After the divorce, the aloof female CEO was filled with regret.

Chapter 100: I Just Don't Want a Divorce

I didn't notice the noise around me, busy peeling an apple, but the peel kept breaking off. Clearly, the fruit knife was too dull, and my skills were lacking. Just as I was getting frustrated, a fair and slender hand suddenly reached out, snatched the apple, and took the unreliable fruit knife, expertly continuing to peel.

I was taken aback and glanced sideways at Jiang Yuwei beside me. The apple in her hand seemed to have come alive; the peel was still intact. I couldn't help but purse my lips, thinking to myself that this woman had never been this attentive to me before. Why did she start putting on such an act in front of my uncle? She was truly unpredictable.

My uncle glanced at me, then turned to look at Jiang Yuwei, and suddenly asked as if deliberately picking a fight, "Ye Qiu, isn't Mengmeng going to be on a TV show? Do you know about this?"

Jiang Yuwei's face remained expressionless, while I nodded and turned my gaze to my uncle.

"Yes, I know. She told me that you had something to do and asked me to come over and check on you. Uncle, is someone looking for you urgently?"

Gu Mengmeng sent me a message today, saying that someone keeps calling my uncle, and he seems both agitated and helpless, apparently it's still about the house. I'm guessing my uncle probably owes money, mortgaged the house, and can't pay it back, so he's being chased by creditors.

The more I thought about it, the more reliable my guess seemed. My uncle had been very depressed lately, probably because of money.

Uncle waved his hand, "What could be wrong with me? It's just that this broken heart of mine is the most troublesome thing. As for you, Mengmeng is going to participate in the show. As a friend, you should go and cheer her on, let her know that you are always by her side. She will definitely be very happy."

"What time is her flight? You should go see her off, otherwise you won't see her for a while," the uncle added.

I answered honestly, "She's already gone."

As soon as I finished speaking, my uncle's face darkened slightly. At that moment, a perfectly peeled apple was handed to me. It was Jiang Yuwei who handed it to me. The corners of her mouth were slightly upturned, as if she was happy about something.

"Eat," she said simply.

I paused for a moment, then said "Oh," and took the apple from her hand. I wanted to give it to my uncle, but he said he had just eaten and wasn't hungry, so I took a bite myself and said casually, "But it's okay. When I have time, Yikang and I will go see her. She only has a few friends with her, and we will definitely go to support her. She also said that if she wins the championship this time, she wants me to promise her something."

The uncle's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?"

Jiang Yuwei's dark eyes were also fixed on me...

I shook my head and refused: "I don't know. She won't tell me until we're on that highest stage, but I've already promised her."

Upon hearing this, her uncle immediately smiled and said, "I believe she will win the championship. People with a wish in their hearts will work twice as hard."

I wholeheartedly agreed and nodded vigorously: "Yes!"

The faint smile on Jiang Yuwei's lips vanished instantly, her lips pursed slightly, and her eyes turned icy cold.

My uncle didn't seem to be in any major trouble. When I asked him about last night, he hesitated and gave vague answers. I guessed he was afraid of losing face, so I didn't ask any more questions and rushed home to deal with my mother's belongings.

Jiang Yuwei walked me home. She walked beside me, and at first, we were both silent. That was normal; usually, I was the one who started the conversation, the one who kept rambling on. Although Jiang Yuwei had a sharp tongue, she was never one to initiate much conversation.

Now that I'm silent, the atmosphere naturally turns cold.

Just as I reached the entrance to the lobby on the first floor, my arm suddenly felt heavy; someone had grabbed it. I turned my head and Jiang Yuwei's stunningly beautiful face immediately came into view, followed by her clear and melodious voice.

"Ye Qiu, stay away from Gu Mengmeng. She has no good intentions towards you."

If someone else had said this, I could explain it away: Gu Mengmeng has someone in her heart.

But that's what Jiang Yuwei said. I really wanted to roll my eyes, shake off her hand, and say speechlessly, "You see, nobody has good intentions, Jiang Yuwei. I sincerely suggest you make an appointment with a psychiatrist to see if you have paranoia."

Her voice instantly turned cold: "I'm not joking."

I scoffed, "I wasn't joking."

Jiang Yuwei looked at me with a half-smile: "Have you forgotten that you have feelings for her? Her ill intentions towards you are actually more to your liking, aren't they?"

I clicked my tongue, wondering why she kept harping on Gu Mengmeng, and I couldn't be bothered to argue with her.

"Good to know. Stop talking bad about Gu Mengmeng, it annoys me."

Jiang Yuwei looked up at me, her eyes swirling with unspoken tension. I thought she was going to argue with me, but unexpectedly she suddenly changed the subject.

"Ye Qiu, today is the second day."

I was stunned for a second before I understood what she meant.

She gave me three days to obediently return to her side, and now it's the second day.

I stared into her dark eyes, a hint of mockery in my voice, and said, "You really expect me to obediently go back? Are you out of your mind or what? Why are we, who are determined to leave, still bothering each other?"

She spoke calmly, but her words were barbed, like needles.

“Xu Yikang’s house isn’t very big to begin with. If you put your things in there, he’ll have to cut back on his things. I heard he can have friends, but he doesn’t like sharing a place. If you stay there, it will only annoy him.”

My heart skipped a beat, and I gritted my teeth.

Jiang Yuwei actually found out everything about Yi Kang.

That's right, Yikang seems quite boisterous, but he actually prefers peace and quiet. I didn't plan to live with him long-term; I just had a lot of things to do that kept me from doing it. I'll move out after the birthday party.

“But I can’t move back, so save your breath. And,” I squinted at her, my face dark, “don’t go see my uncle yourself. He’s my uncle. Just tell me about the transfer procedures and stuff. You don’t need to worry about it.”

Jiang Yuwei squinted at me and casually reminded me, "Before we divorced, he was also my uncle."

“Jiang Yuwei, I’m telling you one last time, we’re not divorced yet, but it’ll be in the next few days. Don’t even think about interfering in my family affairs. You forced me to give you the professor’s contact information, that’s not a reason for you to meddle in my life,” I snapped, glaring at her impatiently. “Besides, what are you trying to do, meddling in everything and investigating everything?”

Cha Yikang is investigating my private life, forcing me to move out of his house, using my uncle's illness to pressure me, and now he's even trying to control me through my uncle's illness.

What does she want to do? Does she want to be my master?

She pursed her lips, and after a long pause, said coldly, "I just don't want a divorce. Can't you see how obvious it is?"

WTF?

I was so angry I laughed.

I glared at her and asked, "Why? What's your reason for not wanting a divorce?"

Jiang Yuwei stared at me, her eyes deep: "What do you think?"
