Figure Skating: Waltz on Ice

When he got home and saw the familiar yet unfamiliar surroundings, before he could even feel sad, his two older brothers surrounded him, sharing their new toy cars, dinosaurs, Ultraman figures, and more. His aunt and uncle were also there to play with him. The family chatted and laughed until evening fell.

He has been learning music, chess, calligraphy, and painting with his grandparents, and he has also enrolled in a dance class. He has loved dancing since he was Yi Shitang, and he still loves it now. However, he always feels a little empty inside.

It wasn't until he went to watch his uncle's competition that he seemed to know what the empty space was—it was ice skating. Du Liangchen liked ice skating, just like Yi Shitang liked dancing.

So after the competition, my uncle told my grandparents that he wanted to continue skating, but he was ruthlessly rejected.

However, Du Liangchen did not give up. He studied figure skating knowledge and practiced his flexibility every day.

After a year of hard work, his family finally agreed to let him continue learning figure skating.

Today, Grandpa took Du Liangchen to the ice rink where he used to practice. This was Du Liangchen's first time ice skating since he came into this world.

"Teacher Du, it's been a long time! How have you been?"

Coach Li greeted Grandpa and Du Liangchen warmly when he saw them.

"Xiao Chen is here too. How's your recovery going?"

"Professor Li, Xiao Chen is recovering very well, and he's back to ice skating again," Grandpa said warmly.

Grandpa Du patted Du Liangchen's head affectionately: "To be honest, we don't agree with him going down this path, but the child likes it, so as parents, we can only support him. We'll have to trouble Coach Li to take care of him in the future."

After changing into his skates, Du Liangchen followed Coach Li's instructions to get used to walking on the ice skates on land before getting on the ice. At first, Du Liangchen was very nervous, but when he stood on the ice, his nervousness calmed down and he couldn't help but skate forward. After skating around the outer edge of the ice rink twice and getting used to it, he skated towards the middle and his speed increased a lot.

Du Liangchen skated according to the way he remembered Xiao Chen, doing a split, skating backwards, and after getting used to it, he did a squat turn and a full jump, which he did successfully.

Coach Li and Du's grandfather, who were watching Du Liangchen from the sidelines, were greatly impressed. After having enough fun, Du Liangchen skated over to his grandfather.

"Xiao Chen, have you really not been on the ice for a year? You've adapted so quickly." Coach Li asked Xiao Chen incredulously.
