Chapter 290 Feeding Mei Jing

Mei Jing sat in the chair and held onto Du Liangchen tightly. Du Liangchen tugged at him but he still wouldn't let go. Seeing how uncomfortable he looked, he decided to let him hold him.

"Eat your food first, then take your medicine, okay?"

"My throat hurts, I don't want to eat."

Du Liangchen patted his back gently, and with his other hand picked up the chopsticks he had just put down, picked up a small steamed bun, and held it to his mouth. "I'll feed you. Don't eat too much. How about two buns?"

Mei Jing squinted and opened his mouth to eat. Du Liangchen's tightly furrowed brows relaxed when he saw him eating. He scooped up a spoonful of the porridge he hadn't touched and held it to Mei Jing's lips. "Here, have some porridge. Eating steamed buns dry is hard on your throat. A sip of porridge will make it easier to swallow."

Mei Jing closed her eyes, obediently opened her mouth and ate the spoonful of thick porridge, smacking her lips and frowning in dissatisfaction.

"Ugh, you're lying~ This isn't porridge, it's just dry rice!"

Du Liangchen said in surprise, "Ah! Really? Let me try it... It's alright. This is the kind of porridge you usually make me drink. Didn't you say that porridge like this is the most economical?"

Mei Jing looked up and saw Du Liangchen tilting his head and raising an eyebrow at him. Then, feeling guilty, he lowered his head and quietly ate his food.

Mei Jing usually buys two portions of food and then pours out the soup in order to get Du Liangchen to eat more, knowing that he won't waste food. She never expected that one day she would end up shooting herself in the foot.

"I was wrong, but I really just wanted you to eat more!"

"Since you know you were wrong, then drink this bowl of porridge, and I'll forgive you."

"You did this on purpose!!"

"Do you want to eat it, hmm?"

Mei Jing looked at him pitifully, staring at the bowl of porridge with a resentful expression, and said timidly, "Eat, I'll eat, okay?"

The people around them seemed busy with their phones, but they were actually all listening intently to what the two of them were saying!

I never imagined they'd have to use such wits and strategy even when eating a meal, resorting to Sun Tzu's Art of War! It's just too outrageous! I forced a smile and continued watching the drama unfold.

Under Du Liangchen's watchful eye, Mei Jing ate two steamed buns and a bowl of porridge, and then obediently took her medicine.

Lan Ruoyu bought cold medicine, fever reducer, and sore throat medicine, and she had to take each medicine ten minutes apart.

Mei Jing lay on the sofa, feeling uncomfortable, with his head resting on Du Liangchen's lap and his eyes closed.

Wang Keran walked over to Du Liangchen and said, "The car is waiting downstairs. Xiaochen, we should head to the station now, or we'll be late."

Du Liangchen's heart skipped a beat. "I know, sis. Wait for me for a minute."

Wang Keran glanced at Mei Jing, who had already opened her eyes, urged Du Liangchen to "hurry up," and then left.

Mei Jing turned around and buried her face in Du Liangchen's arms, saying reluctantly, "We have to part so soon, I really hate to see you go~"

"We'll see each other in a couple of days, but I'm really worried about your cold. Remember to take your medicine on time and don't worry your sister!"

"Okay~" Mei Jing said sullenly.

Du Liangchen patted his back and said gently and reluctantly, "Okay, I really have to go now, or Sister Wang will come and urge me again."

"Ugh~ Can't we stay here?"

Du Liangchen stroked his head like a puppy, patiently coaxing him, "Sweetie, I need to earn money to support you. Do you know how much trouble you caused yesterday? We not only lost our house, but I'm also drowning in debt. This is the first time. If you do this again someday, how will I cover for you? And you've lost a lot of fans because of this. Don't do this again next time."
