Chapter 87 The Most Brain-Dead System Cheat

A salty, fishy taste came to my tongue. Logically speaking, human blood was no different from ordinary food. As long as I could suppress my nausea, I could cook it into blood tofu and eat it. However, there seemed to be an unusual aura in this blood.

The moment it entered his throat, Guan Bo felt his head explode, and then three strange lines inexplicably appeared in front of his eyes.

"What's going on? Uh..."

Guan Bo hadn't even seen what was happening yet, and was only stunned for a moment when Yongxin threw a punch at him with all his might.

The fist had the force of a thousand pounds, and when it slammed into his chest, it made him feel suffocated.

But... is it just feeling stuffy?

Guan Bo took three steps back, rubbed his chest, and didn't feel much pain.

Logically speaking, it wouldn't be surprising if a nerdy guy like him had his sternum shattered and died from being hit by such a heavy punch. So why did he only take three steps back?

However, the distance created by that punch gave Guan Bo time to see clearly what the mutation in front of him was.

It wasn't just three simple lines: red, blue, and green. A small peach-like pattern hung in front of the red line, a little baby in front of the blue line, and a bamboo shoot in front of the green line.

Originally, all three lines were about the length of a finger, but after being punched by Yongxin, the red lines shortened a little, to less than one-twentieth of their original length.

"Holy crap! Are these health bars and mana bars? And what the hell is the other one?" Guan Bo didn't have time to marvel at the simplicity and brutality of this transmigration cheat, as Yongxin roared and continued charging forward, this time with his fist aimed at Guan Bo's head.

Guan Bo quickly ducked to avoid the attack, but being unskilled in combat, he overdid it, dodging the left punch only to fall into the range of the right. If he tried to dodge again, it would be too late.

Guan Bo thought that Yongxin, a highly skilled monk, was about to unleash a set of Arhat Fist, but he noticed that the guy staggered a few steps, forcibly turned around to face Guan Bo, and actually let the opportunity slip by.

Guan Bo then realized that his whip had struck Yongxin's right eye directly. He didn't know if it had ruptured the eyeball, but it was a bloody mess, and Yongxin's right eye was temporarily ruined.

Seeing this, Guan Bo naturally didn't hold back, taking advantage of the fact that he couldn't see and deliberately running to Yongxin's right. Although this guy was extremely strong, waving his right arm wildly, which looked quite frightening, Guan Bo's body seemed to have undergone a mutation, and his speed was slowly increasing.

At first, Guan Bo had to carefully dodge Yongxin's punch, but soon he realized that Yongxin's speed was nothing special. Before, he had to retreat several steps, but now he could dodge it by the slightest margin.

Guan Bo even tried to block Yongxin's fist, but the immense force only forced him back a step. It's clear that Guan Bo's strength has increased considerably.

Once they gradually figured out Yongxin's methods, his chaotic Luohan Fist and Tan Tui techniques became less of a threat.

Guan Bo spotted an opening in Yongxin's defenses, dodging Yongxin's kick as he lunged at him, and then lashed him across the face with his whip.

The strike was a little inaccurate, missing his left eye, but it still left another bloody mark on his face, breaking his left cheek.

"Ahhh! I'm going to kill you!" Yongxin, who had been slapped in the face again, went berserk and drew the long knife from his waist to slash at Guan Bo.

But Guan Bo was already familiar with Yongxin's tactics, and dodging the long sword was no more difficult than dodging a punch. The whip lashed out again, this time striking the back of Yongxin's hand. In pain, the long sword slipped from Yongxin's grasp, but Guan Bo hooked it with his toe and kicked it several feet away.

Without his weapon, Yongxin was no match for Guan Bo. He was like a giant spinning top, being whipped around and around by Guan Bo. At first, Yongxin could still swear a few times, his rural slang was quite vulgar and unpleasant, not at all like a monk who had renounced worldly desires. Guan Bo didn't retaliate, he just kept whipping Yongxin's mouth.

After three lashes, his lips swelled up like sausages, and Yongxin could no longer utter a curse.

Before long, the curses turned into screams, then into wails, until finally Yongxin was covered in sores that he could only cower on the ground like a turtle, groaning.

"I've hit you, you roughneck!" Yongxin pleaded with difficulty, his mouth swollen.

At this point, he could barely speak, and his face was almost expressionless. The fact that he held on until now before begging for mercy was quite a feat.

Guan Bo had no intention of whipping him to death; he simply tossed aside the tattered whip with disdain and returned to the old ox's side. The blue ox had bled to death, its eyes fixed on the sky, seemingly dying with unfulfilled grievances.

“Brother Ox, I originally said I would bestow upon you the title of Great Sage Equaling Heaven, but instead you died a violent death. However, I have avenged you. In this life you were born as livestock, enslaved by men. I only hope that in your next life you can be reborn as a human, or at least as a free and unfettered wild ox.” After Guan Bo finished speaking, he reached out and closed the ox’s eyes.

No sooner had Guan Bo finished doing all this than some strange things appeared before his eyes.

"Ding, merit points increased by one."

The calligraphy is lively and elegant; even those who don't understand calligraphy will find it pleasing to the eye.

But what's with this text that suddenly popped up? Merit points? Did you get them from smoking that idiot Yongxin's cigarettes, or from arguing and complaining in Qingniu?

"No way, have I encountered the most shameful cheat code for transmigrators—a brain-dead system? That simple and crude blue health bar, and the same annoying system notification sound, are bad enough, but why is it expressed in text? I can't hear that 'ding' at all, okay? Why does it have to be displayed? Was the person who designed this system an idiot?"

Guan Bo pointed at the old man and gave him a good scolding.

Thousands of miles away, in a blessed land, the old Taoist priest whom Guan Bo called cunning turned pale. He angrily dispelled the mysterious light before him, and the scene of Guan Bo cursing the heavens and the earth slowly faded away, but the words "idiot" still echoed three times in the end, as if representing his unwilling soul.

"You unfilial disciple! You asked for this yourself, and now you're cursing me. Wait till I get back and see how I deal with you!" The old Taoist priest said he would deal with him when he got back, but suddenly the sky darkened over Guan Bo's side.

Out of nowhere, a bolt of lightning struck, blasting Guan Bo to a charred state. The red stripe on the back of the peach was instantly halved, and Guan Bo felt pain all over his body, yet he couldn't even move a finger.

Fortunately, the red bar seemed to recover automatically. After lying down for a while, the red bar returned to three-quarters of its original length, and most of the lightning-struck wounds on Guan Bocai's body were healed.

"Damn it, this crappy system is supposed to be good, but it even has a punishment function?" Guan Bo was annoyed, but he didn't dare to curse anymore.

After stretching his limbs, Guan Bo walked towards Yongxin, only to find the guy unconscious. It was unclear whether he had fainted from the pain or been stunned by the lightning strike.

Guan Bo pondered how to deal with this guy. He'd already beaten Yongxin; the tenant farmer job was probably over. He'd better pack up quickly and leave Baolin Temple to find another way. Anyway, the system was out now; his epic protagonist life should begin, right?

Guan Bo had just returned to the cowshed when he saw a group of monks rushing over, panting. Guan Bo thought they had come to arrest him and interrogate him, but instead they asked him anxiously, "Have you seen Brother Yongxin?"

Guan Bo, of course, wouldn't tell the truth, so he lied and said, "I haven't seen him today."

The monk, covered in sweat, anxiously asked, "What should we do?"

"What happened at the temple?" Guan Bo asked curiously.

The monk replied, "The bandits have attacked and surrounded the mountain gate. Brother Yongxin is not here, and the group is leaderless. We are in grave danger."
