Chapter 22: Conquering the Playboy Prince (Part 21)

“It’s time we went to meet the Fourth Prince, Lan Feng. Little scum, I want to exchange for the Heart-Willing Pill,” Hua Yu said.

"Okay, host, we are exchanging the 'Unwavering Devotion Pill' for you. You have used 6 points. Exchange successful. You have 84 points left." Xiao Zha's cold, mechanical voice announced in a deep voice.

"Soon, I will complete my revenge plan. Let the storm rage on!" Hua Yu laughed wildly, thinking to herself, "I need to finish this damn mission as soon as possible. I've been in this world for so long, and I'm exhausted from using my brain every day."

Soon, Hua Yu arrived at the Fourth Prince's residence and, led by the steward, quickly went to the study.

Hua Yulian gracefully moved to stand before the Fourth Prince, Lan Feng, her beautiful eyes shimmering with deep affection and reluctance. She parted her lips slightly, her voice trembling with emotion: "Your Highness, these days spent with you have been the most unforgettable time of my life. But now you are about to marry Hua Xiang, and our fate may be coming to an end." As she finished speaking, tears seemed about to spill from her eyes.

Seeing her like this, Lan Feng felt a pang of tenderness and wanted to offer words of comfort. Hua Yu, however, continued, "Your Highness, as we part, I have something to give you." With that, she took out a crystal-clear pill from her sleeve and handed it to Lan Feng.

Lan Feng frowned slightly and asked, "What kind of medicine is this?" Hua Yu turned her head away, as if she couldn't bear to look at her, and said softly, "Your Highness, please don't ask any more questions. Just consider it my last little token of my affection. From now on, you and Hua Xiang will live in harmony and forget about me."

Although Lan Feng had doubts, seeing Hua Yu's pitiful appearance and thinking that she might just be overwhelmed with sadness from parting, he didn't press the matter and reached out to take the pills. Hua Yu then withdrew her hand, saying in a tearful voice, "Your Highness, after you take this medicine, just pretend I was never here. You and Hua Xiang should live a good life together."

Lan Feng finally took the pill and swallowed it. Seeing this, Hua Yu suppressed her overwhelming joy. She dared not look Lan Feng in the eye, afraid that her excited expression would betray her.

After swallowing the pill, Lan Feng initially did not feel anything unusual. But after a moment, a strange heat slowly spread from his stomach to his limbs and bones. He was slightly startled, looked up at Hua Yu, and his eyes were filled with doubt and inquiry.

As the warmth spread, his gaze softened and became focused, as if Hua Yu had become the sole center of his world. His initial anxieties about marrying Hua Xiang and his worries about the future were instantly replaced by a strong attachment and trust in Hua Yu.

He involuntarily reached out and gently grasped Hua Yu's soft hand, his voice slightly low but full of deep affection: "Yu'er, don't mention separation again. From now on, I will never leave your side." The determination and infatuation in his eyes were more intense than ever before, as if he were under a spell, completely entrusting his heart to Hua Yu's hand, and would listen to and follow her without hesitation no matter what she said.

Filled with anxiety and worry, Hua Xiang rushed to see the Fourth Prince, Lan Feng. Her steps were hurried, her mind still racing, trying to figure out how to inform Lan Feng of the Crown Prince's plot so he could be prepared. However, when she entered the room, what she saw pierced her heart like a sharp blade. Lan Feng and Hua Yu stood so close, Lan Feng's hand tightly holding Hua Yu's, the atmosphere between them so intimate that she couldn't intervene.

Hua Xiang felt a wave of dizziness, and anger, grievance, and shock instantly intertwined in her heart. "Fourth Prince, so you and she were actually so deeply in love here." Hua Xiang's voice trembled slightly, and her eyes were filled with the pain of betrayal.

When Lan Feng saw Hua Xiang, he showed no remorse or panic. Instead, he shielded Hua Yu behind him and said in a cold tone, "Hua Xiang, this is between Hua Yu and me. It has nothing to do with you. Don't interfere."

