We bear people have power
Chapter 69 The Way of the Round Passage
The scene before me was somewhat eerie: something had dug open a fresh grave, and a hand was sticking out. Although it didn't look like a skeleton or covered in blood, it was still frightening enough.
Fortunately, Guan Bo was a monster by nature, which greatly increased his immunity to these supernatural phenomena. Apart from being startled at first, he quickly squatted down to take a closer look with great interest.
The arm emerged from the ground but didn't move further. Instead, it bent at a right angle like a periscope and then turned around.
The scene was even more bizarre, because the arm had rotated more than 360 degrees, a full two full rotations, yet no bone problems were visible.
"Is this monster a practitioner of jujitsu?" Guan Bo thought to himself.
Soon, as if it had "seen" Guan Bo, the arm pointed its fingers at him.
With a snap, the strange arm snapped its fingers at Guan Bo.
"What are you doing? Are you going to a restaurant and calling for a waiter?"
Guan Bo was about to pull the impolite monster out of the ground when he felt a sudden dizziness.
"Oh no, when did we fall into their trap?"
His robes showed no reaction, but Guan Bo knew he had been ambushed. Waves of dizziness washed over him, threatening to knock him to the ground.
Left with no other choice, Guan Bo quickly activated his innate divine ability, connecting the strange arm to his senses. As soon as the divine ability was activated, the dizziness was immediately transmitted to that arm.
To Guan Bo's surprise, the arm showed no adverse reaction whatsoever, and instead snapped its fingers three more times in succession.
This time it wasn't just dizziness; it felt like a hammer striking my head, with a buzzing sound echoing throughout my brain.
But this inescapable dizziness only fueled Guan Bo's anger.
In my entire life, I have never backed down at crucial moments.
Guan Bo nearly bit off his own tongue. The excruciating pain temporarily restored his clarity. Taking advantage of this brief moment, he roared and rammed his head against the grave.
Of course, it didn't forget to reveal its true form during this process; with a wave of its huge bear paw, it dug up the grave mound and the ground itself.
The entire burial mound was dug out by Guan Bo and thrown into the air, yet it miraculously remained intact.
Blood was trickling from Guan Bo's mouth, and dizziness and excruciating pain were still tormenting him, but that roar should have been enough for Gongsun Jing and the others to hear and come to his aid.
However, even after the grave mound fell to the ground, Guan Bo remained on high alert for a long time, but he still did not see the light of the flying sword.
The arm on the grave mound seemed to have taken root, remaining exactly as it had been just moments before.
Guan Bo thought to himself, "What the hell is this thing?"
Guan Bo was quite surprised that the grave mound had fallen from the sky without breaking at all, which was indeed very strange.
"What kind of monster are you? Do you dare to show your true face?" Guan Bo shouted provocatively at the grave mound.
This time, the burial mound did react.
The arm suddenly retracted, and then several pieces of soil crumbled from the hole through which the arm had emerged, and a head popped out.
The head sized up Guan Bo for a moment, then said, "Aren't you the monster?"
If you ignore the burial mound, the head is actually quite handsome, with well-defined features and a kind, gentle older man look. If it weren't just a single head, it would be a perfect scene from an idol drama.
"These days, is every monster this handsome? Is there no justice in the world?"
Guan Bo was very annoyed and cursed, "Pah! If you're not a monster, how did you come out of the grave? What kind of hero pretends to be a ghost?"
"Do you take me for a monster or a hero? Why are you talking nonsense, you monster?" the old man's head mocked.
Judging from his expression, he was very serious, and this earnest look doubled the effect of the mockery.
"Hey, I've got a short temper! Eat my Buddha's paw!"
Guan Bo roared again and charged forward, slamming his hand down on the grave. But an arm reached out from beside the head, easily blocking Guan Bo's fierce paw, leaving the grass on the grave completely unharmed.
Guan Bo could sense that this was not simply force, because what blocked his bear paw was a barrier like flowing water. It was cool, yet incredibly tough, and it also had the effect of dissipating force.
After transforming into human form, Guan Bo encountered many opponents, but most of them were skilled in martial arts and possessed great strength. The Great King of Inspiration, the Great Sage, and the Giant Spirit God were all formidable adversaries, most of whom he could not withstand.
However, Guan Bo knew that in a simple contest of strength, this robe would give him a significant advantage.
However, the strange old man in front of him was skilled in magic, and he had never encountered such an opponent before. Unlike Gongsun Jing's straightforward flying swords, Guan Bo was quite wary of his dizzying magic alone.
This kind of elusive and unpredictable tactic is simply impossible to defend against, and the water curtain of defense couldn't find any flaws for a while.
Just as Guan Bo was about to unleash the Xuan Tie Mountain to smash him, the uncle spoke again: "Judging from your methods, you seem to be from the Buddhist sect. Why would you come to my Fangcun Mountain?"
Upon hearing this, Guan Bo immediately perked up and quickly asked, "Fangcun Mountain? What do you call Bodhi Patriarch?"
"I am a disciple of the patriarch, and my Taoist name is Yuantong," the man introduced himself.
I've searched high and low without finding it, but it came to me effortlessly. I never expected to encounter a disciple of Fangcun Mountain here. Although I don't know why this person has a hobby of lying in graveyards, judging from his skills, he must be a disciple of Bodhi Patriarch. He's fundamentally different from those deceptive tricks in the town.
But can this middle-aged man, whose Taoist name sounds like a deliveryman, really take me to see the Bodhi Patriarch?
Regardless, the key is to state your purpose first.
Guan Bo quickly said to the Taoist priest, "Taoist priest, I have important business to discuss with Patriarch Bodhi. Could you please introduce me?"
"What business do you have with the patriarch?" Yuantong asked.
"It was the Monkey King who recommended me to seek instruction from Patriarch Bodhi, so I could learn magic from him," Guan Bo answered truthfully.
“So it’s Senior Brother Wukong. He hasn’t come back to visit the Patriarch in a long time. Since it was Senior Brother who recommended you, I’ll take you up the mountain.” After saying this, Yuantong jumped out of the grave mound.
The mud flew up, revealing his tall figure. His black robe was spotless, and he certainly had the demeanor of a true disciple of Fangcun Mountain.
Seeing that this person was easy to talk to, Guan Bo couldn't help but ask, "May I ask why you hid in this burial mound, Master Yuantong?"
Yuantong said somewhat embarrassedly, "It's a long story, I..."
Before he could finish speaking, several townspeople arrived outside the cemetery, carrying offerings of three kinds of sacrificial animals, incense, candles, and paper money; they were clearly there to pay their respects at the grave.
They seemed unable to see Guan Bo and Yuan Tong; they simply cried and wailed at the dug-up grave.
"Which heartless bastard actually dug up our family's grave!"
"Don't die!"
"May this kind of person be struck by lightning!"
……
Guan Bo felt embarrassed listening to this.
Left with no other option, Yuantong snapped his fingers several times, causing all the people to faint.
Guan Bo frowned, wondering what this Daoist priest was up to. However, the latter quickly explained, "I erased a small part of their memories. It's better that they don't know that the mortal and immortal realms are separated."
Guan Bo asked curiously, "Who are these people to the Taoist priest?"
“They are all my children and grandchildren, and today happens to be the seventh day after my death,” Yuantong explained.
