Jiang Yuwei suddenly reached out and grabbed the back of my neck, her eyes as cold as two knives, staring straight at me, her voice chilling to the bone.

"You're the one who's sick. You want a divorce but you're deliberately provoking me. You can't just flirt with a woman like that. Don't you even have that basic common sense?"

Her warm breath brushed against my face. I looked at her beautiful face, which was now tense, and thought to myself, "What did I do to provoke you? You were the one who started the insults. I was just responding politely."

"And what did I say that offended you?" I muttered to myself.

In my past life, aside from the fact that I refused to divorce her and angered her, she basically never argued with me, let alone picked a fight. All I said was that she "couldn't have me," how could that be considered provocation?

Her face was expressionless, but her voice grew colder and colder, each word seeming to be squeezed out from between her teeth. "You've suddenly become a different person. Not only do you insist on a divorce, but you've also been spreading rumors that I can't have children. Now you're saying I can't have you. Are you trying to drive me to the brink of despair?"

Her gaze was so intense it sent chills down my spine.

Although I knew she wouldn't do anything to me, my heart still raced. I struggled to get up, but she held me firmly in the office chair, preventing me from moving.

We were staring at each other so closely that she could kiss me if she just lowered her head slightly, which made me feel very uncomfortable, and I tried my best to back away.

"I just felt that since we're getting a divorce soon, you don't need to care about my figure anymore, so I said that. I didn't really mean you can't have me..." I regretted it as soon as I finished speaking. How did this explanation get more and more confusing!

Jiang Yuwei sneered, her hand slowly sliding from my shoulder to my waist, and a jolt of electricity instantly ran through my body.

"So lonely and empty at such a young age? Ye Qiu, I really underestimated you."

I was incredibly frustrated. How could I be that thirsty?! Even if we did have something in our past lives, it was she who took the initiative, okay?! I angrily shook off her hand, not wanting to explain anymore.

"Yes, I'm lonely! So what if I'm a married man? If you, as a married woman, can't even fulfill your obligations, then sign the divorce papers. That's your only value."

I had barely finished speaking when she tightened her grip, a dark look flashing across her face, and then yanked me away. I almost fell, but thankfully I managed to regain my balance.

I turned around and glared at her: "Jiang Yuwei!"

Her bright black eyes stared at me, devoid of anger, only coldness and mockery. "This is takeout, not food you cooked. If you don't want to talk about divorce, get out of here and don't get in my way."

I was stunned. She could tell it wasn't my cooking without even eating it? This takeout was clearly delicious! How did Jiang Yuwei manage that?

Seeing that she was about to bury herself in her work again, I felt anxious and quickly stopped her hand from clicking the mouse.

"Hey, wait a minute, this is the takeout, but I thought I should make sure you eat well. It's just that I don't have the skill to whip up a feast right away."

She didn't look up or shake me off, so I took the opportunity to press her. "Okay, I'll cook you a bowl of noodles. After you eat, we can talk about serious matters. If you don't say anything, I'll take that as a yes."

Consider it a last supper. As long as she finishes it and is willing to talk to me about divorce, it's worth it to cook her a meal.

After saying that, I rushed downstairs without waiting for her reaction, found a noodle shop, and quickly made a bowl of hot noodles and came back.

I lifted the lid, and a wonderful aroma filled the air. It looked and smelled delicious. I proudly presented it to her, saying, "Try it. This time, I really made it myself."

Jiang Yuwei glanced at the bowl of noodles, seemingly to confirm if it was her handiwork, before rolling up her sleeves and starting to eat.

Seeing her brows gradually relax, I also breathed a sigh of relief.

"How is it? Does it taste good? Feeling better now?"

Jiang Yuwei smiled slightly, but ignored me and focused on eating her fried egg.

I was already used to her coldness, so I leaned closer and asked, "Now that you're in a better mood, shouldn't we talk about the divorce?"

She suddenly laughed, but there was no warmth in her smile. "So eager to get a divorce? What were you doing yesterday?"

I made up an excuse on the spot, "Yesterday, a friend's water pipe burst, and I was busy helping out, so I didn't have time to come over."

I deliberately kept my uncle a secret, since I hadn't been in contact with my maternal grandfather's family for a long time, and Jiang Yuwei didn't even know I had such a relative.

Now that we're about to get divorced, there's no need to bring these things up anymore.

After hearing this, Jiang Yuwei put down her chopsticks and bowl, seemingly believing what I said, but casually said, "We won't divorce."

When I heard that, my eyes widened. "Jiang Yuwei, how can you go back on your word? You said we'd talk after dinner!"

She said slowly, "I mean, you need to be full to be in the mood to talk. We just talked, but I didn't agree to the result. I only agreed to the process of talking, not the outcome."

I panicked, "But you promised that!"

"I gave you a chance yesterday, but you didn't seize it. Can you blame me for that?"

I slammed my hand on the table in anger. "I already explained that I had something to do yesterday. I'm right here now, and you're right here too. Let's go get the paperwork done right now. I promise I won't stand you up again!"

Jiang Yuwei gave me a cold look and repeated, "I said, we're not getting a divorce."

I must endure it! For the sake of those two million, I cannot provoke her now.

I clenched my fists, trying to calm myself down. "So when are you finally willing to divorce me?"

Jiang Yuwei replied casually, "It depends on my mood."

Upon hearing this, I flew into a rage. Seeing her nonchalant attitude, I couldn't help but curse her out.

"Jiang Yuwei! Were you playing me from the very beginning? You're a fucking bastard!"

"Don't you like Chen Yiran? You won't divorce me because you want him to continue being your mistress? How can you be so despicable? Do you have any conscience?!"
