In the waters off Maizuru Bay in Kyoto, a Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Aegis destroyer was conducting a planned exercise when, at the end of the exercise, its sonar suddenly detected an unidentified non-living object rapidly approaching the ship.

Soon the unidentified inanimate object was within range of the torpedo and showed no signs of moving or stopping.

Captain Yukio Tateishi of the Aegis destroyer had come from the top floor to the CIC command room. His expression was solemn, and every decision he made from now on was of utmost importance.

Whether to wait for the other side's reaction or retaliate immediately is the question. If it's just a false alarm, that would be the best outcome. But if it's an underwater weapon from another country that hits the ship, then everyone on board will perish.

"All personnel prepare to retaliate!" Yukio Tateishi finally gave the order. A crew member hesitated, "Captain, if we open fire, it means we're entering a state of war."

As they were talking, the unidentified underwater object was already very close to the range of a torpedo.

"Maintain the current distance!" Yukio Tateishi ordered.

The order was given, and the ship began to accelerate. Many people felt the warship speeding up. Some passengers also sensed that something was wrong, and some children, holding onto their parents' hands, felt afraid.

Conan stared intently at the tense backs of the crew members in the command room, while Iori Muga's expression was grave. Kazuha quietly tugged at Hattori Heiji's arm and whispered, "Heiji, will something happen?"

Heiji Hattori comforted Kazuha: "It's alright, look, the captain is here."

However, in reality, everyone present knew that the Aegis-equipped ship was likely to be attacked.

"Fire the flash torpedoes! I need to see the enemy clearly!"

Following the captain's order, the warship launched a flash torpedo a few seconds later. On the big screen, Jiang Jin saw an explosion of fireballs erupt from the sea surface, and an object was blasted out of the water.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the ship may shake. Please remain seated and do not worry."

As the flames were gradually extinguished by the seawater, the shockwaves echoed across the surface of the sea and eventually reached the ship. The ship shook considerably, and Conan staggered slightly, but then noticed a small child standing alone nearby.

If Sonoko hadn't caught him, he probably would have fallen.

Why wasn't that child accompanied by an adult? Conan wondered to himself.

"What...is that?" Xiaolan asked, looking at the black object rising from the sea on the screen. The same question also arose in the CIC command room.

Jiang Jin narrowed his eyes, and a female officer in the command room also leaned closer to the monitor screen. The two of them said in unison, "An abandoned ship?"

After sonar detection confirmed that there were no other dangers on the abandoned ship, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, and the Aegis ship began to return to its originally planned course.

It all seemed to be a false alarm. The crew in the hall said that everyone was now free to move around and look around, and that lunch would be prepared for everyone in the cabin later at noon.

Jiang Jin watched as tourists walked out of the first-floor cabin one after another, then turned to look at the big screen. The abandoned ship that had been blown up by torpedoes on the azure sea had become a small black dot.

"Brother, let's go too," Xiao Lan said. Jiang Jin then stood up, and Shirley, who was standing beside him, asked, "What's wrong? Did you find something wrong?"

Jiang Jin shrugged: "I don't know, I just think that abandoned ship is weird. But it's not my business to worry about this kind of thing."

When visiting the deck, there was no distinction between ordinary people and VIPs; everyone wore life jackets and took photos on the huge deck.

Jiang Jin strolled leisurely on the deck, feeling the sea breeze. Suddenly, a child ran up and bumped into him. Jiang Jin was unharmed, but the child ended up sitting on the ground.

"Little brat, why are you running around on the deck all by yourself? Where are your parents?" Jiang Jin bent down and helped the child up. The little boy glanced at Jiang Jin with a nervous expression, but didn't answer his question. He just looked behind him.

Just as Jiang Jin was about to hand the child over to the crew members on deck, a man wearing a life jacket came over and said, "Courage, you're here."

The child named Courage glanced at the man, but neither responded nor ran away.

"Sir, who are you?" Jiang Jin looked the man up and down a few times. The man smiled slightly and replied, "I am Yongqi's father. I just went to the restroom, and when I came out, the child was gone."

He reached out his hand to the child and said, "Courage, come here."

The child hesitated for a moment before walking over, and the man took his hand, thanking Jiang Jin: "Thank you so much."

Jiang Jin watched the backs of the father and son. The man and child looked very serious as they spoke, perhaps telling the child not to run around.

"Brother, what are you looking at?" Xiaolan and Shirley came over, and Jiang Jin looked away. "Nothing, I just ran into a little kid running around."

Sherry followed Jiang Jin's gaze and only caught a fleeting glimpse of two figures, one tall and one short, walking in another direction. Behind the cannon emplacement, Conan watched them.

Conan also witnessed the scene where the child bumped into Jiang Jin and recognized the child as the one without a parent in the command room.

Even if you went to the toilet, you should have felt the strong shaking at that time, but the father was nowhere to be seen from the end of the CIC combat exercise until now, before the free movement on the deck. That's too strange.

Conan's doubts gradually rise. An unexpected accident during the exercise and the suspicious father and son make Conan feel that some conspiracy is taking place on the Aegis warship.

Watching Ran's departing figure, he finally decided to go back and find Hattori first, to tell him about the strange situation he had discovered, so that he could at least investigate it.

When Conan went back to find Heiji Hattori, the group was taking a photo with a female Self-Defense Force officer. Women make up a very small minority of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force officers, and they are mostly used as models and figureheads for publicity, without any real power or work.

So Conan was a little surprised when he saw the female Self-Defense Force officer on deck, because she didn't seem as relaxed and natural as the other crew members. She seemed preoccupied, even when facing the camera.

After taking the photos, Heiji Hattori pulled Conan aside and asked, "Kudo, why are you back? Didn't you say you were going to see Ran?" Conan replied, "I felt something was off, so I wanted to tell you to go investigate first."

Meanwhile, Jiang Jin, not wanting to take pictures but lacking a mobile phone to contact them anytime, wandered around near Xiao Lan and Shirley so they could find him easily.

Jiang Jin stood on the deck, looking at the azure sea in the distance. He was wearing the same sunglasses he had worn when he boarded the ship earlier. "The weather is pretty good today, but I feel something is off about this warship... I wonder if some Grim Reaper has infiltrated again... If so, this is actually an unexpected bonus."

To others, it might seem like Jiang Jin was talking to himself, but he was actually talking to the group members watching the live stream.

Jiang Jin took a step back and prepared to turn around, but he almost bumped into someone. He adjusted his sunglasses and saw that the other person was a woman wearing a self-defense officer's uniform.

"I'm sorry." The other person apologized first, and Jiang Jin didn't say anything, just nodded at her, "Oh, it's okay."

Jiang Jin was not familiar with the Self-Defense Forces' regulations, so he didn't find it strange that there were female officers on the warship. However, judging from their uniforms, which seemed different from the crew members in their navy blue uniforms, he guessed they were high-ranking officers on board.

However, the female officer kept looking around on the deck, and Jiang Jin shifted his gaze from the sea to her.

"Everyone, place your bets now and guess whether this female self-defense officer is Sister Corpse or the murderer."
