"Stop, don't run!"

Urgent footsteps echoed in the cruise ship's corridor as a man wearing a clown mask ran down the path. Kogoro Mouri and Shinichi Kudo were hot on his heels.

In the corridor ahead, a room door suddenly opened, and a woman walked out. She bumped right into the fleeing clown. The woman was startled, but the clown, with a menacing glint in his eyes, immediately kidnapped the female guest.

"Ah! What... what are you going to do?!" A sharp blade was placed against the female customer's neck.

Kogoro Mouri and Shinichi Kudo stopped in their tracks. The clown pointed the knife at the female customer and said, "If you chase after me again, I'll kill her. I've already killed one person, so I'm not afraid of one more!"

The man wearing the clown mask is the murderer on the cruise ship, seemingly named Yamamoto. The person he killed was named Saburo Okura, a third-rate actor. His main purpose in coming to this Halloween party wasn't to participate in a film audition, but rather for him and Yamamoto to take advantage of the large crowd to make a deal regarding "drugs."

Okizo Saburo was the seller, and Yamamoto was the buyer. Yamamoto had just taken a "high" drug before the transaction, so when the two had a minor disagreement over money, Yamamoto, under the influence of the drug, suddenly went berserk and killed someone.

"Help! Help me!" the kidnapped female guest cried out in panic.

Kogoro Mouri and Shinichi Kudo dared not make a move. Their opponent had a knife and was an agitated drug addict. They were afraid that if they went forward, they would provoke him.

"I told you to calm down and let go of that girl," Kogoro Mouri tried to calm him down.

“I’m very calm! Detective, huh? Listen, if you don’t want me to kill her, go and get me a lifeboat. There must be one on this cruise ship. As soon as I leave the cruise ship, I’ll release her immediately!” Yamamoto said, brandishing the knife in his hand.

"Hey buddy, you're blocking my way."

A mocking voice sounded from behind Yamamoto, and someone tapped him on the shoulder. Yamamoto instinctively turned around and was met with a half-human, half-skull ghost face. He was startled, then realized it was a drawing of a monster.

Yamamoto immediately turned vicious: "Are you looking for death? Get out of my way, or I'll kill you too... Heh..."

The knife slit her throat, and blood spurted out, splashing directly onto the face of the hostage woman. She immediately screamed in terror, trembling with fear.

Yamamoto's expression froze in shock. He watched as the person who had attacked him wore a faint smile and managed to dodge the spray of blood, avoiding getting it on him.

He released his grip on the female customer, clutching his bleeding neck with both hands, making a hissing sound like a leaky trachea. He then collapsed to the ground, twitching a few times before falling still.

The scene was so horrifying that even Kogoro Mouri and Shinichi Kudo were stunned, not to mention the female customer, whose legs went weak and she collapsed to the ground.

The person who came was Jiang Jin. He had just come from the third floor to the second floor to find Shinichi Kudo. He didn't know what was going on with Rei Furuya or why he hadn't acted according to plan.

"Miss, do you need help?" Jiang Jin flicked the butterfly knife in his hand, blood splattering on the wall. He turned to the frightened female customer, smiled slightly, and extended his hand to her. The woman quickly backed away, her voice trembling, "You...you stay away!"

Jiang Jin withdrew his hand, shrugged, and turned to look at Kogoro Mouri and Shinichi Kudo opposite him. He asked, "Gentlemen, have you seen our companion? I've been looking for him."

Kogoro Mouri immediately remembered the grimace-faced young man who had said he would investigate the case with him.

Forty minutes ago—

“Now that we’ve investigated everything, the next step is to find the culprit. He’s on this ship; he can’t escape. Let’s split up.” Kogoro Mouri said, glancing at Shinichi Kudo, clearly wanting to speak with him alone. He then said to Rei Furuya, “I’ll go with this kid. Are you alright on your own?”

Rei Furuya glanced at Hajime Kudo. His targets were the high school detective and the murderer, but it seemed Kogoro Mouri was wary of him, or perhaps he and Shinichi Kudo wanted to speak privately. Either way, it was clear the other wanted to get rid of him. Not wanting to alert them, Rei nodded and decided to wait for another opportunity.

