After leaving the peach tree, Su Xingze and his companion went straight back to the courtyard.

The two were unaware of the conversation that took place under the peach tree after they left.

When Su Xingze saw the young couple again, he could hardly recognize them.

As the release into the wild approached, classes and training at the clan school had already ceased.

The tribe gave them a three-day deadline, which was time for the boys to prepare their luggage, travel expenses, and find teammates.

After leaving the Zhang family this time, they don't plan to come back, so they have quite a lot to pack.

Su Xingze likes to shop in the mall, but most of his things are not suitable to be taken out, so he keeps them in his space. He only needs to pack the clothes he usually wears into his space.

They spent half a day packing their things, mainly Zhang Shenglin who was organizing and tidying up.

As he tidied up, he realized that he had accumulated quite a few belongings without even noticing.

The clothes and shoes that have been added in recent years, the handmade mechanisms and hidden weapons, some weapons bought from the mall, the books handwritten from the library, the complete set of small furniture made for the little mermaids, and some group photos that Zhang Shengchun took for them when he was obsessed with taking pictures...

Zhang Shenglin was somewhat surprised to see the several large, bulging packages on the table, even though his personal space was already full and some luggage hadn't been put in yet.

He was actually a person with very low material desires, which can be seen from the fact that he wore the clothes issued by the clan all year round, and even if they were torn, he would just mend them himself, and he didn't care if they were too short and would continue to wear them.

He didn't care about the taste of food, not just clothes; as long as it filled his stomach, that was enough.

But all of that became a thing of the past after he met Su Xingze.

Su Xingze is not one to compromise himself, and as someone he acknowledges, he cannot bear to see Zhang Shenglin compromise himself.

If he buys something from the mall and it's useful to Zhang Shenglin, he always makes sure to buy him a copy.

His involvement can be seen in everything from daily necessities to clothing, food, and housing.

There was no need for a vehicle. In an era when even bicycles were expensive, buying any means of transportation, even a horse, would be too conspicuous within the Zhang family. So Su Xingze simply didn't buy anything.

This has resulted in Zhang Shenglin having far more personal belongings than he had imagined. He can tell you the origin of every single item here, and without any surprise, they are all related to the little mermaid.

He couldn't bear to throw away any of the clothes the little mermaid had personally chosen for him, the mortise and tenon building block toys she gave him for his birthday, or the animal headbands the little mermaid bought him when she had a mischievous urge.

Finally, Zhang Shenglin, who had very low material desires and whose personal space had not been expanded for several years, chose to spend points to expand his personal space for the first time, and then put everything away.

Seeing Zhang Shenglin, who was usually calm, looking troubled and conflicted, Su Xingze couldn't help but laugh out loud.

He laughed without any attempt to hide it. Zhang Shenglin glanced at him helplessly, then turned back to continue checking for any omissions.

They're leaving the Zhang family tomorrow, and he needs to make sure nothing is left behind.

Zhang Shenglin was different from other boys in the clan; he had left the Zhang family before, but each time he left for other places, his memories of those times were not pleasant.

Therefore, he did not yearn for the outside world.

This time, leaving the Zhang family was different. On the surface, it wasn't obvious, but in reality, Zhang Shenglin was secretly looking forward to it.

He had no attachment to the Zhang family. As long as he was with the little mermaid, it didn't matter to him where they were.

Both of them had their own space, and packing their luggage was just a bit of a hassle. By the afternoon, they were almost done. All that was left was to put away the things in the courtyard that they wouldn't take with them and wouldn't use again in the future into the warehouse. By the time they finished doing this, the sun was almost setting.

They planned to leave early the next morning. After checking the sky, Zhang Shenglin, as usual, went into the kitchen to start preparing dinner.

He was leaving tomorrow, so dinner didn't need to be too lavish. Zhang Shenglin glanced at the remaining ingredients in the kitchen and decided to make two simple stir-fries.

