Chapter 122 Unique Milk Tea Porridge

The two walked forward arm in arm, chatting and laughing. Mei Jing, annoyed that he had just finished running and was covered in sweat, pulled his hand away in disgust.

Knowing that Mei Jing was a germaphobe, Du Liangchen understandingly lowered his arm, but he didn't see that Mei Jing's ears had turned red and her eyes were full of disappointment.

I didn't dislike Du Liangchen's approach at all; I just felt embarrassed and shy. I never expected that Du Liangchen would think that I disliked him.

Upon arriving at the milk tea shop, Mei Jing ordered a "porridge" for Du Liangchen according to his preferences, while she ordered a regular cup for herself. Then she went to the seat that Du Liangchen had chosen.

Mei Jing placed the milk tea, piled high with toppings, in front of him, and teased, "Here comes your 'porridge'."

Du Liangchen rolled his eyes at her, and Mei Jing happily inserted the straw, took a sip, and walked forward without paying attention to the glare from the person opposite her.

Du Liangchen glanced helplessly at Mei Jing, stirred the so-called "porridge" in front of him, took a sip, and found it tasted pretty good.

Mei Jing looked at Du Liangchen and thought to herself, "How can he be so easy to coax? He's like a little child."

"Why are you looking at me?" Du Liangchen noticed Mei Jing's gaze and looked up at him.

"It's okay, you look good." Mei Jing said subconsciously, then immediately regretted it; that was too direct.

Du Liangchen's face instantly turned red. He lowered his head, pretended to concentrate on taking a sip of milk tea, and shamelessly said, "You have good taste. I've been criticized online for years, attacked in every aspect, but no one has ever criticized my appearance. That's what natural beauty is. You don't need to be envious."

Mei Jing was amused by him, and Du Liangchen felt a little embarrassed by his gaze, so he quickly changed the subject and started talking about other things.

The atmosphere between the two became more relaxed and pleasant, as if the previous awkwardness had never happened.

Du Liangchen suddenly remembered something important and said, "Oh right, Mei Jing, I'm not going to participate in any programs. I'll just stay home quietly for now. If you want to go, you can let me know if you need any choreography or anything."

Mei Jing: "What, you're going to help me?!"

Du Liangchen had just scooped up a spoonful of coconut jelly, and before he could even swallow it, he puffed out his cheeks and nodded, "Mmm."

Mei Jing thought of the hamster hiding things, a smile flashing in her eyes, and asked cheekily, "How can I help?"

Du Liangchen gave him a strange look: "What do you think? You're just spouting nonsense. But let's make it clear beforehand that choreography requires payment."

"How much?" Mei Jing asked with a smile.

“Uh…” Du Liangchen paused for a moment, he really hadn’t considered the price. “You can give me whatever you think is fair.”

"What if I don't give it to you?" Mei Jing raised an eyebrow.

“Then I’ll ask your mother for it.” Du Liangchen said quickly, then looked at Mei Jing to observe his reaction.

Sure enough, Mei Jing's expression changed. "You win."

Du Liangchen chuckled to himself, secretly planning to squeeze a good amount out of him this time.

The next second, Mei Jing said, "I'm not going to participate in that show either."

Du Liangchen was momentarily speechless: "Huh? Are you kidding me, Mei Jing?"

"Consider it compensation for treating you to milk tea," Mei Jing said, amused by her own words.

Du Liangchen's eyes widened, his deep black eyes fixed on Mei Jing, who was grinning from ear to ear. His eyebrows were slightly raised, making him look exceptionally cute: "Compensation? Is that something a human being should say? Besides, is that how you use the word 'compensation'?"

"Hahaha... Your expression is hilarious!"

Seeing Du Liangchen's expression change, Mei Jing tried hard to suppress the upturned corners of her mouth.

Du Liangchen, upholding his integrity, turned his head away from Mei Jing. Seeing this, Mei Jing stopped laughing and became serious.

"Just kidding. Actually, I haven't decided whether I want to participate in that show. Since you don't want to go either, then we won't participate."

"Really?" Du Liangchen turned his head, his eyes shining as he looked at Mei Jing.

"Of course it's true, why would I lie to you?" Mei Jing nodded.

"Alright then." Du Liangchen was a little disappointed, but then he felt relieved and sighed, "I think I saw some money saying goodbye to me."

"Don't be discouraged, there will be many more opportunities," Mei Jing comforted her. "There will definitely be other ways to make money in the future."

Du Liangchen pouted and said, "Then you'd better take good care of my business."

Mei Jing smiled and said, "Okay, I'll definitely take good care of you."

The two chatted for a while longer before leaving the bubble tea shop. Sunlight shone on their playful figures as they gradually disappeared around the street corner.