Rei Furuya originally planned to find the murderer first and then use that to lure Shinichi Kudo out, but he didn't expect to encounter a suspicious woman who was dressed as a cruise ship staff member.

He suspected it was an FBI agent, so he went to follow him, but he lost him on the third floor and then ran into Jiang Jin, who was confronting Akai Hideo.

As for Kogoro Mouri and Shinichi Kudo, after their conversation, they encountered the murderer Yamamoto, who had returned to the victim's room to look for drugs, and the two began chasing each other in the corridor.

"That young man is your companion? Who exactly are you?" Kogoro Mouri asked sharply.

Looking at Jiang Jin's expression, Shinichi Kudo suddenly felt a chill. He had only ever seen such an expression on one person's face: Du Yago!

The organization finally showed up; they did indeed choose this moment to make their move, perfect for taking advantage of the chaos.

"Who am I? Kudo-kun should know very well, right?" Jiang Jin smiled slightly, looked at Kudo Shinichi, then raised his hand, pointing the black muzzle of his gun at him. "I'm really curious, didn't you have any doubts when you saw the invitation? You still dared to come, were you in such a hurry to die?"

“You specifically sent the invitation to Uncle Mori, weren’t you just forcing me to come? If I didn’t show up, you would have attacked him, wouldn’t you?” Shinichi Kudo replied.

Jiang Jin shook his head: "Don't wrong me. I didn't send Mr. Mori's invitation. Besides, if you don't come, we have other goals. After all, to some extent, your relationship with me is probably just a personal grudge. Everyone on the ship can return to shore safely after this is over. The organization always keeps a low profile and won't cause trouble."

"But you, knowing full well how much danger you're carrying, still dare to be so high-profile. I really don't know whether to call you brave and fearless or overly confident."

Shinichi Kudo sneered: "You think you can let this whole ship of people go? Who would believe that?"

"Then why don't you try dying and see?"

"Why are you wasting your breath talking to him? Run!" Kogoro Mouri suddenly stepped forward and launched a surprise attack on Jiang Jin, grabbing him and using his most proficient judo technique, the over-the-shoulder throw.

This move caught Jiang Jin off guard, and he was thrown over the shoulder by Kogoro Mouri. However, Jiang Jin braced himself with one hand and was not thrown hard by Kogoro Mouri.

"Uncle Mori!" Shinichi Kudo looked anxious as he saw Kogoro Mori and Jiang Jin start fighting. Kogoro Mori, while holding Jiang Jin back, shouted, "You brat, get out of here! Today, this detective will have a good chat with the members of this organization!"

Even though Kogoro Mouri harbors resentment towards Shinichi Kudo because Ran has turned into a child, he has still watched Shinichi grow up. And his daughter Ran would be heartbroken if she knew that something had really happened to Shinichi.

He didn't want his daughter to be sad.

Shinichi Kudo gritted his teeth, turned and ran off quickly; he had to find others to help. He ran around a corner, then suddenly stopped and turned back to look…

Jiang Jin's face was filled with murderous intent. Although Kogoro Mouri wasn't exactly a master, he was a former detective and had never slacked off in his judo training. So Jiang Jin was genuinely tripped up by him for a moment.

“Mr. Mori, are you being so lenient with that kid?” Jiang Jin said, dodging Kogoro Mori’s punch. “If it weren’t for him, your daughter wouldn’t have run into all this trouble.”

Kogoro Mouri, his face contorted with rage, threw a punch, saying, "That's between me and that kid, but I won't forget that you're the biggest culprits!"

Jiang Jin grinned. He hadn't expected that this seemingly confused detective could see things so clearly. He knew this person wasn't really a complete idiot.

"Then I'm truly sorry, Detective Mouri." Jiang Jin said, punching Mouri Kogoro in the stomach. Mouri Kogoro crashed to the ground, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth. "I won't let you pass."

"Sizzle—" The corridor lights suddenly went out...
