"Haha~ Saihu, saw that? I'm asking you, are you convinced? Who else? Hahaha~" Ye Huan immediately became smug. Saihu ran over, picked up the pheasant, and threw it at its master's feet.

"Woof woof~" Saihu barked, and Ye Huan understood, "You're amazing, alright?"

"I told you I wasn't skilled enough before, now you know how good I am~" Ye Huan laughed.

Saihu turned around and continued forward. Ye Huan looked at its expression and saw that it was clearly looking down on him. "Damn it, Saihu, I'll show you what I'm capable of in a minute."

By this time, he and Saihu were quite deep in the forest. The light was starting to dim and their vision was obstructed, so Ye Huan randomly fired shots at places where animals could easily hide.

You know what, he was really lucky. Two pheasants flew out of the grass where he was shooting. Saihu chased after them, but they flew away. Ye Huan kept shooting from behind, but he couldn't shoot one down.

The way Saihu looked at Ye Huan, could Ye Huan stand it?

"What are you looking at? If you hadn't been chasing them recklessly, and I was afraid of hitting you, would I have let them fly away?"

Saihu nodded. "Okay, you're right, you're right about everything. It was my fault."

Ye Huan blushed for a moment. It had indeed been a long time since he had played, and his skills had become rusty. No, I must practice until I get back to my old self. Sai Hu, you just wait, I'll slap you in the face sooner or later and show you what it means to be the best archer in the world.

Ye Huan continued firing haphazardly while muttering to himself, when suddenly a howl came from afar.

Ye Huan and Sai Hu stopped and looked at each other. "Was that a wolf howl?" Ye Huan asked.

Saihu nodded. There was no mistake, it was a wolf howl, but why did it sound so miserable?

Ye Huan was ready to retreat, after all, they had gone quite deep, and those were wolves. Although he felt he had become more powerful through his training, he didn't know if he could withstand the wild wolves.

This isn't the kind of wild wolf that dances disco; it's a real wolf from the mountains, incredibly difficult to deal with. And his grandfather told him since he was little that when a wolf turns back, it's either to repay a debt of gratitude or to seek revenge.

He also said that wolves can't be tamed, otherwise why would they be called ingrates?

The most important thing is that these wolves are particularly vengeful. Someone in their village once caught a wolf, tortured it in every way before killing it, and then it was finally killed by its companions who had been watching it for more than half a year.

"Come on, Saihu, let's retreat. These things are no good. We don't know how many there are. We can't beat them. We won't even have time to run away!" Ye Huan shouted to Saihu to go back.

Saihu hunched over and let out a low growl. Ye Huan knew it was too late when he saw Saihu's appearance. He put away his slingshot, slowly put down his basket, and then drew his specially made machete, staring in the direction of Saihu's growl.

Sure enough, a strong, bluish-white wolf slowly emerged from the grass. Surprisingly, it showed no intention of attacking Ye Huan and his companions. "Awooo~"

The wolf let out a soft howl. Ye Huan looked at it, then at Saihu: "What does it mean?"

"Woof~ woof~~" Saihu barked.

"You want our help? Help with what? Are you kidding me? Help it fill its stomach?" Ye Huan was speechless. What could we possibly do to help the wolves?

Saihu scoffed, then barked at the wolf.

Ye Huan understood, "My master is a complete idiot, what's going on?"

"Awooo~~" the wolf growled.

Ye Huan looked at Saihu suspiciously, "Are you having an affair with it? You're chatting so passionately? Will your future children be named Wolfhound?"

"Woof~" Saihu barked at its owner, and Ye Huan understood: "I'll sue you for defamation, even if we're close..."

Ye Huan could tell that the wolf must have encountered some trouble, which was why it risked coming out to find help.

"Sigh~ Let's go take a look. If we can't beat them, we can join them. It's better to be friends than enemies. I reckon Saihu can't beat you either," Ye Huan said to Wild Wolf.

Saihu barked twice, and Ye Huan understood, "Who are you talking about? You think I can't beat it? Do you know what you're saying? Do you know I'm the coolest in the whole village? My harem stretches from one end of the village to the other?"

"Tch~~ You think I'd believe that?" Ye Huan saw the wolf turn around, so he grabbed his knife and followed after it. He figured he'd check things out; as long as they didn't fight, they were all good friends.

Saihu followed, warily observing their surroundings.

After walking for about five minutes, Ye Huan finally understood what was happening before him: a young white wolf, its leg firmly caught in a trap set by a hunter, struggling in pain.

"Is this your child?" Ye Huan asked, looking at the wolf.

The wolf looked at him suspiciously, then Saihu barked as if to confirm. The wolf nodded, its eyes revealing pleading and expectation for Ye Huan.

Ye Huan sighed and shook his head helplessly. "Alright, it seems I can't escape today. But let me make this clear first, I'm not giving in because I can't beat you, I'm just worried about Saihu getting hurt."

As he spoke, he stuck the knife into the ground and carefully approached the little wolf.

Crouching down for a closer look, he discovered that the trap was deeply embedded in the wolf cub's flesh, with the bone protruding and blood gushing out. The wolf cub howled in agony, evoking pity in the eyes of all who saw it.

Seeing this, Ye Huan quickly scooped up a handful of spiritual spring water and carefully brought it to the little wolf's mouth, gently coaxing, "Come on, little guy, drink some water first, and I'll rescue you in a bit."

Perhaps the little wolf was tired from howling, perhaps it was thirsty, or perhaps it was attracted by the fragrance of the spiritual spring water. It lowered its head and began to lick the cool water from Ye Huan's palm.

The splashing sound of water indicated that it was drinking with great enjoyment. After finishing, the little wolf's eyes gradually regained some of their sparkle. It looked at Ye Huan, as if expressing its gratitude and anticipation.

Seeing this, Ye Huan felt a warmth in his heart and scooped up another handful of spiritual spring water. The little wolf seemed to understand Ye Huan's intention; it no longer hesitated and happily drank again.

"Bear with it, I'll let you out." Ye Huan grabbed both sides of the clamp and pried it open with force. The little wolf quickly pulled its legs back and escaped.

However, it was seriously injured and couldn't stand up. Ye Huan looked at it.

Then he looked at its father, "There's no medicine!" He also used the spring water to wash the wolf cub's wound, as infection would be troublesome.

"Awooo!" the wolf howled and turned to leave.

"Sigh~ Sigh~ Where are you going? What do you mean?" Ye Huan was dumbfounded.

"Woof woof~~" Saihu said.

"Let me take it back? Seriously? How can you be so careless? You're incredibly trusting." Ye Huan was speechless. Take a little wolf back to heal its wounds? I just don't believe it.

The wolf looked back at him, then pulled a roe deer from the bushes behind him and tossed it to Ye Huan.

"Hey~ We're all friends, no need to be so polite. I've been thinking about taking your child back for treatment for a while now, since there's no medicine available right now." Ye Huan nodded readily and agreed.

It's not about the roe deer; it's purely out of friendship. Yes, it's just friendship.

The wolf nodded, then looked at the cub, licked it, and ran away.

"I'll come find you when I'm healed!" Ye Huan shouted to the wolf.

"Ouch~~"

"Saihu, did you see that? Isn't your brother super awesome and super cool? Haha~" Ye Huan picked up the basket on his back, but it couldn't fit the roe deer.

The only option was to find a vine to tie the roe deer to and then drag it back.

"Saihu, let's go home. We'll have extra food tonight!!"

"Wow~~~"

"You wish! You want a leg too? Why don't you just say you can have the whole thing?" Ye Huan said disdainfully.
