Chapter 392 The Demonic Shadow Descends, the Corrupted Magical Artifact
Guan Bo felt he had never seen anything so magnificent. It wasn't just its enormous size; after all, Guan Bo himself could transform into a behemoth the size of a planet, and his every move could cause changes in gravitational tides.
What shocked Guan Bo was the oppressive aura emanating from this demonic figure. Solemnity, terror, power, death... a multitude of words combined to describe the feeling evoked by this demonic figure.
However, most of these words contain negative connotations.
The appearance of this demonic figure was like a mountain pressing down on my heart, wiping away all the joy of victory and leaving only boundless fear.
Guan Bo was only startled by the imposing appearance of the demonic figure, and quickly recovered after a brief moment of distraction. However, the celestial generals were not so relaxed. After the demonic figure appeared, their expressions all changed. Some stared blankly, seemingly their minds had been stolen; others trembled as if trapped in a terrifying illusion. Even Wang Lingguan, whose strength far surpassed his peers, gritted his teeth, seemingly under immense pressure.
Guan Bo spread his Soul-Sealing Light, enveloping all the divine generals. In an instant, he isolated them from the influence of the demonic shadows, allowing the divine generals to recover from their negative mental state.
"Thank you!" Wang Lingguan clasped his hands in a fist salute to Guan Bo.
If it weren't for Guan Bo's presence, the tens of thousands of divine generals would have been powerless to resist once this demonic shadow appeared, and would have been forced to submit to slaughter.
"Don't be shy, what exactly is this thing?" Guan Bo pointed to the huge demonic shadow in the void.
At this moment, the demonic figure had not yet fully revealed its true form; only a blurry outline could be seen… It looked like a Buddha.
Guan Bo was startled by his own thought. How could there be such a Buddha?
"This is the Four-Faced Demon, formed from the divine power of Brahma and the original vows of the demons, making it almost invincible," Wang Lingguan explained.
No wonder, so this thing is the Four-Faced Demon. It's already so powerful just from its appearance. If it were to fully reveal its true form, it would be an overwhelming force.
Although Guan Bo knew his own special abilities and that he had a strong ability to restrain these demons that evolved from the Heavenly Dao, the demonic shadow in front of him was clearly not something he could deal with.
The title of "Demon Slayer" is not yet truly fitting.
However, there's no need for Guan Bo to worry too much. The Heavenly Court has taken the initiative to lure the four demons here, so they naturally have a way to deal with them.
A golden light of Buddhist energy bloomed in the void, resembling a lotus platform. On the platform, a white-robed Bodhisattva held a vase and looked up at the enormous demonic shadow.
Even though he was looking up, Guan Bo did not feel the slightest sense of humility from this Bodhisattva. On the contrary, the huge demonic shadow, which was originally hidden in the void, had to be fully revealed in this not-so-blinding Buddhist light.
It looked like a Buddha with four faces and eight arms, but each face was green and fanged, ferocious and terrifying. The eight arms did not hold Buddhist ritual implements, but rather the heart, liver, spleen, lungs, hands, feet, head, and various human body parts.
It looked as if a person had been dismembered alive, with each arm grasping a part of the body. And these body parts seemed to still be alive; the heart was still pounding, the limbs were twitching and twisting, and even the severed head was opening its mouth, emitting a silent scream.
The sight of such a hideous shape sent chills down Guan Bo's spine.
"This thing is like Cthulhu; just seeing it makes you lose sanity," Guan Bo complained.
Guan Bo couldn't quite understand the battle between Guanyin Bodhisattva and the Four-Faced Demon, because the two were simply standing facing each other. It couldn't be some kind of mutual respect, nor was it waiting for non-existent background music to start; rather, the confrontation had already begun the moment they appeared, a conflict that Guan Bo couldn't see.
The most obvious sign was that countless gashes began to appear on the human tissues in the hands of the Four-Faced Demon, constantly spurting blood. Dark red, foul blood oozed from these severed limbs, spraying into the void.
However, some fine black Sanskrit characters appeared on the lotus platform beneath Guanyin Bodhisattva. Guan Bo could see clearly that although the characters were undoubtedly Sanskrit, they were written in reverse.
The Buddhist swastika, when flipped over, becomes the Nazi symbol. It seems that everything in this world has two sides; once a limit is exceeded, things will inevitably reverse.
These reversed Sanskrit characters seem to be the opposite of Buddhism, symbolizing the most brutal and defiled forces in the world.
Guanyin Bodhisattva and the Four-Faced Demon were locked in a stalemate. Wang Lingguan said to Guan Bo, "Let's go side by side. Now is the perfect time to eliminate the demon."
Guan Bo saw tens of thousands of divine generals attack together, and the light of countless magical treasures and spells converged into a huge array, which evolved into a heaven-slaying blade and slashed towards the four heavenly demons.
The power of a single strike slashed a wound hundreds of miles long on the enormous demonic shadow, causing foul blood to gush out like a waterfall.
Such a result was beyond Guan Bo's expectations. The once arrogant Demon Shadow was seriously injured with a single strike, which meant that Guanyin Bodhisattva had restrained much of its power.
This was also part of the Buddhist and Heavenly Court's plan: to use Guanyin Bodhisattva as bait to lure the Four-Faced Demon into attacking with all its might, while the remaining heavenly soldiers and generals would gather all their strength to take the opportunity to severely injure or even kill the Four-Faced Demon.
The Heaven-Slaying Blade rose again, gathering the power of tens of thousands of divine generals; this strike was enough to annihilate a true immortal. However, as the second strike fell, it was blocked by an arm raised by the four demonic figures.
The arm gripped a twitching human leg, the blade cutting into the thigh, creating a deep wound that exposed bone, yet unable to sever the filthy thigh bone.
Although the attack failed, it also restrained some of the power of the Four-Faced Demon. Guan Bo noticed that the speed at which the rebellious Sanskrit characters were climbing on Guanyin Bodhisattva's lotus platform had slowed down considerably.
Guan Bo naturally wouldn't stand idly by, so he transformed into a panda, grabbed the Ruyi Divine Weapon which had turned into a giant hammer, and smashed it towards the four demons.
To deal with this monster whose strength was unknown, Guan Bo felt that a hammer was the best weapon to unleash his immense power.
But there was another enormous black shadow, even faster than Guan Bo, and the Black Bear Spirit, whom they had been searching for, unleashed its full power at this moment.
A colossal black bear, towering like a mountain, gripped a black-tasseled spear as thick as a pillar supporting the sky, and thrust it towards the chest of the four demonic figures. Thousands of tiny black whirlwinds coalesced at the spear's tip, shattering even space itself in their wake.
This single shot represents the culmination of the Black Bear Spirit's lifelong cultivation, designed to kill with a single blow.
The power of this shot was indeed extraordinary; the Four-Faced Demon stretched out three arms to block it.
The liver and spleen, two human artifacts, were torn apart by the whirlwind from the black-tasseled spear. Although this slightly slowed the spearhead's speed, it still couldn't stop it. In the end, the arm artifact had to be used as well. This deathly white corpse arm extended five sharp fingers, grabbing at the black-tasseled spear. The five fingers were instantly crushed, leaving not even bone fragments.
But this grab finally consumed most of the power of the black-tasseled spear. Ninety percent of the whirlwind condensed at the spear tip disappeared. The last bit of sharpness allowed the spear to only pierce through the palm of the corpse arm and break the bones of the forearm, but it failed to pierce the chest of the Four-Faced Demon.
However, before the Four-Faced Demon could even feel smug, Guan Bo's hammer arrived.
