Xu Xinran stood quietly at the door, not going in to disturb Zhou Yu.

It wasn't until Zhou Yu finished his call and looked up that he noticed Xu Xinran standing at the door, and the smile on his face slowly faded.

"After dinner, I'll take you somewhere."

Xu Xinran spoke, her voice gentle yet carrying an undeniable air of authority.

"Row."

Zhou Yu responded without refusing, because he knew that even if he said no, this woman would find a way to make him go.

The dishes on the table were all his favorites, but he didn't want to eat a single bite.

Upon seeing these, his mind was filled with unpleasant experiences from his past life. He casually ate a few bites and then put down his chopsticks.

"Let's go, where to?"

Xu Xinran didn't seem to be in a hurry, as if she was used to his indifference. She glanced at him, then raised her red lips slightly, "Eat a couple more bites, look how thin you are."

"I'm full," Zhou Yu replied curtly.

"What, do I have to feed you?" Xu Xinran said half-jokingly, but her eyes were serious.

Zhou Yu's eyes flickered, he silently gritted his teeth, ate a few more bites, wiped his mouth after finishing, and looked at Xu Xinran.

"Can you go?"

Xu Xinran nodded in satisfaction, then walked towards Zhou Yu with a smile, reaching out to take his hand. Her meaning was all too clear: she wanted to hold his hand.

Zhou Yu did not resist and let her lead him out the door and into the car.

The car drove further and further off the road, and the sky grew darker and darker.

"Hey, where are you taking me? This place is the middle of nowhere," Zhou Yu finally couldn't help but ask.

Xu Xinran laughed: "Don't be afraid, would I sell you? You'll see when we get there."

The car finally stopped in a large open space. It was quiet all around, and there wasn't a soul in sight. Zhou Yu wondered to himself: What exactly is this woman up to?

Xu Xinran opened the sunroof and pointed to the sky: "Look up there."

When Zhou Yu looked up, he saw a dazzling starry sky in the summer night, a sight so beautiful it was breathtaking.

"Is it beautiful?" Xu Xinran's eyes were full of anticipation.

He paused for a moment, then said, "It's alright, quite bright."

"Of course, how could the place I chose be bad?" Xu Xinran knew he was pretending not to care, but she didn't call him out on it.

Zhou Yu didn't reply. He knew in his heart that this woman wouldn't have brought him here to see the stars for no reason. Sure enough, not long after, a shooting star streaked across the sky.

"Do you like it?" Xu Xinran asked, glancing at him with her eyes.

"It's just a shooting star, nothing special."

He chuckled, his tone tinged with disdain, but the glint in his eyes betrayed him.

Upon hearing this, Xu Xinran's lips curled into a playful smile; she could see through every subtle expression on the man's face.

"Oh? Then tell me, what would be considered rare?" She pressed on, unwilling to miss any opportunity to provoke him.

The meteor shower began to fall one after another, and the two were slowly engulfed in this dazzling spectacle.

Zhou Yu stared blankly, his thoughts drifting back to his past life. Back then, he would always be alone in his empty home, waiting for Xu Xinran to return. Later, loneliness became a habit, and he fell in love with looking at the stars, as if he could find a sliver of solace in the vast starry sky.

He didn't know how Xu Xinran knew about his hobby, but now he just felt that this woman had intervened too deeply in his life, making him feel suffocated.

It was as if there was always an invisible force binding him, preventing him from breaking free.

"Xu Xinran, what exactly do you want?" Zhou Yu finally couldn't hold back and roared out.

He was fed up with this life of being arranged for him, fed up with her control and restraint.

Xu Xinran wasn't angry. Instead, she turned her head and glanced at him, her eyes seemingly holding a thousand unspoken words.

"Zhou Yu, I know what you want. I can give it to you!"

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yu's eyes lit up for a moment, but quickly dimmed again.

He knew Xu Xinran too well; this woman never did anything that didn't benefit her. Now that she was willing to agree, she must have her own plans.

"Speak, what are your conditions?" he asked coldly, already prepared for the worst.

Xu Xinran looked at him, a hint of tenderness flashing in her eyes, but her voice remained cold.

"Want freedom? It's simple, just get married to me right now!"
