Magical Journey: The Other Shore Blooms on the Other Shore
Chapter 37 Bullying the Ugly Nation (Part 2)
"Is there anything you wish for?" Elena asked. "Besides sending you to your death."
"What wish can you grant me?" Qin asked.
"I'm a witch—as long as the wish isn't too outlandish, I can usually grant it," Elena said. Even if it can't be granted now, there's always a way if she tries hard enough and uses magic.
Although magic is not omnipotent, and there are far more things that cannot be solved with magic than things that can, its convenience is undeniable.
"Why?" Qin asked.
"what why?"
Why should I help you fulfill my wish?
"Ugh, you're so annoying. If you want to know why, aren't we friends?"
"A friend?" Qin seemed to be murmuring something. After a while, she said, "Then, as a friend, if it's possible, if you know where I'm buried, could you send me a spider lily?"
What kind of wish is this?
Putting aside how I would know where you're buried, this wish is just too hard to accept. Elena gave up the idea of asking further. Forget it, let him figure out his own wishes.
The two arrived in the inner country.
There were no guards at the gates of the inner city, and the two of them walked right in.
The moment she entered the city gate, Elena felt as if she had entered another world. The once shabby alley had transformed into a wide street, lined with all sorts of shops.
Simply put, it means they came out of the slums.
Perfect timing, I'll buy a croissant. There aren't any proper bakeries around.
"Excuse me, croissants..." Elena walked up to a bread stall.
"Huff—Huff—"
Hey, what's wrong with you?
The bread stall owner was an unusually obese man; Elena thought he looked like a pig—no, even a pig seemed slimmer than him. But since she was there to buy bread, not to criticize, she figured she should refrain from being too sarcastic.
But what do you mean by vomiting when you see me?
How much are the croissants?
"Huff—Huff—"
"bread……"
"Huff—Huff—"
Forget it, I don't want it. I feel like the bread you make is absolutely terrible; I almost threw up on it. It really ruins my appetite.
As she walked out of the bread stall, Elena realized that the streets were full of people like the bread stall owner. They were all overweight, and their faces looked like they had a paste stuck to them.
"Mom—I saw a ghost!" A very obese boy clung tightly to his mother's broad legs.
It's worth mentioning that he couldn't even fully hug his mother's legs with both arms.
ghost?
Where is the ghost?
Irena looked at the boy staring at her with a terrified expression.
Am I a ghost? How rude of you.
"What an ugly woman! How could anyone let her into the inner city?" More and more people on the street began to point and whisper about Elena. "My God, seeing that face makes me want to throw up my dinner from last night."
"The man next to her was also incredibly ugly—sure enough, ugly women have terrible taste; if I were with a man like that, I'd want to die immediately—"
Please die right now!
"How ugly! Is this a demon crawled out of hell?" "God, if I am guilty, please let me die instead of subjecting me to such cruel punishment." "Hiccup—Hiccup—"
Hello——
What's going on with this kingdom?
Elena puffed out her cheeks a little angrily. No one would be in a good mood if someone said they were ugly, so she just ignored it.
Oh, that's how it is with the piano.
Hearing such insults, and knowing that many in the crowd were pointing fingers at Qin, all Qin got in return was a yawn.
"It stinks—stinky man, stay away from me!" "Ugly woman and wicked man, get out of here and lock yourselves up—don't disgust our eyes!" "Get out! Get out!"
Huhu——
Elena resisted the urge to turn all these people into frogs without using her wand, but it was undeniable that she rarely lost her composure like this in her life.
Turning everyone on the street into frogs is a criminal act, and we can't do that. Otherwise, it'll get out of hand if it blows up. There are still some basic boundaries.
But she was surrounded by a crowd. How could she get out?
Elena was contemplating whether to summon her broom and fly away when she felt herself being swept up in a hug. In a flash, she found herself being carried in a princess carry, while being moved at a rapid pace.
Hey hey?
Hey hey hey hey?
Elena was put down before she could even figure out what was going on.
After finishing all this, Qin yawned nonchalantly, as if nothing had happened.
Just now, he picked up Elena and leaped up to stomp on the head of a bald old man. Because his lower body was really solid, it was child's play for Jean to not fall off.
Those human heads served as natural steps for Qin to step on.
Their sturdy builds made them incredibly agile, even when carrying Elena's zither.
In just a few seconds, he stepped out of the crowd and led Elena into an alley on another street.
It took Elena a while to recover. She looked at Qin with some dissatisfaction: "Couldn't you have told me beforehand?"
It's embarrassing to be suddenly picked up by someone.
It's truly shameful—Qin probably has no idea what this means, and it's no wonder that blockhead understands these things.
"I saw you were about to faint from anger, so I took it upon myself to make the decision," Qin explained.
"It's not that exaggerated."
"Your face is red too."
Is it because you're angry?
Perhaps that factor does play a part—but the main reason is—oh well, why would I be an idiot arguing with this blockhead? Oh well, I'll consider that his intentions were good.
"Next time for sure," Qin added.
Putting everything else aside, Elaina still felt a great sense of satisfaction at having all of these people trampled on the head—a bunch of ugly freaks who couldn't distinguish between beauty and ugliness. Whether Qin meant it or not, Elaina was very satisfied with this way of punishing people who had no eyes.
She finally understood why the magician who had asked her to go into the inner country to buy books hadn't come in herself.
Damn it—I miscalculated.
All she wanted to do now was finish buying the books and get out of town.
"Let's go buy books." Elena had mostly calmed down by now.
The two entered the bookstore, and to prevent the owner from being unable to buy books due to vomiting, Elena thoughtfully put masks on herself and Qin.
"You two are really not in ideal shape," the bookstore owner said as they checked out.
You have absolutely no right to say that to me.
Fortunately, Elena has basically gotten used to it.
"And your taste is terrible, buying this kind of bookmark," the bookstore owner continued.
"Then why are you still putting it out to sell?" Elena questioned.
Um... silence is the bookstore tonight.
In the end, Elena killed the game.
Once outside the country, Elena angrily removed her mask and glanced around to see the young mage smiling at her.
"Well, did you get the book?" the magician asked with a smile.
“Of course—I keep my word,” Elena said through gritted teeth.
Why didn't this guy explain the situation sooner? She definitely knew—but if she had told me, I probably wouldn't have gone in.
"In exchange, I'll tell you about this kingdom." The mage didn't mind the way Elena looked at her; although it was a bit fierce, it was still kind of cute against her face.
She took the book from Elena's hand and then said slowly, "As you can see, this is a country of bullying and ugliness."
“Oh? What kind of ugliness?” Elena asked.
"Well, what they consider ugly is what we call beautiful. Legend has it that there was a fat princess in this kingdom who begged a traveling witch to grant her beauty," the magician said. "But the witch refused."
"uh-huh."
"Then the princess flew into a rage and banished all those she considered ugly from the inner city, forbidding them from entering," the magician continued. "Thus, the inner and outer kingdoms were formed. Do I need to explain further?"
“No need—” Elena waved her hand.
"That's good. I'll start reading now. It's a pity this book is only available domestically and they're hesitant to sell it abroad. I'm so grateful to Miss Witch." This statement sounded a bit sarcastic.
Hahaha...
Irene seemed completely unconcerned as she pulled up her violin sleeve and quickly left.
It's alright, she's already left "pretty" spider bookmarks on every few pages of her book, and I'm sure this magician lady will be touched by the little surprise she's left behind.
"Ah—" came the scream from behind.
Look, they're so moved they're screaming and crying—you're welcome, you're welcome.
Let me thank you with respect for my kind heart.
