Rebirth of a Farmer's Dad

After Principal Chen left, Luo Feng was overjoyed. It seemed his hard work had paid off, and he could finally enjoy the lucrative cafeteria job. Without dwelling on his own happiness, Luo Feng immediately shared the news with everyone. Hearing such good news, everyone was naturally thrilled. They knew that the more money Luo Feng earned, the higher their own income would be. After so much time together, everyone knew that Luo Feng was impeccable when it came to brotherhood.

And so, Luo Feng arrived at the school the next day with Biaozi and the other two. Of course, he brought all the necessary equipment; Luo Feng had even bought the groceries so they could start operating normally that day. As long as the principal gave the approval, they could immediately take over the cafeteria's operations.

Their purpose in coming here was, of course, to see Principal Chen, as agreed upon yesterday. Besides, they weren't very familiar with the school, and it would be strange if problems didn't arise if they rashly took over the cafeteria.

"Principal Chen, how have you been?" After asking around the school and finding out where Principal Chen's office was, Luo Feng greeted him warmly as soon as he entered.

"You're here pretty early, kid." Principal Chen squinted at them, seemingly still harboring resentment about what happened yesterday.

"They say the early bird catches the worm, and I'm just trying to make money," Luo Feng said with a smile, touching his nose.

"Alright, enough with the nonsense. I'll send someone to take you to the cafeteria. The handover will be taken care of. Also, here are the relevant regulations set by the school. You can take them back and read them carefully, and strictly abide by them in the future." Principal Chen said, taking the document out of the drawer in front of him and handing it to Luo Feng. Then he turned to his assistant and asked him to take a few people to the cafeteria.

Just one day later, the principal's assistant naturally couldn't be changed; it was still Assistant Yang leading the way. Although he and Luo Feng had some unpleasantness, he didn't dare disobey Principal Chen's orders and could only reluctantly lead Luo Feng and the others to the cafeteria. Perhaps wanting to finish this task quickly, he bought supplies noticeably faster than usual. Left with no choice, Luo Feng and the others quickened their pace to keep up.

Assistant Yang led them to the cafeteria, greeted the staff there, and then left without giving Luo Feng and the others much advice. It seems she's not a very forgiving person and is still holding a grudge about yesterday's events.

"Assistant Yang, wait a minute, let's chat for a bit." Luo Feng called out to Assistant Yang as he turned to leave after seeing him lead them to the cafeteria.

"The principal asked me to bring you to the cafeteria. My task is complete. Is there anything else you need?" Assistant Yang said impatiently.

"Don't be in such a hurry to leave. It's not like we've never met before. Can't we stay and chat for a bit?" Luo Feng said with a smile, taking Assistant Yang's arm.

"Let go of me, I have things to do, I don't have time to mess around with you here." Assistant Yang shook off Luo Feng's hand and said to him.

"Don't be like that. What happened that day was my fault, but we were just working for different people, so there's nothing to explain." Luo Feng said, taking out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and putting it into Yang Shun's pocket. These were his treasured cigarettes; he wouldn't even smoke them himself.

"You seem quite sensible today. What was wrong with you the other day?" Assistant Yang, having received a bribe, began to speak more politely.

"Brother, let me tell you the truth, I wasn't doing this to you. Look at the attitude of your Principal Chen. If I hadn't done that, he would have bullied me in the future!" He said, making a very helpless expression.

“You’re quite shrewd, buddy, but how are we going to settle this? If you can’t give me a proper explanation, who knows, one day I might let something slip and Principal Chen will come after you.” Assistant Yang said, staring at Luo Feng and giving him a meaningful smile.

"Sure thing, I'll set up a table at the shop later, please do me the honor." I thought there was only a small misunderstanding between the two of them, and at most a hundred apology drinks would suffice.

"You think you can just fob me off with one drink? Do you think I'm a beggar?" Assistant Yang said to Luo Feng, his eyes darting around, clearly intending to squeeze a hefty sum out of him.

"How about this, I see you're still so young, do you have a girlfriend yet? From now on, whenever you bring her, I'll give you a 20% discount, how about that?" Luo Feng thought for a moment and gave this answer, which was already his bottom line.

"That's settled then. You decide the date, and just let me know when it's time. Just so you know, if the wine or food isn't good, don't blame me for flipping the table." Assistant Yang finished speaking and left the cafeteria without looking back. Before leaving, he glared at everyone, as if telling them to keep what happened today to themselves.

"Brother Feng, who is this guy? He acts all high and mighty, I just want to punch him." After Assistant Yang left, Biaozi was the first to come over. He couldn't stand people like this who bully others by relying on their power.

“Anyone who didn’t know better would think he was some high-ranking official. Look how arrogant he is,” Afu chimed in.

"Alright, we'll be doing business at school in the future, and we might need his help. Let him have a taste of success; there's nothing wrong with that," Luo Feng advised them.

"Alright, everyone, stop standing around and get to work. Don't delay the students' meals," Luo Feng urged everyone to get to their posts immediately.

"Brother Feng, I'm still a little unconvinced. Why is it that way?" Biaozi muttered from the side.

"Alright, let's leave this alone. Can't you guys learn from Baosheng? Look at him, he's been working so hard all this time." Luo Feng said, pointing to Baosheng who was picking vegetables on the side.

"Brother Feng, do you think we should find a place to give that kid a good whack?" Bao Sheng suddenly looked up and said to Luo Feng.

"What kind of people are you? None of you have learned anything good. Alright, alright, get back to work. From today onwards, this place is our territory." Luo Feng rolled his eyes at them, annoyed. He wondered when these kids had gone astray.

Since today was his first day taking over the cafeteria, Luo Feng didn't want anything to go wrong. Plus, preparations were still somewhat lacking, and there weren't enough staff. So, Luo Feng decided to stay and help. Gu Zi would handle things at the shop, but it seemed the cafeteria would need to hire more people later; otherwise, such a large cafeteria couldn't possibly be managed by just three or four people.

This needs to be done quickly; I don't have that much time to worry about the cafeteria. But it's actually quite easy—just pick a few students from less well-off families to help out. It only takes them two or three hours a day, and they get three meals a day. If they do a good job, they can even earn some money to help support their families. It's such a good thing; I don't believe no one would do it.

It's settled then. I'll write a notice and post it outside the cafeteria tomorrow.
