"Ah-"

The Beretta, with its silencer attached, fired a bullet that struck Hara Yoshiaki squarely in the chest, causing him to fall to the ground, the knife still clutched in his hand.

Jiang Jin bent down, picked up the knife, wiped away the fingerprints, and put it back on the table.

The following day, Conan, Ran, and the three children went to visit Hara Yoshiaki, but when the five of them arrived at the Hara family home, they found that Hara Yoshiaki had already died.

"Quick, call the police!" Conan said, taking off his shoes and running into the house. Hara Yoshiaki was lying on the floor, the blood from his chest already dried. "Is this... a gunshot wound to the chest? It's the small wine glass that Representative Oki used at the scene. Could it be the same killer?"

Conan felt something was off about the crime scene. The wound on the chest was clearly a gunshot wound. Could it be... that it was them?

Didan Primary School.

"Ah-"

Ran looked at Conan with concern and asked, "Conan, are you alright? How did you suddenly catch a cold?"

Conan shook his head and wiped his nose with a tissue: "I don't know, how can I catch a cold in this kind of weather?"

"Conan, do you want to go to the infirmary?" Ayumi said. "Ms. Haibara should have some medicine."

Conan thought it was just a cold and wouldn't be a problem, so he didn't take it seriously and continued attending class. It wasn't until gym class that he suddenly felt dizzy and lightheaded, and then his head spun and he lost consciousness.

Ai Haibara looked at Conan lying on the hospital bed with a cold expression until Conan opened his eyes, looked at the ceiling, and sat up.

"Huh? What's wrong with me...?"

"A bad cold," Ai Haibara replied. Conan turned to look at Ai Haibara. "Oh, it's Haibara-sensei."

Ai Haibara took a packaged capsule from the drawer and handed it to Conan: "I suggest you take your cold medicine and then go home."

There was a knock on the door of the infirmary. It was Xiaolan and her classmates who had finished class, along with their teacher, Ms. Lin.

Ai Haibara placed the medicine in Conan's hand and said, "This child has a bad cold. If possible, it would be best to send him home."

"Conan, in that case, you should go home and rest early. I'll call Professor Agasa and have him come pick you up."

Looking at Conan's sickly appearance, Ayumi said, "Conan probably won't be able to go to the Twin Towers press conference tomorrow, will he..."

Ai Haibara stood at the window of the infirmary, watching Conan being picked up by Professor Agasa and getting into the car downstairs. She opened the drawer, and there was only one pill left in the medicine box inside.

"I hope you take your medicine properly, Edogawa-kun."

Dr. A Li's house.

Conan, his voice thick with a nasal tone, asked Professor Agasa, "Professor, do you have any cold medicine at home?"

"It seems we really don't have any left. I'll go buy some." Professor Agasa said, pouring a glass of hot water and placing it on the bedside table. "Shinichi, you should rest at home for now."

Conan nodded, and as he took off his coat, the medicine fell out of his pocket.

"Hmm? It's cold medicine from Haibara-sensei? I wonder when the professor will be back, I'll take this first."

When Professor Agasa returned with cold medicine, he opened the door to find not Conan, but the unconscious Shinichi Kudo.

He was shocked and rushed over immediately: "Shinichi!"

In the infirmary of Teitan Elementary School, Ai Haibara sat back in her chair, wearing a white coat and headphones, staring blankly at the images streaming through the monitor on her phone.

She had just witnessed the entire process of Conan Edogawa transforming into Shinichi Kudo. What he took wasn't some cold medicine at all, but the antidote for Aptx-4869, which she had researched based on his blood.

Only after the antidote is developed can she proceed with the next stage of research.

"The adult dosage was restored starting three minutes after administration, and the dosage was taken over two minutes... The external experimental conditions—a severe cold—are currently unclear whether they affect the drug's effectiveness..."

The door to the infirmary was knocked open. Ai Haibara turned off her phone and looked up as if nothing had happened: "Hello, this is the infirmary."

After school in the afternoon, Ran and the three members of the Detective Boys planned to visit Conan at Professor Agasa's house. The four of them decided to go to the Poirot Cafe downstairs from the Mouri Detective Agency to buy him a cake.

A van was parked outside the coffee shop, and people were unloading things from it into the shop. Instead of goods and ingredients, they were carrying cages full of cats.

"Wow, so many kittens!" Ayumi stopped in front of a cage, where a chubby orange cat was looking at her. Ran saw the owner of the shop, the coffee shop owner, Takanashi Hina, directing the people moving the cages to be careful. "Hina-neechan, what are you doing?"

Hina Takanashi turned around and saw Ran, then replied, "I'm planning to turn this place into a cat café; it'll definitely attract more customers. Hey? Why isn't Conan with you guys?"

“Conan is sick, and we’re planning to buy a cake to visit him,” Ayumi said.

"Oh, I see. You should be careful, there's a lot of stuff in the shop today."