Hua Xiang's heart turned completely cold. She had originally planned to risk her life to deliver a message for Lan Feng, but now, that enthusiasm was ruthlessly extinguished. She gritted her teeth, thinking to herself: Since you are so heartless, why should I risk my life for you? So, she forced back her tears and swallowed back the news about the Crown Prince's conspiracy that was on the tip of her tongue.

"Very well, since that's the case, Your Highness, you'd better take care of yourself." Hua Xiang turned and left resolutely. She thought that perhaps continuing to cooperate with the Crown Prince was the only way to protect herself in this palace intrigue, even if it meant pushing Lan Feng into an unknown and dangerous situation. She didn't care anymore; her heart was filled only with resentment after being hurt and a determination for revenge.

After pretending to bid a reluctant farewell to the Fourth Prince Lan Feng, Hua Yu boarded the carriage to return to the Hua Mansion.

"Little rascal, my acting today is Oscar-worthy! I'm really impressed with myself," Hua Yu said, overjoyed.

"Master, Lan Feng's favorability towards you has reached 99. You will soon be able to begin the next phase of the plan," Xiao Zha's mechanical voice said, enunciating each word clearly.

"The winter solstice is almost here, and it'll be the Fourth Prince's wedding day. I'll have to give those two a really generous gift. I don't want them to die so easily. This show will have to go on for a while!" Hua Yu couldn't contain her excitement.

At this moment, Hua Yu was in an exceptionally good mood. She lifted the curtain of the carriage and saw the bustling streets outside, with all kinds of dazzling goods on both sides and the fragrant street food. Her stomach was rumbling with hunger, and she immediately said to her maid Xiao Cui beside her, "Miss, how about I take you shopping and have some delicious food?"

"Really, Miss? Ever since you learned that Miss Hua is getting engaged to the Fourth Prince, you've been locking yourself in your room. I was worried you'd get sick from being so bored. That's great. I'll go with you for a walk." Xiao Cui said with relief.

Hua Xiang and her maid Xiao Cui alighted from the carriage, slightly raising their heads to look around. They saw shops lining both sides of the street, their enticing aromas filling the air with various delicacies. There were steaming hot soup dumplings with thin skins and generous fillings; one bite and the delicious broth burst in your mouth. There were also golden-brown fried cakes, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, their sweet flavor penetrating to the core. Strings of bright red candied hawthorns glistened in the sunlight, seemingly transporting one back to the purest days of childhood.

The street's architecture is unique, with flying eaves, carved beams and painted rafters, blending antiquity with a touch of exoticism. The flowerbeds along the street are full of flowers, and when a gentle breeze blows, the petals fall softly, like a colorful rain of flowers.

Among the passing crowd, handsome men with tall, upright figures occasionally strolled by. Some wore magnificent brocade robes, exuding elegance; others were dressed in pristine white, displaying a refined and scholarly air. Xiao Cui excitedly tugged at Hua Xiang's arm, pointing to a passing handsome man and exclaiming, "Miss, look at that young man! He's so handsome, his features are like they stepped out of a painting!" Hua Xiang was amused by Xiao Cui's appearance and couldn't help but smile, her gloom dissipating somewhat.

The two stopped at a food stall and bought two servings of sweet tofu pudding. Hua Xiang gently scooped up a spoonful and put it in her mouth. The delicate and smooth tofu pudding, accompanied by the sweet syrup, immersed her taste buds in a wonderful flavor. Xiao Cui, on the other hand, wolfed down her food, her mouth covered in tofu pudding, looking quite adorable. Hua Xiang smiled as she wiped Xiao Cui's mouth, admiring the surrounding scenery and the passersby, enjoying this rare moment of leisure.

"It would be even better if there were handsome men to see!" Hua Yu thought to herself, and then she saw a handsome man with a very familiar figure walking towards her from afar.
