Figure Skating: Waltz on Ice

Du Liangchen bought a high-speed rail ticket to return to his unit. This time, he didn't let his grandparents see him off; instead, he took the bus back by himself. Du Langxing picked him up at the other station.

Du Liangchen has already requested leave from the school and will be returning to the team today.

Grandma got up early to cook for him. It was a four-hour drive, and she needed to prepare some food for him along the way.

Then the family took him to the station and watched Du Liangchen enter the station before leaving.

No one recognized him on the street, which made him feel safe. He ate something and took pictures of the scenery. Four hours passed quickly.

Carrying my luggage, I followed the crowd toward the exit. Outside, I saw Dulangxing, who had been waiting for who knows how long.

"Uncle, I'm here!"

Upon hearing Du Liangchen's voice, Du Langxing stepped forward and took his luggage.

"Are you tired? Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something before you go back?"

Du Langxing greeted him with a barrage of concern as soon as he came up.

Du Liangchen smiled and shook his head: "I'm not hungry. Grandma brought me lots of delicious food, and I kept eating on the way. I am a little tired, though. Sitting for four hours with no one to talk to was quite tiring."

The two walked outside, and Du Langxing said, "Let's go back to the team. I was thinking that you would have to watch your diet for a long time after you go back, so I let you indulge one last time. It seems that's not necessary."

After taking a taxi back to the team and unpacking my luggage, I saw Mei Jing push the door open and come in.

Seeing Du Liangchen return, she said happily, "Xiao Chen, you're back! I thought you weren't coming back today."

"Mei Jing, I just brought you a gift, here you go."

Du Liangchen took a box out of his suitcase and handed it to him.

Mei Jing happily took the box: "Then I'll open it!"

Du Liangchen said expectantly, "Open it and see if you like it?"

Inside the box is a DIY cup. The outside is decorated with plum blossoms. When you take it out, you can see a plum blossom inside the cup. You can see it every time you drink water.

Mei Jing: "It looks so good! Xiao Chen, did you make this yourself?"

Du Liangchen took out the cup he had made for himself and showed it to him: "The school has a pottery club. I made this myself. Do you like it?"

Mei Jing looked at him shyly: "Of course, you're very talented. But will you be angry that I didn't bring you a gift?"

Du Liangchen didn't understand why he thought that way, so he explained, "Why should I be angry? Bringing a gift is my own business. It's because I want to give you a gift and I'm happy. It's not about exchanging gifts with you."

"I understand. I really like your gift. Thank you, Xiaochen."

"Why are you being so polite? You don't want me to be distant, yet you're being so polite to me. How can you be so hypocritical?"

Mei Jing watched Du Liangchen hang up his clothes and said, "Then let me help you pack your luggage."

Du Liangchen stepped aside: "Of course I'm willing to help if someone offers."

The two chatted about the fun things that happened during their holidays, and then went to the cafeteria for a meal together.

When Du Liangchen and Mei Jing arrived at the cafeteria, they felt their chatter suddenly go silent. Although they were eating, Du Liangchen felt that they were being spied on.

The two got their food and found an empty table to sit down.

Mei Jing glanced at Du Liangchen's plate: "Huh? Don't you love shrimp? Why didn't you order this dish?"

Du Liangchen took a bite of rice and said, "I saw it. He really likes to eat shrimp, but he didn't bother because he thought peeling the shrimp shells was too much trouble."

Hearing his reply, Mei Jing shook her head helplessly: "You're still so lazy, you like to eat but you hate the hassle."
