenly emerged from the ground."

Xu Ning was genuinely taken aback. "Where were you at the time?"

Xin Yan picked up a piece of fish from beside the stove, carefully smelled it, and found no strange smell before answering, "I was in a bad mood that day, sitting on the edge of the cliff in a daze, so I didn't pay attention to you when you came."

Xu Ning thought for a long time but couldn't recall anything unusual about the area where he and Ying were standing at the time.

At night, this passive ability is even more terrifying than Night Orchid's Stealth and Concealment. The darkness is your best camouflage, little girl!

After a moment of internal reflection, I realized that Xin Yan had already eaten several pieces of fish.

"Um, doesn't it have any unusual flavor?"

Xu Ning asked cautiously.

Xin Yan closed his eyes and savored the moment. "Well, there are occasional off-beat rhythms, but they don't really matter. If you add some drum beats, like that spicy and hot explosive feeling, I dare say it would be even more 'crackling'. Overall, it's very rock and roll."

Xiangling was clearly looking forward to Xin Yan's comments on her new dish, but before she could finish listening, a look of despair appeared on her face.

"Xiangling doesn't understand anything about 'syncing' or 'drumbeats,' Brother Xu Ning, do you know what she's saying?"
