Chapter 108 Finding a Place to Stay

Mei Jing remembered seeing a nice-looking hotel on her way here, so the two of them went there and checked in smoothly.

Du Liangchen looked at the big bed, let out a "whoosh" and pounced on it. Even though he hadn't seen a bed for only one night, he looked like he hadn't slept in a bed for a year.

The sleeping bag was so uncomfortable that it was difficult to even turn over.

Du Liangchen took a nap, then went to find Mei Jing. He dreamed about the theme of their dance performance.

Mei Jing opened the door and saw an extremely excited Du Liangchen.

Mei Jing stepped aside and said, "Come in. Did you win the lottery? You seem so happy."

Du Liangchen said with a smile, "I've figured out the theme for our performance."

Mei Jing asked curiously, "What theme?"

Du Liangchen: "The story of Zhiyin is about two people who meet and become friends, but later part ways because they are different as humans and demons."

Mei Jing nodded: "That sounds good. Humans and demons are different, and the story is based on mythology. A traditional Chinese dance that combines these elements should be very interesting."

Du Liangchen said with bright eyes, "Right? That's what I thought too. It'll be much easier once we have a theme."

Mei Jing handed him a bottle of water and asked, "You haven't rested; you've been thinking about these things in your room the whole time?"

Du Liangchen took it and said, "No, I just woke up and had a dream. I only remembered it after I woke up."

"As expected of a novelist, your inspiration comes so easily. I heard that your novel is being adapted into a TV series. I wonder how the final product will be."

"I don't know either. We were just short of money back then. We sold it all, and the money was all gone. It's no longer my responsibility."

Du Liangchen tried to open the bottle cap but couldn't. Just as he was about to switch hands, Mei Jing saw this, took the cap from his hand, and opened it in one go.

Du Liangchen awkwardly touched his nose, inwardly cursing himself for being useless.

Seeing Mei Jing hand him the opened bottle of water, he smiled and took it, saying, "Thanks. Actually, I could have opened it myself, but I didn't expect the packaging to be so sturdy; my hand slipped."

Trying to salvage his image, Mei Jing found his behavior both funny and endearing.

The two bored individuals started playing video games, continuing until dinnertime.

With their stomachs growling, the two decided to go out for a meal. After inquiring about some well-known restaurants nearby, they saw that they were packed with people, and suddenly they lost their appetite.

I took out my phone and checked, and found that there was a night market nearby.

"There's a night market near Meijing! It's been so long since I've been to a night market. Shall we go check it out?"

Mei Jing's eyes lit up when she heard about the night market, and she nodded and said, "Great! There are lots of things at the night market, so we won't have to worry about what to eat."

The two walked for ten minutes and arrived at the entrance of the night market.

Looking at the crowd, Du Liangchen said to Mei Jing, "Sure enough, the night market has no shortage of people and food."

Mei Jing looked at the crowd and took Du Liangchen's hand.

Du Liangchen looked at him in confusion, her big eyes seeming to ask, "Why are you holding my hand?"

Mei Jing pointed to the crowd in front of her and said, "I think it's better if we stick together, otherwise I'm afraid we'll get separated in the crowd."

Du Liangchen looked at the crowded people and thought Mei Jing made sense, but they weren't girls, so it would be strange to walk hand in hand.

"Is it okay for two grown men like us to walk hand in hand like this? Aren't you afraid you'll get cyberbullied tomorrow? Why don't you just hold onto my bag instead? It'll protect you from pickpockets and prevent us from getting separated in the crowd."
