Figure Skating: Waltz on Ice

As Du Liangchen looked at the cake being handed to him, his eyes gradually welled up with tears.

Afraid that Mei Jing would see him like this, he turned his head away in embarrassment.

"Mmm..."

Du Liangchen was suddenly given a mouthful of cream, and caught off guard, he was so startled that he almost jumped off his chair.

"Is it tasty?"

Mei Jing looked at Du Liangchen, whose mouth was covered in cream and whose face was still fogged up, and laughed so hard she almost fell over.

Du Liangchen didn't answer whether he wanted more or not. He reached for a tissue to wipe the cream off his face with a disgusted look and said with a sullen face, "You scared me, you know?"

His cold tone carried a sense of grievance that he himself was unaware of.

Mei Jing watched as his face became increasingly smudged from wiping, trying to suppress her smile. Seeing Du Liangchen's growing coldness in his eyes, she coughed lightly twice. She reached out and pulled out two tissues, intending to wipe his face, but Du Liangchen instinctively pulled back.

Mei Jing frowned slightly. "Don't move. Look at the cream on your face. It's all over your face."

Hearing him say that, Du Liangchen didn't dodge this time. Without a mirror, he had no idea what his face looked like after wiping it. It just so happened that he was going to help.

"Why are you sitting here so late? Are you feeling unwell?"

Mei Jing gently wiped his face, watching Du Liangchen's eyes lower slightly, his long eyelashes unable to conceal the bloodshot veins in his eyes.

Du Liangchen looked at him when he heard his words, "I'm not feeling unwell, I just have some trouble sleeping."

"Insomnia?!" Mei Jing was very worried and said anxiously, "This is no small matter. How long have you been like this? Have you told Director Du?"

Du Liangchen shook his head. "It's probably because my training intensity has decreased recently, and I'm too energetic to sleep."

"Do you think I believe your nonsense?!" Mei Jing pursed her lips, crumpled the paper in her hand, and touched the corner of his eye with her fingers. "Look at the bloodshot eyes of yours, you can't hide them."

Du Liangchen felt the touch on his eyes and blinked uncomfortably.

Long eyelashes brushed against Mei Jing's fingers, causing Mei Jing to pause for a moment, a tingling sensation suddenly welling up inside her.

"No way! You must have seen wrong." Du Liangchen, caught red-handed, felt extremely guilty and subconsciously looked away from Mei Jingzhen's sincere and bright eyes.

"Don't move, your face isn't clean yet." Mei Jing turned Du Liangchen's face towards him. "If there's anything on your mind, you can tell me."

Mei Jing's voice was alluring and made people want to rely on her, which filled Du Liangchen, who had been putting on a brave face, with a sense of grievance. No one had bullied him, and he didn't know why he felt wronged.

However, his body couldn't keep up with his dreams. He had won all the awards and could have given up, but the thought of it made Du Liangchen feel lost and confused about the future.

Mei Jing wiped the cream off the other half of Du Liangchen's face, occasionally touching his mouth. Du Liangchen awkwardly pursed his lower lip, barely managing not to kick him away, but Mei Jing kept wiping, and he didn't know when it would end.

"Mei Jing, why are you standing so close?"

"And another thing, who told you to rub your face like that? Do you know it makes your face itchy?"

"If you hadn't kept such a straight face, I would have thought you were teasing me on purpose."

Looking at the face so close to his, Du Liangchen felt the atmosphere between them was too ambiguous, so she couldn't help but push him away and wipe her mouth with the back of her hand, complaining to him in dissatisfaction.
