After swapping bodies, I became a domineering CEO in a melodramatic novel.

Chapter 10. Is the money you're giving more than the divorce settlement?

She wore a bright red, form-fitting dress that showed off her curvaceous figure. She walked straight up to Qin Reng, a hint of provocation in her eyes: "Mrs. Qin, long time no see. Your belly is so big now. It seems you've really had a tough time."

Qin Reng retorted with a forced smile, "Miss Ji is joking. Compared to Miss Ji's busy schedule, what is my hardship?" He deliberately emphasized the word "hardship" to subtly mock Ji Momo.

Ji Momo's face stiffened for a moment, then she smiled again: "Mrs. Qin is quite humorous. However, I heard you've been preparing divorce papers recently? It seems the life of a wealthy wife isn't as glamorous as it appears to outsiders."

Qin Reng cursed inwardly, but kept a straight face: "Miss Ji's information network is indeed impressive, but this is my private matter, so I won't trouble you with it."

Yu Yuetong watched the two of them go back and forth, secretly applauding them. Qin Reng really did have the air of pregnancy brain fog when he pretended to be pregnant, and he didn't hold back when he started to argue.

Just then, the old man walked over, leaning on his cane, followed by Qin Xian and Han Shuang. Seeing Qin Reng's large belly, the old man beamed, "My dear granddaughter-in-law, how have you been feeling lately? Is there anything bothering you?"

Qin Reng quickly put on a well-behaved expression: "Grandpa, I'm fine, you don't need to worry."

The old man patted him on the shoulder and said earnestly, "Good, that's good. The child in your belly is the future of our Qin family, so you must take good care of yourself."

Qin Reng nodded vigorously, but in his heart he was thinking: If this old man knew that I had nothing in my belly, he would probably be so angry that he would faint.

After dealing with the old man, Qin Reng felt his back was soaked with sweat. He rubbed his "belly" and silently prayed: God help me, please don't let this give me away!

As soon as the old man left, Qin Reng immediately reverted to his lazy demeanor, slumping in his chair like a deflated balloon. Seeing this, Yu Yuetong couldn't help but tease him, "Young Master Qin, it's a real shame your acting skills aren't worthy of an Oscar."

Qin Reng rolled his eyes at her: "Stop talking nonsense. Do you think I want to pretend to be pregnant? My back is about to break!"

As the two were bickering, a group of elegantly dressed socialites walked over, their eyes fixed on Qin Reng's belly, filled with curiosity and envy.

"Mrs. Qin, congratulations on becoming a mother soon."

"Yes, yes, her belly is so big, it must be a boy, right?"

"Wow, your skin is so well-maintained, not a single pregnancy spot. I'm so envious."

Qin Reng felt a surge of annoyance at the flattery. He hated dealing with these kinds of situations, especially having to pretend to be a happy pregnant woman. He forced a stiff smile and said, "Thank you for your concern, ladies. I'm perfectly fine."

"Mrs. Qin, you're still so beautiful even though you're pregnant. It's truly enviable," said a woman in a leopard-print fur coat, her tone tinged with envy. "Unlike me, when I was pregnant with my son, I gained a full thirty pounds, and stretch marks even appeared on my neck."

Another woman in a mink coat chimed in, "That's right, pregnancy is so tough. Not only does it ruin your figure, but you also suffer from morning sickness and insomnia. It's a nightmare."

Qin Reng listened to their complaints, secretly relieved that he was only faking his pregnancy and wouldn't have to go through all that pain. He responded perfunctorily, but in his heart, he was thinking about finding an excuse to slip away as soon as possible.

All of this was observed by Qin Yu from afar. He narrowed his eyes, staring intently at Qin Reng's stomach, his gaze dark and brooding.

He simply couldn't believe that "Yu Yuetong" was really pregnant.

Since Qin Reng married Yu Yuetong, the old man's attitude towards him has changed significantly, which makes Qin Yu feel a deep sense of crisis.

"Impossible, absolutely impossible!" Qin Yu muttered to himself. He took out his phone and dialed his assistant's number. "Find out for me whether Yu Yuetong is really pregnant! I need concrete evidence!"

On the other side, Qin Reng finally got rid of the chattering ladies. He breathed a sigh of relief, feeling like he had escaped from the jaws of a tiger.

He picked up a glass of champagne, ready to drink it all in one gulp, but Yu Yuetong stopped him.

"What are you doing? Pregnant women can't drink alcohol, have you forgotten?" Yu Yuetong looked at him helplessly.

Qin Reng then remembered that he was still pretending to be pregnant. He awkwardly put down his wine glass and muttered, "I know, I know, this is so annoying!"

Yu Yuetong couldn't help but laugh when she saw his expression: "Alright, stop complaining. Once you get the inheritance, you can drink however you want."

Qin Reng glanced at her sideways: "Easy for you to say. Do you think the right to inherit is so easy to get? The old man is shrewd. If he finds out I'm faking my pregnancy, we're both finished."

Yu Yuetong patted his shoulder and comforted him, "Don't worry, I'm here. I won't let you get caught."

The black Maybach drove smoothly on the night-covered highway.

The atmosphere inside the carriage was subtle.

Qin Reng leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes to rest, his brows furrowed, as if he were pondering some important national matter.

Yu Yuetong was playing on her phone listlessly, occasionally stealing glances at the "pregnant woman" beside her.

"Hey, Mr. Qin, are you addicted to acting? The scene's over, and you're still keeping that long face?" Yu Yuetong finally couldn't help but break the silence.

Qin Reng opened his eyes and glanced at her sideways: "I'm willing, it's none of your business."

"Fine, if you're willing, how could I dare to interfere?" Yu Yuetong rolled her eyes and continued playing on her phone.

Silence descended once more, but this time, it carried a subtle, almost imperceptible ambiguity.

The space inside the carriage was not large, and the two were very close. The faint scent of cologne on Qin Reng mixed with an unknown fragrance wafted into Yu Yuetong's nose, making her feel a little distracted.

"Yu Yuetong," Qin Reng suddenly spoke, his voice low, "Do you really want a divorce?"

This question surprised Yu Yuetong.

She looked up and met Qin Reng's deep gaze, and felt a sudden, inexplicable panic.

"Of course I want to, do you think you can just cling to me?" she replied casually, but her tone clearly lacked confidence.

"Heh," Qin Reng chuckled lightly, "Stuck with you? You think too highly of yourself. I'm just curious, you went to so much trouble to marry me, and now you're in such a hurry to get a divorce, what is it all for?"

Yu Yuetong's eyes flickered, avoiding Qin Reng's gaze. "For money, what else could it be?"

"For money?" Qin Reng repeated, a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "If you need money, I can give it to you. Why get a divorce?"

"Can the money you give be more than the divorce settlement?" Yu Yuetong retorted, her tone tinged with provocation.
