Yu Yuetong clenched her fists, but finally nodded. She practically fled the office, regretting her weakness the whole way.

This man is too dangerous; she needs to find a way to switch back to her body quickly. Otherwise, she's afraid she'll really fall for this whole charade.

But is it really just acting?

Yu Yuetong shook her head, banishing the absurd thought from her mind. Her biggest concern now was how to face the increasingly enigmatic man tonight.

Yu Yuetong sat in the conference room, but couldn't hear a single word. Her thoughts kept drifting back to everything that had just happened in the office—Qin Reng's hot breath, his dangerous gaze, and the words, "That's an order."

She rubbed her temples in frustration, trying to focus on the projector. But the man's image lingered in her mind like a persistent ghost.

"President Yu? President Yu?"

Her assistant's voice pulled her back to reality. Yu Yuetong then realized that the meeting had ended sometime earlier, and she was the only one left in the conference room.

"Are you alright?" the assistant asked worriedly. "Should I make an appointment with a doctor for you?"

"No need." Yu Yuetong stood up, glanced at her watch; it was already five in the afternoon. "What else is on the itinerary for today?"

"Mr. Qin said you should go straight home," the assistant said cautiously. "All other appointments have been cancelled."

Yu Yuetong gritted her teeth: "He really is decisive and efficient."

“Um… Mr. Yu,” the assistant hesitated, “Ms. Ji came by again this afternoon and said she wanted to invite you to dinner tonight.”

Yu Yuetong narrowed her eyes: "What did she say?"

"Miss Ji said... said she has something important to tell you, about Qin Yu."

Yu Yuetong's heart tightened. Qin Yu, that ruthless and unpredictable male supporting character, seemed unusually quiet lately. According to the original plot, he should have already started dealing with Qin Reng.

“Tell President Qin that I have an important dinner party tonight.” Yu Yuetong picked up her bag. “Just say it’s with Qin Yu’s business partner.”

"But President Qin said..."

“I’ll handle his side,” Yu Yuetong interrupted her assistant. “You just need to do as I say.”

Stepping out of the company building, Yu Yuetong hailed a taxi. She knew she was taking a risk; Qin Reng, that control freak, would definitely be furious. But if she could know Qin Yu's plans beforehand, perhaps she could avoid some unnecessary trouble.

However, she didn't expect that this decision would get her into an even bigger problem.

Ji Momo had booked a private room at a high-end restaurant in the city center. As soon as Yu Yuetong pushed open the door, she smelled a strong aroma of red wine.

Inside the private room, Ji Momo was elegantly swirling her wine glass, while sitting opposite her was the last person Yu Yuetong wanted to see—Qin Yu.

"Long time no see, fiancée." Qin Yu raised his wine glass, a meaningful smile playing on his lips.

Yu Yuetong's hand tightened on the doorknob. She suddenly realized that she might have fallen into an elaborate trap.

Yu Yuetong stood at the door, her mind racing. She knew that the last thing she should do was turn around and run away, as that would only give Qin Yu something to use against her.

“Qin Yu,” she said coldly, deliberately mimicking Qin Reng’s usual tone, “what do you mean by this?”

"Don't be so cold." Qin Yu stood up, walked around the table towards her, and said, "We were once engaged, so it's not unreasonable for us to sit down and have a drink, is it?"

Yu Yuetong subtly moved a step to the side, avoiding his outstretched hand. She glanced at Ji Momo, who was engrossed in her phone, seemingly oblivious to everything.

"A marriage agreement?" Yu Yuetong sneered. "That's all in the past. Now I am Qin Reng's wife, and I hope you remember that."

"Really?" Qin Yu suddenly leaned closer and whispered in her ear, "But I feel like your relationship with Qin Reng has been a bit off lately."

Yu Yuetong's heart skipped a beat. Had he discovered something? She forced herself to remain calm and was about to speak when her phone suddenly vibrated.

It was Qin Reng who called.

"Aren't you going to answer?" Qin Yu looked at her meaningfully. "Your good husband is looking for you."

Just as Yu Yuetong was about to press the answer button, Qin Yu suddenly grabbed her wrist. "Don't rush off, we haven't even started yet."

Just then, the door to the private room was pushed open from the outside.

"I'd like to see what you're going to start."

Qin Reng stood at the door, his face terribly grim. He walked in step by step, his gaze lingering for a few seconds on the spot where Qin Yu was gripping Yu Yuetong's wrist.

"Let her go." His voice carried a strong warning.

Qin Yu not only didn't let go, but instead pulled Yu Yuetong closer to him. "What's wrong, Qin Reng, are you jealous?"

Yu Yuetong felt Qin Yu's fingers tightening little by little, and she couldn't help but frown. The next second, a warm, large hand covered her other wrist, and with a gentle pull, she was drawn into a strong embrace.

"I said, let her go." Qin Reng's voice was as cold as ice. "Or do you want the whole capital to know that the eldest son of the prestigious Qin family is coveting his own cousin's wife?"

Qin Yu's expression changed, and he finally let go.

"Let's go." Qin Reng put his arm around Yu Yuetong's shoulder and walked out. He suddenly stopped when he passed Ji Momo. "Miss Ji, if you dare to set up a trap like this again, don't blame me for being impolite."

Ji Momo suddenly raised her head, her face pale.

Only after getting into the car did Yu Yuetong finally let out a long sigh of relief. She secretly glanced at the man beside her and noticed that his expression was still very unpleasant.

"Um... thank you," she said softly.

Qin Reng turned his head, staring intently at her: "You want to see him that much?"

"I didn't!" Yu Yuetong hurriedly explained, "I just wanted to know what he's been up to lately."

"So you're just jumping into a trap yourself?" Qin Reng suddenly raised his voice. "Do you even know who he is? What if he...?"

He stopped abruptly halfway through his sentence, turned his head away, and remained silent.

Yu Yuetong was stunned. Was he... worried about her?

"I'm sorry," she whispered. "I won't do it again."

The carriage was quiet for a while before Qin Reng finally spoke in a muffled voice: "Go home."

Yu Yuetong nodded, but sighed inwardly. She had a feeling that this matter wouldn't end so easily. Sure enough, Qin Yu lived up to his reputation as a supporting male character; his move was truly insidious.

The car drove smoothly through the night. Yu Yuetong leaned back in her seat, her mind a jumbled mess. Qin Yu's actions today were clearly premeditated, and Ji Momo's seemingly indifferent demeanor was probably also part of this scheme.

Just then, the man beside me suddenly spoke up: "Your wrist."

Yu Yuetong was startled, only then noticing that she was unconsciously rubbing the spot where Qin Yu had grabbed her. A faint red mark had appeared there.
