"Da" "Da" "Da"

A faint sound of footsteps came from not far from the garden.

Tu Mi ignored her, still leaning against the bench, eyes closed, enjoying nature.

Yue Shuiying emerged from the banquet, disappearing completely into the darkness.

The sound of footsteps came from far to near.

Using the moonlight, Yue Shuiying approached the roses. After taking a few steps forward, he saw a person sitting on a bench surrounded by roses. Yue Shuiying was about to leave; he wanted some peace and quiet. What had happened today was terrible for him!

Just as Yue Shuiying was about to look away, she paused. Tu Mi? What's he doing here?

Thinking this, Yue Shuiying's feet unconsciously moved towards Tu Mi. The closer he got, the clearer he could see Tu Mi's current state.

Surrounded by roses, Tu Mi's face was slightly flushed, her lips were red and glistening, and her eyes were closed, but her trembling eyelashes showed that she was not asleep. Her curly hair was somewhat messy on her head, and she looked disheveled, like a bullied rose boy.

"Tumi."

Yue Shuiying called out softly, but her eyes were fixed on Tu Mi's lips and slightly flushed cheeks.

Tu Mi felt as if someone was calling him. He opened his eyes slightly and saw a person standing in front of him. Tu Mi had a strange feeling in his mind, as if the trees and flowers were moving.

He was a little slow to react, his gaze fixed on Yue Shuiying for a while before he finally said, "Yue Shuiying."

Yue Shuiying carefully observed Tu Mi's expression, and after glancing at the wine cup beside her, guessed that Tu Mi was drunk.

For a moment, Yue Shuiying wanted to laugh. No wonder... no wonder Tu Mi refused to drink alcohol at Heaven and Earth yesterday. So that's why.

After saying a few words, Tu Mi slowly closed her eyes again, ignoring Yue Shuiying.

Yue Shuiying moved closer to Tu Mi, wanting to sit down next to her.

Tu Mi sensed Yue Shuiying's movement and shifted her body slightly to the side, making room for Yue Shuiying.

The two sat quietly on a bench, the night breeze occasionally rustling the roses beside them and the leaves in front of them.

Yue Shuiying silently gazed at Tu Mi's profile. Actually, he was originally looking at Mingyue, but for some reason, he turned his gaze to Tu Mi.

"Tumi..."

Seeing that Tu Mi did not respond, Yue Shuiying called softly again, "Tu Mi..."

Tu Mi was a little annoyed by Yue Shuiying's calling, and lazily and weakly hummed in response.

"Tumi..."

"Um..........."

"Tumi......"

Tu Mi opened her eyes, opened her mouth and uttered a few words indifferently, "Nonsense."

Unexpectedly, Yue Shuiying suddenly broke into a smile, followed by her unrestrained laughter.

Tu Mi glanced at Yue Shuiying indifferently, and thought, "Hey, another one's gone mad."

What Tu Mi didn't know was that at this moment, his eyes were misty and watery, and his face was flushed. Looking at people like that was practically an invitation.

Yue Shuiying smiled, her eyes fixed aggressively on Tu Mi. Before Tu Mi could react, she looked away, her voice low and menacing, "Tu Mi, am I really that bad?"

Tu Mi looked at the bright moon in the sky, unwilling and unable to answer Yue Shuiying's question.

Yue Shuiying turned her head to look at Tu Mi, and said bitterly, "Someone like me... has never been expected of anything since birth, I have no value..."

Instead of comforting Yue Shuiying, Tu Mi asked in return, "Do you really think so?"

Yue Shuiying paused for a moment, then nodded. Although he had revealed his wounds to Tu Mi in order to gain her affection, he truly believed that he was a person of no value.

Tu Mi looked at Yue Shuiying, and just when Yue Shuiying thought Tu Mi was going to comfort him, Tu Mi curled her lips and uttered cold words, "This is your business."

If a person believes they have no value, that they are a useless person, then no amount of comfort or encouragement from others will be of any use. Everything in this world has its value, its advantages and disadvantages. A person who denies even themselves... Tu Mi smiled. He was just an ordinary person and could not provide Yue Shuiying with spiritual sustenance.

In Tu Mi's view, "redemption" is about breaking free from one's own shackles, rather than the meager words of comfort offered by others.

Yue Shuiying looked intently at Tu Mi, "You're the first person to say this to me. Aren't you going to comfort me?"

Seeing that Tu Mi was ignoring her, Yue Shuiying could only settle for second best, "Then can you tell me what kind of person you think I am?"

Tu Mi glanced at Yue Shuiying and saw that Yue Shuiying was no longer as fragile as before, but calmly asked him. Then she slowly said, "The first time I saw you, a word popped into my mind: moon in the water."

As she spoke, Tu Mi's gaze shifted to the surface of the lake, where a crescent moon happened to be visible.

In the darkness, beneath the roses, beside Tu Mi, Yue Shuiying's eyes gleamed slightly, and Tu Mi actually felt this way.

However, Tu Mi's next words shattered Yue Shuiying's illusion.

"But you are not a flower in a mirror, you are just a phantom shrouded in the bright moon, a substitute for the moon in the monkey trying to catch it."

The moonlit shadows shrouded in darkness, her hands involuntarily clenching, her eyes clouded. "Do you feel the same way, my rose-like boy?"

In truth, Yue Shuiying didn't care what others thought of her. The opinions of complete strangers were utterly meaningless, like a pile of shit. But for some reason, Yue Shuiying wanted to hear Tu Mi's opinion of her. She really wanted to... really wanted to...

Tu Mi continued, "After spending time with you, I discovered that although you were trapped in a swamp, you were unwilling to give up. You have great resilience, like weeds in a barren land. Once you sprout, you will..."

Tu Mi paused for a moment, then said, "Growing taller and wider without regard for anything else."

After speaking, Tu Mi slowly leaned closer to Yue Shuiying and whispered in her ear, "What did Yue Wuque promise you?"

Yue Shuiying's pupils dilated, her breath caught in her throat, "Tu... how could Tu Mi know?!"

Tu Mi slowly moved away from Yue Shuiying, watching her incredulous expression with admiration.
