I got up and walked towards the door, with Jiang Yuwei following closely behind.

Li Ningsu was seen being supported by two tall, burly men standing at the door. The men were dressed in suits and ties, yet they exuded an air of authority and power.

As soon as she saw me, Li Ningsu's eyes lit up. "Ye Qiu, quickly make them let me go! They've twisted my arm so badly it's almost broken!"

I gave a helpless, bitter smile. How could I possibly get involved in this situation? I didn't even know who these two people were. Li Ningsu continued to wail, drawing everyone's attention.

Jiang Yuwei's clear voice rang out from behind, "Let her go!"

As she spoke, she turned to me and said, "Brother-in-law, don't you agree?"

Out of politeness, I invited her to have breakfast with me: "Have you had breakfast yet? Want to grab something to eat together?"

Li Ningsu immediately agreed, as if she were starving. But I knew she must have had another purpose for coming so early.

The atmosphere was slightly awkward during breakfast.

Jiang Yuwei's cooking skills were indeed remarkable; a few simple home-style dishes were all beautifully presented and delicious. She casually put food into my bowl, but I felt a little uncomfortable, after all, we were no longer husband and wife.
