We bear people have power
Chapter 344 Five Types of Innate Divine Abilities
"So you just swallowed that karmic fire lotus whole?"
In the outer reaches of space, the black bear spirit asked Guan Bo, "There's no air here; these two bears are communicating through telepathy."
"That's what I thought too, but then those three guys stopped me. They said if I swallowed this lotus, my internal organs would be burned to a crisp. I'm not afraid of the three poisons and sins on this thing, but I can't withstand the high temperature brought by the endless karmic fire," Guan Bo explained.
"So what did you do after that?" The black bear spirit was also curious, wondering how such a highly poisonous substance could have made Guan Bo's strength increase so much.
Judging from the way he killed the Stone Demon, Guan Bo is already not much weaker than himself. Even if he's not at the level of a Great Sage of the Demon Race, he's only a hair's breadth away.
“I took off my clothes and then wrapped them around this Black Lotus of Karmic Fire,” Guan Bo said.
Guan Bo has two Golden Cores, one of which has already advanced to the Nascent Soul stage due to the White Lotus of Corpse Bones. However, his Demon Core, belonging to the Demon race, has remained stagnant at the Golden Core stage, showing no progress.
As a result, Guan Bo's strength became unbalanced, and he couldn't unleash his full potential. Therefore, this karmic fire lotus was prepared for the demon core robe.
Since the demon core robe had no mouth, it couldn't eat the lotus flower. So Guan Bo came up with a makeshift solution: he wrapped the lotus flower inside the robe and then saw if it would work.
Surprisingly, after being slapped by Jingwei for being a pervert, the Demon Core Robe actually absorbed the lotus flower.
The Demon Core Robe could be considered Guan Bo's natal magic weapon, even more closely related to it than a natal magic weapon. Therefore, after the lotus was absorbed by the Demon Core Robe, Guan Bo immediately felt his entire body filled with scorching heat.
The feeling came so suddenly that Guan Bo was completely unprepared. It was as if a fire was burning inside him, leaving him feeling parched.
How intense was this feeling? The direct effect was that it made Guan Bo dizzy, causing him to plunge into the lava and swallow it in large gulps.
It was as if he had drunk not lava, but a sweet spring.
Without the protection of the demon core robe, Guan Bo's body was scalded black as soon as it came into contact with the karmic magma.
The scene was too bizarre; the three souls of greed, anger, and ignorance, which had just been freed, were left unattended, and no one had time to pull Guan Bo back.
Just when everyone thought Guan Bo was about to die in such a bizarre way, the long-tongued ghost and the big-headed ghost, who had been watching from the sidelines, disregarded the danger and flew onto Guan Bo's head.
The two men each took out half of a glittering golden stone and instantly put them together. The two stones fit together perfectly, and the golden light instantly turned into an emerald green glow.
The two ghost messengers threw the combined stone onto Guan Bo, and the green light enveloped him. The light intertwined and coiled, like a giant cocoon.
The demon core robe was also drawn in by the light and entered the cocoon of light.
The long-tongued ghost and the big-headed ghost were heartbroken and trembled as they said, "The Bodhisattva bestowed this treasure of 'stone from another mountain' upon us, and we originally thought we would never need it. Sure enough, what is not yours will never be yours."
The stones from other mountains can be used to polish jade. We can learn from others' strengths to compensate for our own weaknesses. This is the principle behind Guan Bo's method of cultivating movement.
It seems that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva had foreseen that Guan Bo would face this calamity after absorbing the karmic fire black lotus. Therefore, he had the long-tongued ghost and the big-headed ghost separate, each carrying half of the stone from another mountain. At the crucial moment, they were combined into one, allowing the treasure to exert its power.
There is no sun or moon in the cave, so Guan Bo was probably inside the cocoon of light for more than a month.
When he came out, his appearance was unchanged, but his whole demeanor had changed drastically. The biggest difference was that there were five halos behind him, like the halo of a Bodhisattva or Buddha.
The outermost ring is intertwined with black and white, resembling a yin-yang symbol; the innermost layer is colorless and transparent, with only the outlines of thin, transparent threads, exuding an incomparably sharp aura; the third layer is red, yellow, and purple, looking like three flames constantly eroding each other; the fourth layer is gray, and just one glance makes one feel as if their soul is drawn into it; and the last layer is the purest in color, a dazzling gold, and also the layer with the strongest Buddhist aura.
After absorbing the black lotus, the demon core robe also advanced to the Nascent Soul stage, but because of Guan Bo's special physique, it did not attract a heavenly tribulation. However, the boundless karmic fire refined Guan Bo from the inside out, just like the Great Sage Equaling Heaven had walked through Laozi's alchemy furnace.
The Monkey King was trained for a long time, gaining the innate supernatural ability of Golden Eyes Fiery Eyes. In fact, this ability was not something he cultivated, but rather something he was born with.
It is important to know that, according to the original text of Journey to the West, after the Monkey King was born, two golden beams shot from his eyes, piercing the heavens and startling the Jade Emperor, the Supreme Heavenly Venerable. However, after he began to eat human food and drink water, the golden beams gradually faded away.
Therefore, Laozi (Taishang Laojun) refined the supernatural powers that the Great Sage Equaling Heaven originally had hidden within his body.
The same goes for the karmic fire; the five layers of light that were forged are actually Guan Bo's five innate supernatural abilities.
The first layer of Yin-Yang Light is a divine power that Guan Bo formed after consuming the Corpse Bone White Lotus and the Karmic Fire Black Lotus. It not only allows Guan Bo to walk on lotus blossoms with every step, treading on the void with unparalleled speed, but also summons a giant lotus flower, which can cut down stone demons as easily as mowing grass with the opening and closing of its petals.
The second layer is the Light of Sky Slash, which is transformed from the Sky Slash Insect that Guan Bo carried at the time. It can transform into a sharp blade that can open up space as easily as a knife.
The third layer is the light of divine flames, which is formed from the Ruyi Divine Weapon carrying the fire of the evil god, the fire of the Asura, and the fire of the Tushita Heaven. It can be formed by gathering and dispersing, and when it gathers, it condenses into a weapon with unparalleled power. When it disperses, it is like heavenly fire spreading everywhere and penetrating every crevice.
This fourth layer is the Soul-Capturing Light, a manifestation of Guan Bo's innate ability to read minds. It can sense the thoughts of all things in heaven and earth and even interfere with the minds of others. Anyone with slightly inferior cultivation or a weaker will will be controlled by Guan Bo.
Finally, the fifth layer is Guan Bo's original skill, the Vajra Light from the Demon Core Robe. This layer of golden light protects the body, making it impervious to all magic and indestructible, comparable to the indestructible body of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven.
With these five supernatural powers, Guan Bo's abilities were fully integrated, and he finally stepped into the threshold of becoming a Great Sage of the Demon Clan.
After hearing Guan Bo's introduction, the Black Bear Spirit was amazed. He never expected that Guan Bo would have such a miraculous encounter so soon after he left. He was both surprised and delighted.
"That's great! With your help, I can complete the task arranged by the Bodhisattva as soon as possible," the black bear spirit said happily.
"Speaking of which, I was just about to ask you, what exactly are you doing here in this outer void?" Guan Bo asked curiously.
"As you can see, the reason for coming to the outer heavens is naturally to kill the Heavenly Demons," said the Black Bear Spirit.
"The Heavenly Demon?" Guan Bo had heard this name from the Buddha. The corpses beneath Lingyun Ferry on Mount Ling were the bodies of five hundred Arhats possessed by the Heavenly Demon.
But what exactly is this Heavenly Demon?
