Figure Skating: Waltz on Ice

Du Liangchen used a fork to pick up a piece of apple and handed it to him: "Here, have a taste, it's quite sweet."

Mei Jing smiled, took the bag, and took a bite.

Seeing that he was still standing, Du Liangchen said, "Please sit down, don't be shy."

“Okay.” Mei Jing sat down on the edge of the bed.

Du Liangchen took out the ointment from the drawer, rolled up his trouser leg to reveal his fair and slender calves, but his knees were covered in bruises.

Mei Jing glanced at him casually, noticed the injury on his knee, and looked at him with surprise and heartache.

"How did your knee get so badly injured?"

Du Liangchen wiped away the dust with a wet wipe: "I bumped into it during training, it'll be fine in a couple of days."

Mei Jing approached and touched his knee, causing Du Liangchen to gasp in pain.

He frowned slightly: "Even in this state, you still go to the dance studio? Are you crazy?"

Unexpectedly, Du Liangchen didn't seem to care and calmly said, "It's nothing, it just looks scary, but no bones are broken."

Mei Jingqi suddenly picked him up from the chair, startling him so much that his eyes widened and he tightly hugged Mei Jingqi's neck.

"What are you doing? You scared me! Put me down."

Mei Jing put him on the bed, and Du Liangchen awkwardly backed away, but Mei Jing grabbed his ankle: "Don't move, let me see."

Mei Jing looked at his knee seriously, then took the medicine and sprayed it on it. Du Liangchen pulled his leg back, but Mei Jing pressed it down and said angrily, "Don't move. Now you know it hurts. If you don't want to participate in the competition anymore, then keep hurting your knee."

"If I leave the competition, you'll have one less competitor and get one step closer to a medal. Wouldn't that be better?"

Mei Jing thought about how his fans were attacking him online and how they were cyberbullying him and blocking his way.

"You're exaggerating."

Mei Jing looked at him seriously. They had finally made up and didn't want to create a rift because of the fans.

"We've never been about giving way to each other; it's all about strength. If we were to give way, what would be the point of the competition? We could just decide it outright."

He smiled and looked up at Mei Jing, who had a righteous expression. His eyes were bright: "Yes, but your fans look like they want to eat me alive. They're standing up for you. I'm glad it didn't affect you."

Mei Jing tilted her head and looked him up and down with great interest, a sly smile in her eyes.

"I should be saying that to you. You're the one being attacked, not me."

Seeing that the medicine had been absorbed, Mei Jing took the ointment, applied it to the bruised area with her fingertip.

Du Liangchen felt itchy and instinctively backed away, saying, "I'll do it myself."

Mei Jing knew that Du Liangchen's legs were sensitive, as she had noticed when she applied the hot compress: "I already have ointment on my hands, and I'll be washing them anyway, so why bother getting them dirty? I'll do it myself. I know you're not feeling well, so I'll be careful. Just bear with it for now."

Du Liangchen hated trouble the most, so he no longer refused Mei Jing's offer to apply the medicine. He shifted his attention, thinking about where the two of them had left off.

After remembering it, she shrugged indifferently and pouted, saying defiantly, "Over the years, I've gotten used to it. If all the comments about me online were positive that day, I might think they were being sarcastic."

Mei Jing paused in applying the medicine: "You're fine, they're the ones who are blind."

Du Liangchen sighed and said, "Thank you, but if your fans heard you say that, wouldn't they be heartbroken?"

Mei Jing screwed the cap back on and placed the medicine on the bedside table: "They won't know if you don't tell them, and even if they do, it doesn't matter."

Du Liangchen scoffed, "Look at you, so cocky."
