Magical Journey: The Other Shore Blooms on the Other Shore
Chapter 50 The Royal Thresher of Serestria, Part 4
"Elena—Elena—are you alright—" Fran abruptly stopped the magic.
Elena's emotions were clearly off; her face was deathly pale, as if she were experiencing something utterly desperate. If this continued, she would be consumed by the dream and never wake up again.
"Hoo—" Tears welled up in Elena's eyes, she could no longer hold them back, and a few had already dripped down before. "Teacher Fran—I..."
"Relax...relax..." Fran hugged Elena, just like she had hugged and comforted Elena for the first time. However, Elena had grown up a lot now, but Fran still found it easy to hug her.
"I'm sorry..." Elena murmured absentmindedly, then broke down in tears, unable to control her emotions. "I was so awful..."
Because this magic can only allow one person to immerse themselves in the memories of someone nearby, Fran had no idea what was happening.
But it seemed that the memory was even heavier than she had expected, and all she could do now was to comfort Elena in this way.
No one knows how long Elena cried, but by the time Fran let go, it was already early morning, and the next day was clearly fast approaching.
What exactly am I doing?
What did I do before? I kept asking him about Beatrice, repeatedly reopening his wounds...
I...I'm sorry...
She couldn't bear even the fragment of memory she felt; if it weren't a dream, the intense pain would have destroyed Elena's sanity ten thousand times over.
“Teacher Fran…” Elena quietly pressed herself against her teacher’s chest, breathing heavily, and she could still hear sobbing.
"I'm here." Fran gently stroked Elena's back, suddenly feeling that Elena had never been so attached to her before. What had she seen?
"For the first time, I feel so grateful to have you," Elena said with a bitter smile, though tears were still welling up in her eyes.
"Huh? Your first time? I'm so disappointed. You've been expelled from the sect." Fran's face fell. She was truly injured... the kind that couldn't be healed.
“I was just kidding,” Elena said. “Teacher Fran…”
"Who are you? I don't remember teaching a gray-haired witch. This lovely girl must be self-taught," Fran said.
"Hmph, I'm still the one who cooks every meal. Elena is heartbroken; she never expected to be abandoned by her teacher." Elena turned her face away, retaliating in kind.
Fran was ultimately no match for her apprentice and succumbed to Elaina's onslaught. She felt utterly defeated; she couldn't defeat her own teacher, and she couldn't defeat her own apprentice either—and they were mother and daughter after all…
Although it might seem inappropriate to bring this up now, but...
"Have you figured out what he really wants?" Fran still hadn't forgotten her original intention.
“Maybe,” Elena said.
"What is it?"
"The meaning of life".
"what?"
Why the sudden philosophical shift? What's this all about? Does living even need a meaning?
"How are you going to repay me for this?" Fran asked in a different phrasing.
"I don't know, probably... I can't give it to you."
Fran was about to ask something when there was a knock on the office door: "Hey, Fran, what happened to seeing you this morning?" It was that purple-haired magician...
Turns out I didn't sleep all night... and it's already tomorrow. Oh, at least Elena slept.
Fran opened the office door.
Behind Abigail, Jyn stood quietly, looking quite well after a good night's sleep.
In contrast to Qin's good spirits, Elena had dark circles under her eyes, clearly having just experienced a nightmare the night before.
The moment she saw Qin, Elena instinctively looked away, feeling a little guilty.
“I have to apologize to you,” Fran said to the harp.
“I don’t recall you having anything to apologize for,” Qin said, yawning.
He genuinely didn't know what he needed to apologize for and found Fran's behavior quite baffling.
“I was a bit rude to you yesterday,” Fran said. “As Irena’s teacher, it was disrespectful of me to treat you like that instead of expressing my gratitude.”
"Oh? Well—I'm used to it, please don't mind it."
got used to……
got used to……
He has truly gotten used to it... or perhaps he has automatically chosen to forget.
Elena wasn't feeling well.
"Alright, I've prepared the magical items. Let's start dispelling the Yin-Yang Sphere." The mage standing to the side, though not quite understanding what was happening, said, "Fran, don't forget you have class later, hurry up."
……
"It seems like everything's really alright?" Elena tried stepping back ten meters, feeling no discomfort whatsoever. The two culprits were now lying quietly in Abigail's hands. The black and white orbs had lost their luster.
Now they have lost their magic and become some kind of toy.
"Of course!" Fran laughed, patting her chest as if she were the one who had defused the two-dimensional spheres.
If a friend solved it, then by rounding it up, it's essentially the same as something you solved yourself. Thus, Fran's equation holds true.
Although the process of solving the problem of the Yin-Yang sphere was a little complicated, the result was good.
As expected of an expert who specializes in magical artifacts and has collaborated with the creator of the Yin-Yang Ball for a period of time, he is indeed different.
From this moment on, Elena and Qin no longer need to keep a distance of less than ten meters at all times.
Fran was initially quite worried about Elena's mental state, but when she found that Elena seemed to be in a good mood, she knew that her worries were unnecessary.
That's true. After all, she's Elena. If she didn't have this much self-coping ability, how could she possibly travel around alone?
She's not a flower in a greenhouse.
As usual, Qin remained silent, reading alone to the side; silence was his most common state.
"Um, Elena, are you free right now?" Fran asked.
"Huh? Me? Now?" Elena tilted her head and asked.
"You don't need to be going on a trip right now, do you?"
"Yes, I should stay for about three days."
"Then you have some free time. Could you help me teach my students? They seem really interested in talking to you."
“Uh…” Elena glanced at Qin subconsciously, but he seemed to be engrossed in his book and did not notice the situation at all, or perhaps he did not need to pay attention to the situation.
Fran noticed this, of course, but remained silent.
“Let’s go then, Ms. Fran.” Elena nodded in agreement.
Even though I was exhausted from a bad night's sleep, magic is an instinct ingrained in my bones, so teaching students is still quite possible. Since it was my teacher's request, of course I had to agree.