Late at night, after finishing her lab notes, Ai Haibara stared at the records in front of her in silence for a long time before picking up her phone and dialing a number.

When the call connected, the sound on the other end seemed a bit strange, as if someone was making a "whimpering" struggling sound.

"Good evening, Sherry. Is there anything I can do for you, Miss Sherry?"

Ignoring the other person's clever words, Ai Haibara asked, "Are you busy? What's that sound over there?"

On the other end of the phone, in a private room at a hotel, a man in a suit sat in a chair, sweating profusely, his mouth gagged with his tie, the other end of which was still tied around his neck. A bomb was strapped to his body, its red light flashing intermittently.

Jiang Jin had one foot on the other person's chair, a gun pointed at his head, and his other hand holding a cell phone, talking to Ai Haibara.

"Just chatting with a gentleman."

Ai Haibara hesitated for a moment: "Then I'll call you later."

Jiang Jin replied, "It's alright, go ahead and speak. Your matter is more important than his."

Ai Haibara, holding her phone, said, "I made the first stage of the antidote, and I just took the opportunity to give it to Shinichi Kudo today. He's back to his adult form. However, I don't know how long the effects will last, so..."

"I heard they were originally going to the Twin Towers presentation in Nishitama City tomorrow," Ai Haibara paused, then continued, "If he doesn't turn back tomorrow and still goes to the presentation, could you please go with him?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Jin's face lit up with a hint of excitement. He had turned back into Shinichi Kudo! Did that mean he could take action again?

“Of course, the organization happens to have a mission over there,” Jiang Jin agreed. “Don’t worry, I will take good care of your experimental subjects.”

After hanging up the phone, Jiang Jin turned his gaze to the man whose mouth was gagged and who couldn't speak. He picked up a fork from the table and stuck it into the man's leg.

The man struggled in pain but Jiang Jin held his shoulders down, leaving him trembling all over.

“Mr. Fujikawa…” Jiang Jin patted the man’s face with his gloved hand, then traced a line down his face to the artery in his neck. “You dare to steal our business? You’re asking for trouble, aren’t you?”

Jiang Jin's dark red eyes met Fujikawa's gaze. Fujikawa felt as if he were being stared at by a cruel and venomous snake, and began to regret his momentary greed.

"I know you have people outside, but I can turn you into a corpse before they find me. Do you want to try?"

Fujikawa shook his head vigorously.

"Then, as compensation for our losses, let's sign this." Jiang Jin placed the documents on the table in front of Fujikawa. Fujikawa read the contents of the contract, which was a low-price acquisition contract from a pharmaceutical company. Fujikawa's heart was bleeding, but he dared not refuse to sign.

After signing, Jiang Jin slowly took the fork off his lap and put it into Fujikawa's hand, then stuffed another knife into his hand as well.

"The food is quite good." Jiang Jin turned to look at the dishes on the table, then reached out and pulled the tie out of his mouth. Because the action was rather violent when he shoved it in, the corner of his mouth was torn. Jiang Jin sat down on the chair next to him, poured himself a glass of red wine, raised his chin and nodded, and smiled, "Let's eat, Mr. Fujikawa."

On the day of the Twin Towers' unveiling ceremony.

Conan was indeed unable to attend the presentation due to a severe cold. Ran, seeing that Professor Agasa had also arrived, couldn't help but ask worriedly, "Is Conan really okay being home alone?"

"It's alright, Conan said he's much better," Professor Agasa said. "Well then, let's hurry up and get going."

After Kogoro Mouri drove off, Shinichi Kudo, who had returned to his adult form, also took a taxi and followed behind.

His sudden return to normal yesterday really startled him. After careful consideration, Shinichi Kudo realized the only problem was that he had taken the cold medicine Ai Haibara had given him yesterday.

Is there something wrong with the medicine? Or is there something wrong with both the person and the medicine? Shinichi Kudo sat in the car, frowning as he thought, "Could it be that the school doctor named Ai Haibara is also a member of the organization?"

But why would the other party give him the antidote to help him? Who exactly is this Ai Haibara?

However, now is not the time to think about these things. The reason why Shinichi Kudo insisted on going to the Twin Towers was because the organization's people were there. They must have had some purpose in killing Yoshiaki Hara, and now that he has recovered, they must obtain as much information as possible.

Meanwhile, also on the way to Nishitama City, a black Ducati sped along. Although they had already dealt with Hara Yoshiaki, as a precaution, the organization had planted bombs in the engine room and power generation room on the fourth basement level of the Twin Towers last night.

The bomb would destroy any traces that might expose Yuan Jiaming's theft of business information.

Beneath the helmet, a pair of dark red eyes gazed at the twin towers faintly visible ahead. Jiang Jin turned the throttle, and the black motorcycle accelerated once more.

"Shinichi Kudo, now it's your turn to face the countdown to your journey to heaven."
