Figures of people moving back and forth.

"The patient is awake!" someone exclaimed with delight.

Yi Shitang couldn't hold on any longer and closed her eyes again.

When she opened her eyes again, she found herself still surrounded by white light. The beeping sound of the instruments around her brought Yi Shitang back to her senses, and she realized that she couldn't move.

"Wasn't I dead? What's going on now?" She looked around blankly. She remembered that the car she was in had been in an accident, the car was thrown a long way, the gas tank was leaking, and she heard an explosion. Thinking back, she was here.

The on-duty nurse noticed the patient was awake and immediately contacted the doctor. She then came to Yi Shitang's side and asked, "You're awake. How are you feeling? Is anything bothering you?"

Yi Shitang looked at the nurse and asked with all her might, "Am I still alive?"

His voice was soft, hoarse, and unpleasant; the nurse had to lean in close to hear what he was saying.

"Don't worry, you're still alive, you'll get better soon," the nurse said gently, trying to comfort you.

Hearing the nurse's words, he drifted off to sleep again.

"How is the patient?" The doctor came to Yi Shitang's bedside and saw that the patient was still unconscious.

"Dr. Gu, the patient just regained consciousness briefly and even spoke, asking if he was alive, but then he fell asleep again," the nurse reported to the doctor.

After examining the patient and confirming there were no problems, Dr. Gu said, "This is good. Continue to observe. Call me anytime if anything happens. Thank you for your hard work."

……

"The patient needs an IV drip, but he's still not awake?" a nurse said.

"No, it's been two days since he last woke up, but all his vital signs are normal, so I believe he'll wake up soon," another nurse said.

Yi Shitang felt someone talking incessantly in her ear, which was disturbing her sleep and was very annoying, so she opened her eyes.

"He's awake! The patient's awake! Quickly call the doctor. How are you feeling? Is anything bothering you?" the nurse, who was changing Yi Shitang's dressing, said with delight.

Yi Shitang then remembered that she had been in a car accident and was now in a hospital ward.

As he stared blankly at the nurse, the doctor came over.

"You're awake. What's your name? Do you remember it?" the doctor asked Yi Shitang after looking through her medical records.

Yi Shitang realized something was wrong. She was in the ICU, and her hands had shrunk. These couldn't possibly be her hands. A bold idea popped into her head. After all, she was a seasoned novel enthusiast in her previous life. How could someone survive a car accident and an explosion? Unless she had transmigrated.

Yi Shitang's eyes widened in shock at the idea. The doctor, thinking he was unwell, gave him a thorough examination.

"Who am I?" Yi Shitang asked the doctor, trying to calm herself down.

"You don't remember?" the doctor asked.

"I don't remember anything." She could only resort to the tricks that time travelers usually use. Yi Shitang looked at the doctor with fear and panic.

"It's alright. You injured your head. Don't think about it for now. Just rest and you'll remember eventually..." the doctor gently comforted her, afraid that the patient's emotional distress would worsen her condition.

When Yi Shitang heard the doctor say that the body had a head injury, he fell into deep thought and didn't listen to what the doctor was saying at all.

I've really time-traveled, but I don't know whose body I've in. Does that mean the people from before are dead?

Suddenly, a wave of intense pain, soreness, and resentment surged within Yi Shitang, overwhelming him...
