"Ignore her, she's just trying to get attention." Qin Reng turned his head, his face cold and his eyes showing a hint of disdain. He gripped Yu Yuetong's hand tightly, and the warm touch calmed her anger slightly.

"Oh, is Young Master Qin protecting your wife?" Ji Momo feigned surprise, her tone laced with sarcasm. "Don't be fooled by her gentleness. While you're backing her up, don't you know she's like a flower swaying in the wind, easily blown to pieces?"

Yu Yuetong's expression changed frequently. She knew that Ji Momo's words were not without reason. In such a wealthy family background, the so-called marriage was more like a war without gunpowder.

“But I will protect those I want to protect.” Qin Reng’s voice was firm, a conviction that seemed to emanate from his very bones. His gaze swept between Yue Tong and Ji Momo for a fleeting moment, but the next second it intensified into a possessive look towards Yue Tong. He turned his head, looking directly at Ji Momo, a slight smile playing on his lips. “However, your accusations are meaningless now, because I have already decided to walk my own path.”

"What are you talking about?" Ji Momo's expression changed instantly, revealing her old displeasure. "Are you trying to settle things with me? Or perhaps your choices were already predetermined?"

"I told you, you're not allowed to disturb our lives anymore." Qin Reng's voice was like a cold, sharp blade, piercing straight to Ji Momo's heart.

Ji Momo's eyes turned cold, and the smile on her lips vanished abruptly: "You think you can make me back down by saying a few harsh words? You're dreaming!"

"Ah!" Just then, the door was pushed open again, as if a whirlwind had swept in, interrupting the tense atmosphere between the two sides.

Yu Yuetong subconsciously turned her head and looked towards the doorway. There was a long, slender shadow; all she could see was an outline, as alluring as the sudden darkness of night.

"Who's disturbing the peace of my home!" The voice was as loud as thunder, instantly changing the atmosphere of the entire room, and everyone looked in that direction.

Yu Yuetong instinctively turned around and peered through the crack in the door. The long, slender shadow gradually came into focus. A figure she recognized appeared in front of the door—it was Qin Yu. He frowned slightly, seemingly surprised to see such a chaotic scene.

"Who dares disturb the peace of my home!" Qin Yu's voice boomed like thunder, carrying an undeniable air of authority as he stormed into the room. Yu Yuetong's heart tightened; though unwilling to admit it, the arrival of this male supporting character unexpectedly brought her a sense of security.

"Oh dear, is this a family matter?" Ji Momo laughed dismissively. "Young Master Qin, don't you think interfering in other people's marriages is a superfluous act?"

Qin Yu glanced at Ji Momo out of the corner of his eye, seemingly unconcerned about her provocation. His gaze quickly settled on Yu Yuetong, his eyes filled with concern: "Are you alright?"

Yu Yuetong felt a warmth in her heart and quickly shook her head: "I'm fine, he was just saying some trivial things."

"Irrelevant words?" Ji Momo tapped the table lightly with her finger, her expression dismissive. "It seems I unintentionally disturbed your tender moment."

"I don't want to waste my time here with you." Qin Yu's voice was cold and deep, his fighting spirit imposing. "I know what you mean. Perfect, I have no interest in your kind of gossip."

“Fine, I don’t want to argue with you about this boring topic either,” Ji Momo retorted, a sly glint in her eyes. “However, since you’re here, let’s talk about your marriage with Yu Yuetong!”

These words struck Yu Yuetong like a thunderclap. Her face turned pale instantly, and she felt a cold wind rise from her feet. She was about to retort when Qin Yu interrupted her.

"Don't flatter yourself!" Qin Yu strode forward, approaching Ji Momo. His calm demeanor was like a mountain, leaving her powerless to resist. "Yu Yuetong is my wife, and it has nothing to do with you!"

Ji Momo's lips curled into a mocking smile: "Since she's your wife, let's see if she's looking forward to this marriage."

"Young Master Qin, to be honest, was this marriage something she willingly agreed to?" Ji Momo's tone was laced with malice, like steel needles piercing Yu Yuetong's heart.

Yu Yuetong bit her lower lip in embarrassment, a tangle of emotions swirling within her, impossible to unravel. She knew these words were like a mirror, reflecting her pain vividly. But she refused to expose her vulnerability at this moment, gritting her teeth as she said, "That's between Qin Reng and me, it has nothing to do with you!"

“A woman’s virtue lies in her lack of talent, but unfortunately you don’t even have that.” Ji Momo leaned forward slightly, her eyes filled with amusement. “This marriage is nothing more than a transaction, and your fate has already been decided in the hands of your family.”

The words had barely left his mouth when Qin Yu, enraged, raised his right hand, which seemed about to strike. "Shut up!"

"I really want to know, what gives you the right to be so domineering!" Ji Momo's eyes were unrestrained, like a wild dog approaching its prey, not missing any opportunity to confront her. Qin Yu met her head-on, and the atmosphere immediately became tense, as if an unavoidable conflict was brewing between them.

Seeing this, Yu Yuetong's alarm bells went off. She didn't want to stand by and watch two powerful figures start a war in front of her. She took a deep breath, trying to mediate the verbal battle: "Enough, stop arguing!"

But then, Ji Momo's smile became even more provocative: "Yu Yuetong, you'll never succeed in relying on anyone in this life. In the end, you'll still end up in an embarrassing situation." After saying that, she turned around, seemingly wanting to leave.

Qin Yu stared intently at her departing figure, then yelled at Yu Yuetong, "Don't listen to her nonsense!"

Yu Yuetong felt a tightness in her chest. She wanted to retort, but couldn't utter a word. The turbulent emotions within her overwhelmed her. In the end, she could only lower her head, concealing the tears welling up in her eyes, a mixture of anger and fear.

"I'm fine, I'm okay." Yu Yuetong's lips trembled slightly, but reason prevailed over emotion, and she forced a smile.

"But I don't want you to be alright." Qin Yu's eyes were firm as he said in a low voice, "As long as I'm here, no one will be allowed to humiliate you!"

"What kind of relationship is this marriage?" Ji Momo's words were like a boulder thrown into the water, creating a huge ripple. Yu Yuetong's heart trembled, her eyes instantly reddened, and her heart felt as if it had been pierced by those sharp words.

"Stop spouting nonsense!" Qin Yu shouted coldly, his voice as deafening as thunder. He stared directly at Ji Momo, his gaze piercing, yet he seemed to be suppressing an even greater rage.

Ji Momo merely scoffed, walking straight towards Yu Yuetong. She elegantly lifted her skirt, as if she were already seated in the audience. "Yu Yuetong, I really want to know what you're truly thinking? Are you really willing to marry Qin Yu?"
