Magical Journey: The Other Shore Blooms on the Other Shore

Chapter 41 The Royal Thresher of Serestria, Part 1

"They're over here!" a boy in a red tie shouted, followed by a group of mages riding brooms. Their target was clear: the two fleeing people in front of them.

Who are the two people on the broom flying at supersonic speed?

Naturally, it's Elena and Qin.

It's not easy to stay still on a broom that's flying at high speed; one wrong move and you could be thrown off. But Qin was standing on the broom, her dim eyes scanning the endless stream of mages surrounding her.

"What if you fall down like that?" Elena held onto her triangular magic hat, concentrating on driving her magic broom.

"Just focus on driving." Qin jumped up to dodge a water ball attack from a mage behind her, then performed a 720-degree backflip before landing safely on Elena's broom.

I'm worried that if you fall, I'll get blown up with you!

But seeing that Qin was completely unaffected, Elena suppressed her urge to complain and focused on driving.

"What kind of monster is he?" Jean's superb balance left the pursuing mages completely astonished. The group began to doubt whether the person even possessed magic, and how someone without magic could accomplish such a feat.

"I'll use my special skills later, you'll have to improvise." Seeing that more and more people were joining the chase, Elena wanted to end this chase drama as quickly as possible.

Although they probably wouldn't catch up with her if things continued this way, she didn't want to waste time on this.

It would be laughable if a dignified witch could be caught by you mages.

Qin remained noncommittal, constantly swaying her body to dodge the water ball attacks coming from all around.

Then Elena performed a freefall-like rapid descent, with her broom attempting to impact the ground at extremely high speed, like a meteorite striking the earth.

Under the watchful eyes of everyone around them, the two fell to the ground.

But there was no sound of it hitting the ground; it only kicked up a lot of gray dust.

When the dust settled and the group went down to check, the two men and the broom had vanished.

"Where did they go?"

……

"This is Royal Celestia." Elena put away the map, looked at the faintly visible city walls in the distance, and lazily stretched.

Finally, I can end today's tiring day of running around. Sitting on a broom while rushing around is quite exhausting.

I want to eat bread, lots and lots of bread.

After buying the bread, Elena began to admire the scenery of her newly arrived country.

Travel is usually that simple: buy bread, see the scenery, ask about local customs, and if you run out of money, go and earn some. This is the typical travel situation for most of her.

As for being hit by the Yin-Yang Sphere, being inexplicably forced to pretend to be someone's lover, or being asked to act as a goddess in a flashy manner, those are all unexpected situations.

She would leave once she had explored the kingdom, or when Elena felt bored and thought there was no need to continue.

A remarkably simple and unpretentious journey. Ultimately, life itself is simple and unpretentious.

Perhaps sometime in the future I'll return to this country, to buy bread from a familiar bakery. And so, another journey will begin.

"This is the Royal Magic University. Unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter." Just as Elena was munching on her bread and walked to the entrance of a magnificent building, she was stopped by a guard.

"So you are the witch, my apologies, but you still cannot enter." The guard looked at the star brooch on Elena's chest and immediately realized that this lovely girl was actually a witch.

And being so young, he must be a genius magician.

"Why?" Elena finished the last piece of bread.

"Because the witch of this school has ordered that no unauthorized personnel are allowed to enter, for fear that neighboring countries will steal the teaching materials."

"I see." Elena nodded in understanding.

It seems the witch at this school values teaching quite a bit. She must be a diligent and promising young witch, at least not like my teacher who feels like she can't survive without me cooking for her.

So the two of them went to look around elsewhere, not necessarily limiting themselves to this place.

After all, it's perfectly normal for a kingdom to have restricted areas that only casual visitors can enter.

There are many magicians in this kingdom; the streets are full of them. They use magic either for work or for performance.

There seems to be little barrier between magicians and ordinary people. Ordinary people will try to hang their clothes high to accommodate magicians who fly on brooms, and magicians rarely use brooms to travel in order to avoid disturbing the peace.

Overall, the atmosphere here seems nice.

Elena has been to many places where there aren't as many magicians. If she had to find a place with a comparable number of magicians, it would probably be the magician kingdom she visited a long, long time ago when she first set out on her travels, the country where she met Saya.

"I wonder how she is?" Elena murmured. It had been a long time since she first met Saya. Seeing so many energetic magic apprentices reminded her of that unexpected encounter with Saya.

Just as Elena was still lost in her memories, two students approached her and Qin.

"You must be the Gray Witch, Elena?" one of the boys asked.

"Oh, right." Elena tilted her head. What was going on? Was he going to offer her bread? And how did he even know her?

“Please…please come with us…” another girl stammered, her face flushed.

"Huh? Tell me why."

"No reason... Could you please come with me?"

"It looks suspicious no matter how you look at it."

The boy seemed to be planning to take some "violent" measures to get Elena to come with them, but the moment he raised his wand, he was stopped by Jean drawing her sword.

"And who are you?" the boy asked, puzzled.

"This is not important..." Qin said coldly. "Compared to this, if you don't explain properly, I'll take your head."

Elena knew that Jean was just threatening, and although she had gone a bit too far, the child was indeed quite rude. Moreover, raising a wand in front of a witch was perhaps a sign of overconfidence.

"Huh?" This left the boy dumbfounded.

Seeing that more and more people were gathering around her, Elena decided that it was best to leave. She summoned a magic broom, grabbed her harp, and fled at top speed, which led to the scene at the beginning...

With her superb piloting skills, Elena kept the archmages who were chasing her from ever getting close, and even the water balloons thrown by the students were all shot down by Jean.

It's clear from any angle that Elena's side is completely dominating.

Compared to Elena, the real witch, the students' magic was as clumsy as that of a three-year-old baby.

The final escape magic she performed even used her most secret weapon, which is very useful when encountering difficulties that one doesn't want to face.