Su Xingze was waiting for Zhang Shenglin's lovingly prepared dinner when someone knocked on the courtyard gate.

The martial arts teacher from the clan school walked in. He was a tall man, over 1.8 meters tall. According to Su Xingze's observation, his height was already among the top in the Zhang family.

Zhang Fukong smiled as he pushed open the courtyard gate and walked in. His eyes flickered when he saw Su Xingze sitting in the courtyard.

"Haven't you had dinner yet?" Zhang Fukong asked casually, smelling the aroma of food wafting in the air.

The moment Zhang Fukong entered, Su Xingze narrowed his eyes, realizing that the newcomer was up to no good.

"I wonder what brings you here, sir?" Su Xingze stood up, without offering Zhang Fukong a seat or any other polite words. "As you can see, Ah Lin and I are going to go hunting tomorrow, so we've packed up our things and can't entertain you. Please forgive us."

Zhang Fukong looked at him and smiled: "It's alright."

When Zhang Fukong entered the courtyard, Zhang Shenglin, who was in the kitchen, sensed an unfamiliar presence. He poked his head out of the kitchen and, upon seeing Zhang Fukong, felt a sudden unease.

Zhang Fukong was not surprised to see Zhang Shenglin, and he treated both of them with great kindness.

"I've heard that you two live together. It seems that your relationship is really as good as everyone says."

Faced with Zhang Fukong's overly gentle attitude, Su Xingze got goosebumps.

He couldn't understand why Zhang Fukong, a smiling tiger, would appear in the cold and aloof Zhang family. For the past two years, Zhang Fukong had been staring at him with a smile that hid a knife, making it impossible for him to do anything underhanded or slack off.

"Sir, there's no need to beat around the bush. Please state your purpose directly."

Su Xingze had never liked this kind of cunning person, and he didn't want to beat around the bush with Zhang Fukong, so he asked directly.

Zhang Fukong wasn't angry; he still smiled, but the look in his eyes as he looked at Su Xingze carried a certain meaning that made Zhang Shenglin wary.

Have you decided where to let your animals roam freely?

Su Xingze certainly wouldn't say that they planned to leave the Zhang family and never come back, so he just casually replied, "We haven't made a choice yet. We're planning to go to the south to take a look first."

"That's perfect." Zhang Fukong's voice carried a hint of amusement. "I have an ancient tomb here, a Warring States period tomb, and I'd like to invite you to go with me. Would you be willing?"

Su Xingze noticed that he was speaking only to him and that the little Qilin was not mentioned in his words, so he couldn't help but frown.

Knowing full well that he and the little Qilin were together, they invited him to the tomb but excluded the little Qilin. Wasn't that clearly asking him to refuse?

"Thank you very much for your kindness, sir, but I..."

Zhang Fukong interrupted him: "Don't rush to refuse."

His gaze swept over the boy's unusually white hair, a remarkably beautiful color that subtly shimmered in the light, like the smoothest silk.

"If I'm not mistaken, your bloodline should belong to the Snow Qilin, a variant of the Water Qilin, one of the Eight Great Qilins."

"What?" Su Xingze found his words rather strange.

However, Zhang Shenglin, who was standing next to him, seemed to understand Zhang Fukong's words and stepped forward to block Su Xingze in a protective posture.

His expression was easy to read; the wariness in his dark eyes confirmed one thing for Zhang Fukong: "It seems you also know about the Snow Kirin."

Zhang Shenglin pursed his lips. He had already read through the book the little merman had given him. Because of his own Qilin bloodline, he was most familiar with the Qilin chapter in the "Complete Collection".

The Snow Kirin, a variant of the Water Kirin, inherits the Water Kirin's illusionary abilities and is the Kirin with the strongest illusionary abilities.

Note: The Snow Kirin and its expertise in illusion are both made up by me. I haven't been able to find out if there is a real Snow Kirin.
