Feasibility of Mermaids Infiltrating Qilin
Chapter 131 The Twist in the Valley
Taking one last look at the training ground, Su Xingze paid special attention to the few fake 'Zhang Shenglin's'.
The two parted ways here. Su Xingze headed towards the exit, while Zhang Shenglin, based on the information provided by Wang Cheng, searched for the location where his clansmen were being held.
From Wang Cheng, they learned that several members of the Zhang family were also being held here.
The Zhang family members do not stay in their ancestral home for long periods of time. Most of them are active throughout the country, and even overseas, there are many members of the Zhang family's maternal relatives.
These people were far from the core of the Zhang family for a long time, and they would send messages back to the Zhang family every once in a while, partly to pass on intelligence, and partly to let them know that they were safe.
If a fixed communication line is suddenly cut off, it means that something may have happened to that member of the clan, and the Zhang family will send the nearest clansman to investigate.
Over the years, many clansmen have gone missing. The remains of most of them have been found, but the whereabouts of a small number of clansmen who were confirmed to be alive are unknown. They were only confirmed dead some time after they went missing.
Some of them were likely imprisoned by the Wang family.
At the exit of the valley, there is a simple shed, guarded by only two people.
The location here is elevated, offering a clear view of any outsiders who may appear.
Su Xingze appeared silently behind the two guards. The two guards were still playing dice out of boredom when they suddenly felt a tightness around their necks. Su Xingze grabbed them by the back of their collars, lifted them up, and slammed them hard against the ground.
With a loud thud, both of them suffered cuts to their foreheads, blood streamed down their faces, and they passed out completely.
After finishing these tasks, Su Xingze came out of the shed and peered down the mountain. Zhang Fukong, who was hiding in the forest at the foot of the mountain, saw him and knew that the guards monitoring him had been dealt with. He then called his clansmen to go up the mountain together.
The Zhang family moved quickly and soon entered the valley via the mountain path.
The last person to arrive cleanly and efficiently dealt with the unconscious guards, preventing them from waking up and exposing them.
The group dispersed as soon as they entered the valley. They sneaked into the valley and dealt with the Wang family members who were left alone.
Su Xingze ignored the Zhang family's actions; his mission was complete, and now it was his free time.
On the training field, the teachers who were training the orphans were unaware that danger was approaching.
The stern, tall, thin teacher carried a rattan whip and walked among the children. If any child did not perform up to standard or tried to slack off, he would raise the whip high and strike the child hard.
He passed by a thin boy, whose body trembled in fear, and the blood-stained vine whip immediately fell on the boy.
The child let out a scream, and realizing he had made a sound, his little face turned deathly pale.
Sure enough, the next second, the master raised the rattan whip again, and the rattan whip fell down with a sound of cutting through the air. Knowing how painful it was, the child couldn't help but close his eyes.
"Ding-a-ling~"
Amidst the crisp sound of the bell, the child waited in vain for the vine whip to fall. Curiosity piqued, he secretly opened his eyes and was stunned by the scene before him.
A gleaming blade pierced through the master's chest, and the child could still see a single drop of blood trembling and falling from the tip.
pat!
Bright red blood splattered from the tip of the knife onto the ground. The child snapped out of his daze and cautiously looked at the person behind his master with fearful eyes.
"Big brother?"
His terrified gaze was filled with confusion.
The person who killed their master was one of the oldest brothers in the valley. The brothers in the valley who were much older than them were all praised by their master and were the objects of worship and envy for all the children.
"Tsk!"
There are just too many children here; Su Xingze wouldn't stoop so low as to prey on them.
The ethereal bell rang again, and the children present quickly became unfocused. They staggered to their 'dormitory' and lay down with their eyes closed on the crowded communal bed.
After clearing the area, Su Xingze once again turned his gaze to the people he had controlled.
The teenagers were completely engrossed in the illusion, while the members of the Wang family remained conscious, but were bound by an invisible force, unable to speak or move, and could only watch helplessly as the tools they had trained raised their knives at them.
“Isn’t one-sided massacre too monotonous?” Su Xingze’s lips curled up, and a good idea suddenly came to him. “Let’s do it this way.”
When the bell rang again, a sliver of clarity appeared in the eyes of the boy pawns. They were now both in the illusion created by Su Xingze and possessed a degree of rationality, clearly knowing what had happened.
Several similar-looking boys looked at their 'master' with the same gaze, but there was no longer any reverence in their eyes; instead, they were filled with intense killing intent.
They knew this was their teacher, someone they had to obey.
At this moment, scenes from the past kept flashing through their minds.
The joy of being brought back to family, the hardship of training, the pain and grievances of being punished... the confusion of losing one's name and face... all the emotions accumulated in the past erupted at this moment.
The look they gave us was chilling.
The Wang family was startled; at that moment, they finally realized they could move again.
"What do you want to do!"
"There is an enemy attack!"
In the immediate moment they were able to act, some members of the Wang family warily examined the obviously abnormal tool, while others tried to shout warnings to their companions.
Soon, they discovered that their voices couldn't travel outside the training ground at all.
Su Xingze pulled up a chair and sat down, holding a newly bought melon seed gift pack. He munched on various melon seeds and dried fruits while enjoying the performance that was about to begin.
"Then let me see what makes the Wang family so confident that you can replace Little Qilin."
The boys, who looked alike, raised their knives at their former master. The Wang family members stopped trying to warn their companions and stared tensely at the boys who wanted to kill them.
Zhang Shenglin walked silently inside the cave, a space that the Wang family had carved out directly from the mountain, and also a place where members of the Zhang family were imprisoned.
Along the way, he had dealt with many members of the Wang family guarding the cave, and his body was stained with the stench of blood, but his expression remained remarkably calm.
He entered another cave, and before the people inside could look at him, he flashed his knife, revealing a line of blood on his neck, from which blood gushed out.
He lowered his head but collapsed heavily to the ground the next second.
Zhang Shenglin didn't look back, nor did he pause for a moment, and attacked the next person again.
The gap between the two sides was too great. The Wang family members could hardly last until the second move under his attack. One by one, their companions fell down, and fear gradually appeared on the faces of the Wang family members in the cave.
"Monster!" someone screamed, completely breaking down under his indifferent gaze despite having killed so many people.
Zhang Shenglin's eyes remained expressionless as he continued to swing his knife.
One by one, the Wang family members fell down. A few minutes later, apart from Zhang Shenglin, there was no one left standing in the entire cave.
Blood had almost stained the entire bottom of the cave red. Amidst the thick stench of blood, Zhang Shenglin's ears twitched.
